I'm really happy these things are customizable, because I really don't see the appeal of the flip-down player tables. I can see their usefulness for role playing games, but for board games I feel like they would make the players too far away from the table itself, so that if something was happening in the middle of the table they would have to stand and reach. Have any of you found this to be the case?
Also, I feel like for most board games where there is an individual player mat, that info is supposed to be open to everyone - wouldn't it be hard to see what's in someone's flip-down?
I think I'd rather forgo the individual player tables and just get a bigger surface area, since most board games with substantial hidden information come with their own covers anways.
What are your thoughts? In what situations do those flipdowns come in handy?
I feel like I'd want a war room style push rod thing to move stuff around on the table. Perhaps with some sort of gripper.

They sell that, too.

I need a house so bad...
My table is actually pretty big without those, so it's already hard to reach fully across the width of the table (nevermind length). But when you need that extra space for characters or sheets or cards or extra components, they're very nice.
One thing I really like about your table is that it stands a lot higher than a dining table. Those gaming tables are so big that for anything involving a large board or map you really want to get over it to see what's going on, and this would feel really uncomfortable if it were standard height. I stood at your table for hours playing Game of Thrones and the height was about perfect for that. It seems like that decision would be a small one when building the table, but for actually using it I think it's more significant than whatever cool stuff is built into the sides.
We broke in the new table over the holidays. Lots of fun.

Looks great for minis/RPG, how does that table size work for playing board games in the pit?

I'm actually a little jealous that this spammer took a perfectly good user name.
Not sure if this really counts as furniture (maybe more like accessories?) but sumo bean bags are fantastic:
I have the 2 person one, the *ahem* intimate one, and bought a few kid versions for my nieces and nephews.
Got one after one of my brothers got one and I thought, "really? a bean bag?" but once you try one, ZOMG!
The intimate one? O_o

Adding it to the shopping list.
You wouldn't think there was much cross over between gaming furniture and intimate furniture...

In a pinch, a quick swipe of the arm to clear the contents of a table onto the floor, and any sturdy tabletop leads to some great RPG.
Reminds me, can't wait until boyfriend comes over this weekend, we'll try out that new expansion pack ^^
