WoW's down; What do you do while waiting?

So... for the second time tonight WoW has gone down and I'm bored. What's everyone doing in-between the server resets?

Right now I'm firing up the Cube for some X-Men Legends while I stare at my $80 "Retrieving Character List" simulator...

I hit F5 over and over here and at the official forums

Packers vs Rams

I''m in, but it''s laaaaagy.

I feel sorry for the east coast folks, the game doesn''t get over till midnight there.

Pirates!

I''ve been playing around on Azjol-Nerub (over in Mountain) since Blackhand started flaking- it''s solid as a rock so far.

I am actually logged into Blackhand now, working on crafting.

Flux, did you know that your new Tauren Shaman''s name means ''mailman'' in Spanish?

Yeah.

My first name is Carter so.....

That is very appropriate considering some of the quests. Sometimes I feel like a UPS man delivering the packages.

MNF

Enjoy the bashing!!

My favs:

World of Groundhog Day
World of Warcrash

They asked people to post any server failures. Big mistake. Like they don''t know?

Must be nice. This is the second night in a row I''m sitting here waiting to play instead of playing(last night was because of an hour queue to get in after a crash)- I don''t have the time for this, and it''s just going to get worse once the baby comes. I love you guys to death, but if Blizzard can''t get a handle on Blackhand''s problems in a week or two, I''m finding another server.

Lets pick another server on Pacific.

Lets pick another server on Pacific.

How about Mountain or a lower-pop Central server?

Agreed... but I have almost no concerns that ""in a week or two"" will be enough time for them to get this worked out. That being said, tonight''s issues are all Eastern and Central servers (they''re all hosted in the same complex in Virginia) so I''d still be experiencing the same thing as I''ve no desire to connect to a west coast server... that''ll be laggy (for me) even when the server is 100%.

Actually, I made several characters on Pacific servers and haven''t had any major problems with them even though I live in Ohio. No queues or rollbacks.

I thought this as well but I am located in EST and my MST ping on this new server is lower by 20ms over Blackhand. I don''t think the distance makes much of a difference. Jadawin and I are on Azjol-Nerub right now just messing around with undead toons.

Like I just posted in another thread, Marlin, FangBlackbone, Gretz and I played on Shadowsong (Pacific) for 3 hours just now and it was fine.

I think there at least 8-10 of us on Shadowsong as an ALT when Blackhand is screwed.

It amuses me to no end that you guys paid $50+15 per month for a game that you can''t play half the time. Enjoy!

PLaying the new Sid Meier Pirates game. Sheer brilliance!

I think I have been lucky in that I only experienced a brief amount of downtime because I have been playing at off peak hours due to my schedule... I did decide to go to bed at one point when the servers went down for morning maintenance if that counts :)... Speaking of alts I will be making one on Shadowsong - any requests? Horde/Alliance?

We played, we just switched servers. We chose a bad server initially, no biggie. Running a mmorpg is a tad bit more complex than running a simple FPS game.

Shadowsong then? I have limited play time and sitting in queues is one thing, but lag to the point it''s unplayable and repeated server crashes is another.

I am playing on Llane and have never had any downtime.

I just popped out a couple of new toons on Shadowsong. Maybe I''ll actually get to hook up wit'' folks some time soon - my play schedule seems to be completely out of sync with everybody...

Oh, and while I''m queued I play online poker.

Money is money, Flux.

From my experience through the various betas, WoW is Diablo 2 in 3d, which means that blizzard should already have their sh*t together.

It''s not that difficult-battle.net ran for years without any reports of major issue-and you can''t say they didn''t have significant user loads.

No need to troll. It sucks yeah...but it''s a terrific game and I really enjoy it.
