Steam Summer Sale 2013 - It's never really over

Pages

It was inevitable. We all knew it was coming. Why fight against the tide?

So! Steam Summer Sale 2013! Like most of you, I don't see myself buying any major games. That said, there are still some games on my wishlist that I wouldn't mind picking up for cheap. Notable examples include the Skyrim expansions, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Revelations, and perhaps a few smaller games.

What are you looking forward to? Any guesses as to what the badges will be? DISCUSS!

Handy flowchart, thanks to Dax:

Wordsmythe edit: Steam Sale Community Vote

Hooray! My budget's going to a PS4 this year, so I doubt I'll participate much, but I can't wait to watch the insanity

Any idea when it will start?
My wallet is ready.

Of course I already got everything, I'm sure they wont tempt me this year...

Looking at my wishlist there is
Remember Me
Fez
Far Cry 3
Magic 2014
Skyrim Expansions

As always the real threat is probably coming from those games I weren't looking at until they showed up at that evil sub-$5 price.

Wait... we weren't suppose to start the insanity yet?!

Umm... oops?

Oh hay, 2013 steam sale thread!

This year I got nothing.

Well, I got no idea what to wait or get. FarCry3 seem nice, the base game.

I think gifting will be again this year game.

I have most of the big ticket items I want, and have such a huge backlog that I'm fairly content with that. I do have my eyes on a few indie games, like Miasmata, Element4l, Gunpoint and a few adventure games. Wargame: Airland Battle looks pretty interesting so if the drops enough and my will power fails that will probably be the big ticket item for me.

At least not until the end of the Paradox Interactive sale, I'd imagine.

I have a few new things on my Wish list that I might look to grab. Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, Don't Starve and Miasmata come to mind.

There's some speculation that since the Steam Trading Card beta is ending next Thursday, that the sale could start then in conjunction with the launch of the trading card program. Makes sense that Steam would incorporate the trading cards into the sale theme to promote the new program, but who knows if that means next Thursday or sometime in July.

I'm actually more excited for this year's sale than last year's, as I have a few more things on my wishlist (and less of a backlog). I'd like to pick up Don't Starve, Monaco, Euro Truck Simulator 2, and a few others. Plus, like plavonica, I'm looking for Rocksmith DLC on sale.

Plus, gifting!

A solid 75% of everything would be nice

I'm looking forward to this sale. I can feel it already. It's going to be awesome!!!

A few games at the top of my wishlist that I'd definitely grab if they get a deep discount are StarDrive, Trials Evolution Gold, Call of Juarez Gunslinger, and FC3 Blood Dragon.

Indeed. Like the last couple Steam sales, I may end up doing more gifting transactions than buying games for myself.

OMG IT'S HEEEEEEEEEERRRRREEEEeeee........

Wait? WHAT?!

Spoiler:

So far this thread disappoints

Looks like Skyrim, Stardrive, Tomb Raider, and Crysis 2 are all on my wishlist waiting for this sale. Any of them hit $10 or less, probably will get. Remember Me will probably have to wait for the holiday sale this winter.

Otherwise, I want to pick up Poker Night 2, some Defense Grid DLC, Strike Suit Infinity DLC, etc. Lots of things that are only $5, but I might as well get them for $1-2.

Scanning my wishlist

Two of the smaller games were in a recent humble bunbundlet I purchased. I should add those Stream codes soon. .I'll never make much time for the bigger titles. Euro Truck Simulator 2 is the only one that looks really novel but I would still probably get less than ten hours out of it. That would have to be a deep sale, too.

Come one rocksmith dlc. I also have a friend who has never played any civilization game, so that'd be worthwhile.

Also, would love a sale on age of empires 2 hd.

I would love Rocksmith for < $10.

I've had time for a grand total of about 60 minutes of gaming in the last 6 weeks or so. If valve could put time on sale, that'd be great.

Demand would crash the severs in a heartbeat.

I too would buy a heap for myself, and gift plenty to others.

I'm plunking $40 for OOTP14, plus bought another copy for a GWJer, so I'm probably out of this one. Unless a ridiculous deal appears, of course. My pile is already too big, and I've had almost no time for playing since last sale.

I'm curious what now qualifies as a ridiculous deal. I remember the days that -75% or -80% seemed ridiculous...

My wishlist:

That AAA game I'm too busy to play.
Half a dozen of those indie hits that will probably get a massive cut
The expansion to that MMO I still have installed but never play
That game that everybody's played but somehow I've avoided spoilers and will accidentally hear them all 2 seconds after I buy the game
The game I had no interest in at all until it was OMG SO CHEAP
That game I already have 2 copies for but don't have a Steam copy of even though I'll never play it again but whatevs it's a STEAM copy
And of course Kerbal Space Program

Steam Summer Sale

Thursday, June 24 (2010)
Thursday, June 30 (2011)
Thursday, July 12 (2012)

I'm also guessing this Thursday.

My wish would be that all the Train Simulator addons were 2 bucks or less. It'll never happen but I'll keep dreaming.
Already watching Cities in Motion 2 for the Paradox sale as well as Cities in Motion 1 expansion packs/DLC to see if they get a deeper cut.
Hoping Anno 2070 gets a really deep cut.
Would like to see Poker Night 2 go for a nice discount.
Then there are the obvious things like Kerbal, Prison Architect, and Bully.

I used to complete every game I ever bought.... Then Steam sales happened and now I finish the ones I really like.

Got a few things on my wishlist and some presents to throw about. Sales are pretty much the only way I buy these days so this stuff should do me for a year again.

I suspect they won't kick it off on the July 4 holiday here in the US, so I'm guessing either June 26 or July 11.

I know it makes me a bad person to want this sale to start after the end of July since I can't really justify participating in it when I have to save for closing costs on the new house but so be it. There actually aren't many big games I've been holding out on but there are a few indies I haven't been sure of that I'd be happy to grab for half off.

No complaining until we're 1000 posts in.

I'd like a deeper discount on D.m.C. than they had a few weeks back. It was just north of my buy point.

Far Cry 3 is all I'm holding on for.

As usual, I assume I'll gift more than I get for myself. I like sharing good things that I can pick up for great prices.

This, Monaco, and hopefully some of the Trackmania franchise. Also hoping that the Psycho class for Borderlands 2 sees a cut.
