Now we see who is really in charge of the Texas legislature:
*gasp* Dr. David Bowman?
My god, it's full of assholes
Or
All these wombs are yours, save Europa's
A former teacher, who is now a Congressman, decided to grade a letter from the GOP to Speaker Boehner. (Translation for non-US GWJers: A bunch of conservative MPs wrote a letter to their leader. A liberal MP, who is a former teacher, decided to grade the letter.)

Bahahahaha! Love that guy!
Please, Please, Please watch Malala deliver her speech to the UN.
Is it just me, or does Mark Hamill look like he's not going to last much longer? And is that a toupee?

He looks like he is angry at the toaster.

It probably killed his parents.
He's spent so much time voicing the Riddler that he can no longer let go of the bitterness that character carries with him. That or he's bummed for not being a part of:

John Glover was the Riddler, Mark Hammil was the Joker. Yeah, you just got nerd-served, yo.
It seems my joke completely missed the mark.

BOO.
Boooooooooooooo.
I think that also deserves a hiss in there, too.
Hissssssss

...Yikes, dude.
Since I'm not certain Anthony Weiner warrants his own thread, I'll just put this here:
...Yikes, dude.
My wife often tells me I have a terrible sense of humor. Also:
I'm still not all that impressed by the Pope's statements on homosexuality. He told people they shouldn't hate homosexuals, but followed it up by explaining that gay sex is still a sin. He has also publicly opposed gay marriage and gay adoption. His current stance seems to just reiterate the whole "hate the sin, love the sinner" message that Catholics have been preaching forever, despite the fact that a lot of folks have never been very good at the "love the sinner" part.
This seems more like a PR campaign than an actual shift in church doctrine.

He's telling people not to be judgy, while suggesting that his religious beliefs be law... and be judgy.
Not impressed... think Right Side of History needs to do some research unless he publicly and openly discards his previous political actions and works to correct them.
That quote was specifically directed at the question of gay men joining the clergy. It's an about-face from the previous Pope's comments that homosexuality was an intrinsic moral evil and that homosexuals should not be allowed to become priests.
Presenting this as support for gay marriage is taking the Pope's comments wildly out of context.

The idea that it is in support of anything but not shunning a growing segment of Catholic clergy to avoid loss of administrative and preaching people to stop the hemorrhaging of the church on this and several other issues is obviously dumb... but taking it to mean that he supports gay rights of any kind is also kind of dumb.

Yep. I'd just ignore the "freedom to marry" logo. But it's still a welcome change in tone.

Agree. Francis can't roll back all of Benedict's bad choices all at once. The Catholic Church may be one of the more progressive major Christian organizations, but they're famous for moving slowly.
Is it just me, or is this picture:

just not funny.
The whole juxtaposition of horrifying images from the Vietnam war and a silly cat picture kind of makes me sick. Not just cringe, like, really upset. The fact that a couple people in that thread commented on how funny the picture was didn't help.
Every now and then, the sense of humor of some goodjers really puzzles me.

I was wondering what was funny about the pictures. I didn't know if there was something I was missing. That really bothered me too.
My first thought was "poor kitty's having flashbacks!" It's bad enough when humans have PTSD...
Oh, I got that it was supposed to be PTSD cat from the cat's expression. To me it would have been equally humorous if the pictures had been dismembered corpses and bombed out city streets. To me it shows a fundamental disrespect toward victims of the atrocities of war. Using the pictures like that - and finding that animation funny - shows a disturbing lack of empathy to me.
