Guild Wars 2 Catch All

I just managed to get the vista in Dosteov Sky Peak. That was a massive pain, just because if you die you have to do the whole thing again, clearing trash mobs all the way, and dealing with three Veteran Dredge too. That was far and away the nastiest one yet for me. I'm at level 77 now, which is kind of exciting, though I imagine the lustre of level 80 will last all of 5 minutes.

It's defnitely one of the most annoying vistas to get.

Even the few that are behind JPs are less annoying/more rewarding.

Man, this new trend of having to get EVERY Living World achievement to get the final one is exhausting. When it first started you needed 10/15 or 12/15 and that gave you some choices. Last month though you have to get ALL.

Yeah, definitely feeling the fatigue on that too... Haven't logged on in a few days kinda because of that...

10-20 new achievements every 2 weeks is quite a bit bonkers. If you are the completionist type, you might get a bit soft in the head after just a few months of that.

Agreed. It really is exhausting. Means I just try out the event for abit and if not to my liking I more or less just abandon it whole.
Like with the SAB; tried it once, didn't really care for it, haven't been back since.

I'd have preferred the Living Story content to be one release per month. I'm glad they're putting this much value into a subscription free game, but I just don't have the time to commit to any one game in order to keep up with what's being released.

It's had the opposite of the desired effect for me. I got burned out and instead of playing continually to get all the achievements I've only started the game up once or twice in the past 2 weeks now.

While the Living World releases have been hit or miss with me, it's more about the pace and theme of the releases; I cannot fault them at all for trying something different and I do appreciate them constantly updating a non-sub game.

In spite of the Living World, I find myself logging on more often than before. Might be because I finally hit 80 with my main. That said, I have really come to love Guild Wars 2. It is now firmly at the top of my list of favourite MMORPGs.

Just last night I was passing through an area I've been through before and triggered an event quest-line that I haven't seen yet. So I spend the next 45 minutes following a pair of NPCs around, taking down mobs and enjoying their fully voiced back and forth banter. At the end of the whole thing, I didn't get any achievements nor completed any part of my dailies and got only one piece of loot that I couldn't use. Yet I had fun. I had fun by experiencing a dynamically triggered, lovingly created, part of the game world and story. Not because I suffered through a mess of things I've killed a hundred times before but got a reward so hey!, that must have been fun.

OK, My warrior is level 80. Now what? Do WvW to gear up? If I get the requisite Badges of Honour, I seem to be able to buy some very nice looking exotic gear. I seemed to get 100 badges for just turning up the first time. The others seem to be coming a bit more slowly.

I've decided against transferring to NA for now. Everything I fancy doing now (WvW or dungeons) requires me being online at the same time as other people. No, no, try to deal with the disappointment.

This sums it up for me as well. I have missed a few chapters of the Living Story and not lost any sleep over it. And I am not an achievements-motivated player in any case. Any MMO with a "too much content updating" issue is fine by me It's the dynamic content, just like Falchion mentioned, that keeps me coming back.

Just recently, while leveling my Guardian, I was tromping through the Harathi Highlands. I wander into a large settlement and soon hear the weeping of a woman bemoaning lost family, killed by the centaurs. I check my map, and see that there is a new event, to stop incoming centaur commanders. I march to the enemy encampment and start dispensing swift justice to the dastardly centaur. One event chains into another, as I press deeper into the enemy fortress. As the moments tick by more and more players flock to the events. It culminates in a dramatic battle with a champion centaur King. Had to be at least 20 players there by the end. Not only was it a lot of fun, but I grabbed almost two levels worth of experience as well.

Remember guild missions are on tonight for 22:00h EST / 19:00h PDT.

I really like the Harathi meta-event, but it takes a loooong time to go from start to finish.

It was a bit long in comparison but for me just long enough. Felt like a mini-raid.

It's a really nice multi-event chain that makes a really good spot to level for levels 48-55 ish.

psa: character slot appear to be on sale for 25% off, haven't seen it advertise anywhere so this may not last.

Apparently, the sale will last from September 12th to 15th.

Apparently there is a super boombox in the store. That... is pretty awesome.

Apparently Teq is getting an upgrade in next Tuesday's patch: Tequatl Rising

Yeah I always felt the dragon fights were too static. I understand there are techical limitations but they should move, swat people, go to different map locations etc.

That's nice, Diablo, bit wrong crowd. ^_^

So I got myself two extra slots even though I haven't had time to play, which means I now have eight slots, one for each class. Still have 600 gems left, so should I get another slot in case they roll out another class? Or something like a bank tab? Or gold maybe? But getting gold seems like a waste.
Opinions?

I would not get gold for gems, ever. A ninth slot seems a bit useless at the moment too, so I'd bank the gems for something shiny later. The Gold->Gem ration can only get worse anyway, which means that you could either buy a bit more gold later on or you still have them when they roll out Tengu with fancy stuff.

(Yes I am wishing for Tengu, because burd people are awesome. <.<)

I'm also wishing for Tengu and maybe the Kodan. A girl can dream...

Tengu look great, and bird people would be very interesting. However considering how Charr are currently treated by Anet in terms of glitches (are their footprints the right way round yet?) and lack of armour options (pauldrons and backpieces float off the body, tails and horns clip through most sets, including unforgivably some cultural sets) I would have little confidence in picking one.

I felt the Charr and Asura personal stories were much better early on in the game (until picking an Order and them becoming generic), but post-80 I honestly wished I'd rolled human on all my characters. Given that they're intent on rolling out legendary armour with the effort to acquire that implies, I sincerely hope they can do better in future.

Man, is this week's WvW matchup rough or what?

So, Blades has made it into national (brazilian) tv! hahaha

I won a contest and they took me to Rock in Rio to get a tattoo by american artist Ami James (who I am a big fan of!!) and here's the video they made about it all!
I am trying to figure out how to put English subtitles to it, if anyone knows how to do it wouldn't mind guiding me through?

Here, enjoy my portuguese prowess!! I speak way faster in my own language, right?! LOL

So, seems ill be back from a 4-5 months hiatus to clear some games.

I might be doing sPvP tho. Maybe mix it with wvwvw again.

It's nice they gave me goodies to come back, or rather, goodies for my 1 year anniversary.

I've actually been dipping my toes into spvp lately so I'm totally down for that.

Plus, as UMOarsman said, this week's WvW matchup is quite ridiculous and not really worth wasting time on

Can I write the subtitles if I help you out?

They said several times that Charr and Asura sind the least played classes, which is the reason that they are not working in male/female armor and other stuff that might be nice and fancy.

Yeah, iirc Charr were around 13% of characters, with Asura, Sylvari and Norn a few percent ahead - not enough of a difference to be really significant. Humans were on 36%, unsurprising since so many people just go to them by default in any game. Thing is, GW2 makes much of horizontal/aesthetic progression for characters, which is a problem when the non-human races have so many issues getting gear that looks nice on them. I still think Anet's argument is backwards, and if they sorted out Charr and Asura appearance they see more people choosing those races.

Frankly, if they can't justify time on fixing these issues, I can't see them undertaking the much larger task to add new races any time soon, which is a shame.

(I'd still like to play as a Tengu however, so I'd be happy to be wrong ^^)

I'd play as a Tengu in a heartbeat (those are the bird guys, right?). I'd also quite like those aquatic guys I've just met in the story quest who remind me a bit of the Quarians from Mass Effect.

Is another race really on the table? Are they going down the expansions route like they did with GW1?
