FF13: Official GWJFFL 2013 signup and discussion thread

I'm very happy with how my D2 draft turned out, especially given my position (12)

Pick Overall Name Pos
1.12 12 Alfred Morris RB
2.1 13 A. J. Green WR
3.12 36 Matt Ryan QB
4.1 37 Lamar Miller RB
5.12 60 Dwayne Bowe WR
6.1 61 Danny Amendola WR
7.12 84 Miles Austin WR
8.1 85 Montee Ball RB
9.12 108 Jared Cook TE
10.1 109 Seahawks TM

I feel really deep at WR... might be interested in a trade with someone who is RB heavy.

Feeling down about Lamar Miller, but now seeing David Wilson, not feeling as bad.

:(

I have both of them on my team in a friends league... winning?

You win. It looks like I'm going to finish 2nd in total points regardless of Miller. Can't complain too much.

Woo. Victory here and in non-GWJ league both.

Mostly made the right plays except MJD here and Steven Ridley over there. But good enough to win.

I own Miller and Ridley in other leagues. Neither of their performances had a bearing on the outcome of my fantasy games, but I can tell you I will be plugging Joique Bell into my flex next week instead of Miller. And I was lucky enough to get Vereen in the league where I have Ridley. I will pray to the Fantasy Gods this week.

Edit - I may be late to the party on this app, but I just discovered a great push notification app for Android and iPhone that syncs with Fleaflicker called THUUZ. You can choose what type of updates it pushes, including injury updates. I don't have links handy, but it comes up first thing in a search of the Android app store.

Thanks for the tip. Here's a link.

I had a surprisingly nice week after concerns over depth, even going into last night. I was worried that I'd started the Cowboys D, since they hadn't looked that strong. Luckily my worries were alleviated with that 24 point performance :).

Course now that I've had 3 starters go down to injury, this 10 deep bench thing is really irritating. For teams without injuries there's no incentive to make trades and there's pretty much nothing on the wire.

There's always something on the wire, you just have to be continually active. Three starters going down is some bad, bad luck.

Don't forget to draft handcuffs for RBs. That's one of the nice things about the deep rosters.

yeah GWJ leagues are not waiver wire friendly.

Bleah. Terrible. Horrible. Ridiculous. Terrible some more.

Today in a nutshell.

Posted this in the weekly thread but apparently people still post here soooo.... I NEED WR IN PRO! I have 5 starting RBs but crap WRs.

That's sage advice, but in a 10 deep bench people draft other team's handcuffs.

And Brandon Boldin goes down. Make it 4 injured.

edit: interesting, he came back. wonder if he'll be effective.

Well, yes, hence you actually have to make an effort to draft your handcuffs, not just expect them to fall in your lap.

Lets talk.

If I have a trade that's gone through, but won't process until Monday at 8:00AM, can I use the player this weekend, or will the locked status block the trade?

I was wondering this too, but I think our trade may have been accepted too late to process for this week's games. I was hoping to slide Bowe in for Kerley but I don't think you can do that if the trade is processed after the Sunday games.

I read some of their forums, it looks like the trade will go through, but whomever the team the person is on at game time will get the points...

Unless we can get Grump to move it. The 48 hour rule really messes with in-week trades. I kind of thought the trade would be executed immediately at the end of 48 hours.

I thought it would too, although it wouldn't have mattered for my case. I just am totally shot for depth at WR and will be able to use him in the coming weeks. I don't know what the rule is on asking Grump to expidite trades so you can use Thomas at 4:25. I had assumed he'd be available for you.

I'll make do. Just a good FYI for anyone else that wants to make trades, best to do it the week before.

That or you can beg everyone to vote and Grumps can force it through once a majority votes to not veto it.

I'd rather beg the fantasy gods to stop injuring my players every freaking week.

Jeebus, now david wilson went down. We have 10 man benches and I might not be able to roster a team at this rate.

At least Wilson scored first right?

Indeed... I benched Pierre Thomas for him this week

I'd rather give up the TD and have a healthy player at this point.

That's just heartbreaking. Edelman dropped a TD for me today. Bowe and Amendola both got tackled on the 1 yard line. This just isn't my year. *sigh*

Wilson will be fine.
