Steam Summer Sale 2013 - It's never really over

On my list,

Dragonborn Skyrim DLC
Far cry 3
Hotline Miami
Witcher 2

And a few other indie games that I'm sure will be very cheap.

The next few months are going to be expensive for gaming, at least for me, with both Total War Rome 2 and Europa Universalis 4 set to arrive. With that said I will try to keep it on the cheap side.

Seriously. Why are they still wasting time on that abortion of a series?

I would counter with "Seriously. Have you even tried any of the games since the first one?"

Both Fallen Enchantress and Legendary Heroes have done very well in review scores. Writing off the entire series because one game was a giant pile of Wardell-crap isn't exactly fair or objective.

I've just received a Gift.

The sale hasn't even started.

Insanity! insanity that's what it is!

Rickyyo is a Gentleman and a Scholar, thank you for sending me DOTA 2 completely out of the blue : ) I'll make sure to spread some love next holiday sale.

Guys. It's Dota2. Who wants copies? I think I have a dozen.

I have a real pre-sale gift for anyone who wants it... It involves Ponies and Unicorns and Secrets. One of the secrets is that the ponycorn is carrying a second gift:

Thanks!

Looking forward to it, but will probably watch from the sidelines, since I just splurged to update my rig.
When does the insanity start, by the way? Soonish?

Just filled my Steam account in anticipation. Poker Night 2 was tempting to buy as a gift today, but I figure that it will show up even cheaper when the sale actually strikes.

I find that this is a good time to update my wishlist with the top 10 games that I actually want, over the instinctive wishlist-ing that comes with each new, shiny game. I also like to eliminate the games that I probably wont ever get around to, even if they somehow, mysteriously, end up in my pile.

I updated my wishlist, to get the e-mail notifications when they're on sale, but they're all games I kind of want. Nothing I'm excited about. Chances are I'll be gifting more than buying for myself. I expect huge discounts on Civ V for instance, since the expansion is about to be released. I'll probably get some extra copies for later gifting.

I tried the first one and wasn't eligible to get the 2nd one for free. Star dock consider me as 2nd class customer . I payed like 30$ or so on the first and I'm not satisfied with a 10$ discount on a 40$~ game on release.

The first game isn't that horrible but it reminds me of Civ series too much which is a series I don't particularly like and the spells were also lacking. There is still hope in the form of Worlds of Magic. I also bought Warlock: Master of the Arcane last year which was a great buy.

Gonna start a bit early this year. I have a copy of Brink - The Complete Pack to give away to the first non-grinder that wants it :-)

Nobody wants a freebie? Strange days ahead

Hey guys,
New member here. I'm extremely excited for this year's summer sale as well! So many things to buy! However living in New Zealand has its ups and downs. One of those downs being much higher game prices. I'm very tempted in buying a few games this year, however I'm unsure if I will because of the price differences.

I was wondering for those kind people who live in the USA, whether they would be kind enough to perhaps gift me a game or two I'm on the hunt for...
Of course this is not for free however, and payment would soon follow. (whichever method is decided)

If your happy too, and nice enough too ill be for ever greatful!
Message me please!
Thanks,
Scott

Spoiler:

To be fair, it's Brink.

While this is true, surely even if it gives someone 3 minutes of entertainment, it's still better than rotting away doing nothing...

Not a great change, but maybe someone would be more interested in Doom 3 BFG Edition. Steam key, of course.

Edit: On that note, Brink is gone.

We try to help the members who live in countries which oppress its gamer population but it's usually better to be more active than a Coffee grinder . In the sale usually customary for people to send each other gifts. There are also people who organize together to buy a 4 packs.

I'm from Israel so some games are region locked but I get $ pricing. I usually don't ask for people to get me region locked games because I think that if the publisher doesn't want my money I just won't play their game. There are people who go the extra mile and get a Russian version because those licenses are extremely cheap though you sometime get Russian dubbed games.

I'm hoping so. I have a friend who asked me what civilization is. He's never played one!

If I recall correctly, I have a copy of the oddbox for the first nongrinder to pm me.

Well, that's my favorite thing today =)

Just checking in. I honestly will likely not be buying a single thing since I don't have money for it, but I'll be watching the meta-game.

Oh, and +1 to the thread. Are we looking to set a new post record prior to the sale starting?

That's a game in itself! Lets go!

Really hoping Blood Dragon goes on sale! Would also love to get a discounted Prison Architect but I don't think thats going to happen.

You know what? After the last sale (and accompanying somewhat unplayed pile) I'm not sure there's much I really want. I mean, sure there's a few of the newer titles that I might like but they'd have to be at really good prices for me to bite.

So, in one sense, I'm excited but I'm fully expecting to not desire anything. Maybe just a *few* gifts...

I'm hoping to pick up Little Inferno and Thomas Was Alone to add to my pile make up for missing out on the last Humble Bundle.

Since I FINALLY just finished the first game, I'm hoping for a sweet price on Borderlands 2 with a bunch of DLC included. $10 would be nice...

Oh no! We're already talking about the Steam sale and I haven't finished The Last of Us or State of Decay yet!

I'm not really looking to participate this year other than maybe to get one of my wishlist games for cheap (Here's looking at you Swapper/Gunpoint/Prison Architect!). But I barely have enough time for TLOU or SoD right now, so I think I'm gonna stay on the sidelines for ohhh, I dunno...a day? Then get wrangled in the madness and cry at my already beaten up wallet.

But I barely have enough time

That's the real catcher for me, it's not so much the will the games am interested in go on sale (because they most likely will...). It's the will I have time to play them when I buy them.

BL2 Psycho DLC, Far Cry 3+Blood Dragon, Prison Architect, Poker Night 2 (though I may pick that up today, since it's less than $3.50), a few gifts, and maybe some impulse buys. I'm always looking for a good bargain on some indie game.

I'm betting on after July 4th week for the start, if there's a sale at all. I've had the feeling they might be shooting themselves in the foot with the big sales, but I'm also not swimming in cash like Gabe.
