Guild Wars 2 Catch All

I now have 3 80s, with my thief joining the fold.

Anyone got suggestions for things to try besides death blossom spam? It just seems so effective piling on the bleed and evading at the same time. I know it's situational, but it just seems like such a good default, well, besides when you fall off something.

My thief is in her mid-50s now and I've preferred using dual pistols with her.

The way I have her set up seems to be better for groups of enemies. I specced into Pistol Mastery on the Critical Strikes line and Ricochet on the Trickery line. I mostly use this to bounce Vulnerability (#2 skill) amongst enemies or use a Poison skill before an Unload(#3 skill). There's also a good chance to multi-Daze (#4 skill) too if needed.

I don't know how this approach stacks up to the other weapons since the last time I tried the other weapon sets was around 10-15 levels ago. Honestly though it has been the one I've personally found the most enjoyable.

Heartseaker spam seems to be the preference of D/D thieves in SPvP. Gad do they hate it when I go into death shroud.

I think I prefer shortbow for ranged duty.

Maybe I should be looking for a stun within my utility skills.

In my thiefing experience nothing beats shortbow for range tagging, aoe, and utility. That leaves your melee option. DB spam is great fun and fairly effective at solo play and is what I currently run - s/p and d/p are also solid but involve a bit more timing. For dd I typically gather 3 or 4 mobs with shortbow, tab ldb spam, steal for the initiative gain, ldb, dodge, dodge, dodge for crappy caltrops - all mobs have 9 to 12 bleed stacks. Repeat for veterans or champs. Imo you have to stay very mobile as a thief - it will actually make you play your tankier proffessions better.

Haven't played much at all since last year, started playing again recently and with all the changes/content/etc that's gone in since then, it's rather overwhelming figuring out what all is out there to do and how to do it. I'm mostly just focusing on playing my guardian and leveling up instead.

reached two milestones this weekend: played my 1000th hour since release and got my 7th level80

I'd been 'dipping in' for a while, and only recently started putting in decent time into it. One of the things I like is that it doesn't immediately hit you over the head with 'you must know everything' to get playing, sure you're not going to be a top performer in challenging content, but you can get doing something worthwhile very quickly.

Hooray for Kiel. Glad to know my final 150 votes last night were to good effect.

Someone datamined that if you play on the 28th (the 1 year anniversary) you get 200 gems.

Queen's Jubilee has started. The new wallet is super nice.

The new wallet is great, and the new area in Divinity's Reach is a great place to farm materials and get a few rares. A bit intense, but following a zerg helps immensely.

Bah, the council election set up was against the charr to begin with.

So I guess all that money we helped Gnash liberate from those pirates just went to 'bribe' his own pockets into holding more money?

Hey, Kiel may be a filthy bookah, but at least she isn't a filthy CHARR bookah. The true crime here is that there wasn't a glorious Asuran candidate for people to elect.

One thing I found kind of interesting was people looking for hidden stories about the candidates, the assassination of the council member, and coming up with the theory that Kiel was Scarlet, with the event at the gambit opening that Scarlet is a sylvari, I do wonder how long before there's a storyline involving asura.

It's nice of them to have more 'evil' factions in the world than just one 'mirror' per race (nightmare court/inquest/iceblood/blood legion/separatists)

Where do you guys suggest putting traits for a leveling warrior? When I last played I was using a signet build but it looks like thats been nerfed quite a bit.

Longbow and your melee weapons of choice. If you are good at dodging trait for damage otherwise split between damage and survivability. A warrior is one of the most versatile levelers so find a flow you like and go nuts. I personally found sword/war horn enjoyable for near perma swiftness.

I built my warrior out really tanky, putting all of my points into defense and tactics. Once I crafted a good toughness armor set, I could just stand there and beat on just about everything.

You can also go ther other way... I levelled mine with A/A and traited for axe damage, most things died before I was in any real trouble.

So someone mentioned pencil and paper and I wondered what that was so I made a google doc spreadsheet for tracking ballons / zone completion whatever.

Layout shamelessly stolen from the wiki

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...

Click save a copy and you can use it to

Ahhhh, spreadsheets.... You sure fit in perfectly. For the record, there are no balloons in Orr, neither in Southsun, and the Labyrinthine Cliffs are no longer accessible. Nice spreadsheet, think ill add it as an extra "map" tab on mine.
I've done about 20 balloons and although I haven't written it down, I've been going at it zone by zone. Those champs are really, really annoying...

Seems that Warrior finally got some decent sustain from Healing Signet. If I was still playing I would totally put a build together around Apothecary gear and sword/longbow.

I don't know if it is true with healing signet, but +healing generally does not scale with effects like that.

the Healing Power factor for the signet is 0.5 for active and 0.05 for passive, so on the regen it does very very little.

Nevertheless, when you stack up healing signet and the healing you get from adrenal healing it's not insignificant. With my warrior in the Liadri fight for instance I can essentially shrug off all her ranged attack with the passive healing (knight's gear). I'm getting really close on that fight.

Ah. I was looking at a couple of builds people were using that looked like 'condition bunkers' for want of a better description. Signet did get a change recently I think, and i thought that explained it but maybe the healing gear was for shout heals or banners. Sounded fun and different anyway.

Running with a zerg is fun for a little while, but I find it gets draining after a bit.

I'm so glad they did the wallet merge. It's much better that they've taken the currency shuffling micromanagement out if you're running alts. It would be nice to see them continue that trend and eliminate other little quality of life paper-cuts.
