Humble Origin Bundle just added Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 and OG Populous if you paid over the average. C&C has a Steam key. Populous is Origin-only.

Populous how strange. Actually I was expecting dead space 2, bit odd it was there.

Woo, zero reason to beat the average! Time to make a purchase.

I hear they're going to add Pong and Asteroids soon. Can't wait!

I got Populous and I have no idea what I'm doing.

Your story checks out.

You're playing a game made in 1989. Good luck to you!

Populous is a rather good game but their has been a more modern take on the game already: http://www.reprisaluniverse.com/site/

When I popped on it earlier today, the average was only $4.87.

Eh it's basically a God RTS. Worshipers give you mana. They need house which require flat land. The more flat land the more mana they can generate. Large house don't create new followers as fast, though. Use your god powers to stop your opponent from doing the same. That's it.

How is Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3?

It's fairly fun if you don't play it very seriously. I enjoyed it.

Hmm...I might need to find the audio of this and turn that last line into a ringtone...

ugh... is anyone else as annoyed as I am that you can't activate a game through the website and just have it added to your library? It's a small thing, but annoying.

Agreed. That's one place that steam is lacking, that Origin does well.

I redeemed all the HB codes on Origin today, and it was super smooth (now that the code redemption page actually loads I mean). You can do it from the website, which is great already, but as soon as you are done, there is a button for "Redeem another code".

Is this the complete Red Alert 3, or just the Uprising expansion if its standalone?

Yeah another vote on that. The steam interface is awful. I would have preferred an overall to the silly trading cards:

Although I totally would be down for vampires the masqueraded bloodlines pogs...

Witcher games on sale @ GOG. The Witcher is $2.49, The Witcher 2 is $4.99.

Same prices on Steam for the whole weekend, if you prefer.

I cannot stress enough that you should buy and play the Witcher games if you are even remotely interested in RPGs with excellent story and writing. They are truly at or near the pinnacle of the genre.

You can actually register your Steam versions on GOG to get the DRM free version AND have the convenience of Steam.

Just Uprising.

Boo

so glad you guys knew what I was talking about as I just realized that I never once said the word "Steam" anywhere in my post...

That's all well and good, but what do all those buttons do?!?!
(rhetorical question, if I really want to find out I'll google it or something)

eh... the only buttons I remember are raise and lower land. Oh and there's a button for Armageddon. Don't press that unless you know you'll win....

Lots of natural disaster effects. Swamp, earthquake, volcano, fire...

Okay, so because I have zero interest in Red Alert Uprising, Populous, or the SIMs, I find myself with spare keys. Anyone want them?

I have the following steam codes to hand out to the first non-grinder that PM's me.

Dead Space
Mirror's Edge

I have both of these games on 360 and just picked up the Humble Bundle. They're both awesome games and if you don't have them, you should.

Also, this breaks the 200 game mark on Steam for me. I don't know whether to be proud or ashamed.

Gah, I haven't played a C&C game since the first Red Alert. Am I missing out on much, or should I just live with the nostalgia?

GoG is having a sale on a lot of great strategy games for a few days:

FTL: FASTER THAN LIGHT
King of Dragon Pass
Expeditions: Conquistador
Zafehouse: Diaries
Galactic Civilizations I: Ultimate Edition
Overlord + Raising Hell
Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic
Age of Wonders 2: The Wizard's Throne
