Random thing you love right now that doesn't deserve its own thread

Second day in a row on the JEOPARDY! Kids Week that a contestant said they wanted to be a video game developer.

Listening to jazz on vinyl.

I have a Salt Weasel! What in the world can I do with a Salt Weasel?

Just got back from signing a lease (5 years) on a 2013 Toyota Matrix. 0% interest, $1000 in trade for our 8-year old Relay, another $1800 off because the salesman sold a van to my father-in-law a couple of months ago.

Bam it up another notch? Oh wait, that is a spice weasel.

BAM!

You need to come join the party.

After an interview and tour at the Curse office last week I was pretty sure it was as close to a dream job as I've ever been. This afternoon I finally heard back.

Thursday for lunch will be the final step, a "personality assessment" with the whole team over beers and burgers at the brand new brew pub downtown.

Keep it away from my brain weasel, for one thing. The latter are bad enough, don't want them to have extra sodium as well.

Awesome, just go easy in the beer! Well done!

But what if they're looking for a black out drunk?

You know, I was going to explain, but on second thought it's better like this.

Grats, Cath. Keep us posted.

Sweet deal! Maybe you can finally explain to me what they do aside from throwing parties at PAX East.

Their Curse Client for WoW mods was ridiculously helpful for keeping everything up to date... kind of essential for raid boss timers when things were being refined with a new patch.

We're driving up to Maine today!

Whereabouts you headed?

My MS paint drawing of boobs is being used by Jenn Frank for a game jam

My new house!

My fiance and I closed on Friday. Movers came on Saturday. We still aren't even close to being unpacked and settled, but it's already 1000 times better than being crammed into a 1 bedroom condo. Our new neighborhood is gorgeous and surrounded on 3 sides by a forest preserve. It's pretty sweet!

I don't believe I didn't post this yesterday, as I finally had something worth posting here:

Being a writer for GamersWithJobs!

(Even though I'm technically a Gamer Without a Job at the moment...)

That guy in the background is SO excited. (and rightly so, because holy cow...)

Of course the real problem will be going back to my current job for the rest of the day following lunch.

Solution, call off on the day of the interview. I do that every time simply as a matter of prepping myself better.

My work's collective bargaining agreement has been signed!! That means that the countdown to me buying a new computer and paying off a significant chunk of credit card debt is now much, much closer to reality. I will also soon be able to start actually saving money.

There is a pond just across the street from the new house. For her afternoon walk, I took our dog Sophie for a walk around the pond (only to find out you can't really get all the way around it without going through the forest behind it).

She was loving life.

I must have seen at least a dozen frogs jump into the pond to avoid us. I even saw a beaver. Sophie didn't see the beaver, but she definitely smelled it.

The problem being that I did that for the first interview with them last week and missed the mandatory annual ethics course, so I'm now committed to attending the make-up course, which is immediately after lunch on Thursday... (not that it matters if all goes well, but nothing is set in stone yet)

I was totally waiting for the final picture to be an alligator coming out of the water. So not where I thought that story was going (although in retrospect it probably wouldn't have been in the Love thread unless you really hated the dog).
