So... what exactly is the difference between La Mulana and Spelunky?

b12n11w00t wrote:

@maverickz I honestly don't know, but La Mulana is more a Metroidvania, and I don't think Spelunky is. But I could be wrong.

Spelunky is a roguelike and La Mulana is a Metroidvania game. So, the grinder was correct.

Nice bundle, and I only have 1 game in the bunch for a change.

Most of the games in the bundle got pretty bad metacritic reviews. I am interested in Divinity 2 though.

The only one that truly caught my eye was Cities 2012 XL. Game of Thrones maybe also, but mostly because I'm a fan of the books. I know nothing about the game.

Psychonauts is 2 bucks on Steam now. Important note: some months ago they patched it so that Meat Circus got way easier. In case you didn't know. Also: cheevos and cloud saves.

And cards, for those who care

I noticed La Mulana is $3 right now on Steam. Hell of a deal.

There are also the two Psychonauts Soundtracks for 99 cents each. In a world where many game soundtracks are available free I am hesitating. Worth adding a charge to my credit card?

They're great soundtracks, but Psychonauts has been in a couple of Humble Bundles already. Seems like a good chance it'll pop up again, in which case you can get the soundtracks in lossless format (FLAC) and probably at a better price. I wouldn't bother with getting them on Steam.

Bundle In A Box is currently featuring 8 indie rpg's for a minimum of $2. 13 games if one pays more than the average (currently $5.20).

True enough, which is why I didn't pick them up on earlier sales. This is a good way to try them out risk free.

Now the same price from the dev. Tempted.

Humble Bundle 9 has been updated! BTA now includes Bastion, Limbo, A Virus Named Tom, and Rocketbirds.

I was hoping for Don't Starve, but didn't expect it.

Does anybody know what happens if you buy two bundles with the same game? Bastion for instance was in HB V, but if I buy this one, I'd give the new key to my daughter's account.

It shows up twice on the main download list, and if you click through to the individual bundle page, each bundle has its own keys.

Seriously, the updates to this latest Humble Bundle are worth it just for the Bastion and FTL soundtracks!

Agreed, if you don't have them. I actually listened to the Bastion soundtrack before playing the game, and as a result bumped it straight to the top of my pile. They're both fantastic soundtracks.

"Two -- well, forget about two."

I've got a 65% off coupon for Cities in Motion 2. It's good through 10/15. PM me if you're interested.

I can only vouch for Unemployment Quest (which is how I heard of this bundle). Hack, Slash, Loot I've also heard is good, never heard anything on the rest of them...

There's like a bajillion hours of gameplay in there, though I can't help but think that with the X series, you only ever need to play the most recent version.

That's pretty great. I've always wanted to dabble in those games, but couldn't justify. Which is the latest?

Albion Prelude is the latest, but I will admit the I skipped it after way too many hours in Terrain Conflict. X-Rebirth is the soon-to-be released sequel.

I got my 360 controller set up for it, a few 'scripts' (similar to mods, I guess) to automate some of the more elaborate trading schemes, and I was set. Great fun and good memories. I think I heard that Albion has a much better tutorial, the previous versions were notorious for their learning wall.

From what I've seen. X3: TC has the best tutorial. Easiest to get into. I heard Albion Prelude was more confusing. Never played AP but got into X3 TC. Great game.
