Switch Main Server for WoW?

Well I just posted in another thread that I would not start a new character on Blackhand to play with GWJ Horde. I''ve made my character on Shadowsong (Orcen Fighter named Cro (hey isn''t that Orc backwards? why yes it is. Genius! Well maybe for an Orc)) because they really do seem to have overpopulated the west coast with servers - and I really do believe the west coast people are having a better experience - and latency doesn''t seem to really be an issues with WoW.

I have a level 15 character on Hyjal that I''d hate to have to give up, but that being said people - it took my friend one night of play to reach level 9 with his character (and that was his first time in WoW) -so I don''t see why people are so upset about having to start over - especially if your ''toon is within a few levels of 10. Level 15+ obviously is giving up a bit more of an investment.

Try thinking of starting a new character as an opportunity to explore another class, or to work the noob zones with some GWJ''ers.

So in short I second this approach:

I say we pick another server to use during the downtimes and that EVERYONE get on it. If BH sorts it self out, we can stay. But if it doesn''t we can have a leg up on moving.

I''ve only really played on Shadowsong so far (Tauren Shaman, Dushka, lvl 12) but I''d still be willing to play Goodie-Two-Shoes on Blackhand. The High population always seems to scare me away though.

Me and some real life friends have been playing on proudmore. After the first 2 days we haven''t experienced any problems. I''ve been waiting for BH to stabilize before making a character there, but that doesn''t seem to be happening anytime soon.
So really I would vote for moving to a server you can log into on a regular basis.

Not moving unless Blackhand has a multiple day outage ala Archimonde, Dalaran, Khadgar, and Mal''Ganis.

I voted no. This will eventually clear up (I hope).

I logged on Blackhand last night to work on my GWJ character at 1:30AM PST and the server status was still HIGH. It was the only high server on the list for central servers. There were no high servers on PST either. Luckily there were no queue though but if it''s high at that late of an hour, it must be much worse during the day and evenings. Sleep overwhelmed me at 2AM so I''m only a lvl 8 on blackhand :/

Alright, since I can''t play on Blackhand again tonight, I''m starting a new character on Shadowsong. I''m an Orc Warrior named Gronkl. Send me a message if you want to meet up!

I will be making an alternate on Llane as well although I still havent experienced any issues - of course I play at 7-10am and then again 12-4pm so definitely off peak...

Since I bashed I will also praise. I had a lag and stress free session on BH last night. Eezy and I played from about 7-11pm EST last night with NO problems, other than the mail being a little slow. Good times. Soon as I logged off I logged right back in to see if there was a queue. My naked little man immediately appeared.

Jadawin and I had 0 issues besides mail lag....until midnight. Then the server went to hell. I was ready for bed by then anyway. I can''t wait for the first big patch from Blizzard to tighten up some of these smaller issues.

Are you on the west coast? I think Blizz took the East/Central servers down for maintenance at 12 or 1 PST.

This was on Blackhand. Jadawin and I are in EST, it happened at midnight or close to it.

Yeah, the experience was a good one last night,

I''m going to start some alts on Shadowsong as well this weekend. I see Blackhand getting worse after the next wave of account logins (post Christmas) when the newbies want to get on a server with their friends.

A couple folks (East Coast) have characters on Llane as well - never had an issue there yet...

Blackhand ran really well the last 2 days. Looks like our guild can keep growing on that server afterall, which is a relief.

No queue last night was refreshing, but the night before we did have a queue as well as a couple people in our group got kicked and then couldn''t get past the login page for 20+ minutes, so I would say better, but not really well.

Yeah I have had no problems on Blackhand since Tuesday.

I had a good experience last night logging in during prime time with no queue. I think its getting better (knocks on wood).

I think all servers are going to have issues from time to time. Changing servers really isn''t going to fix things in the long run. Just hang tight, have alts to play from time to time, and enjoy Blackhand. I know I''m sticking there.

so I would say better, but not really well.

I was referring to performance/lag and not the queue more specifically.

OK, then yeah, that was really well! No problems

9:15PM CST on Blackhand, Friday night and zero queue. Not bad!

Cool. I''m going to jump on there in a couple minutes then.

I''ll be thinking of you guys from the funny shaped building in DC. Sigh.... I couldnt even have a beer when I went to dinner with the wife and frineds before work... Bleh.
