3DS Catch-all

That Tomb Raider money had to come from somewhere.

This is a crime against humanity. Square has much to answer for.

I have a hard time holding it against them. They made a new DS game and remade the original for PSP. If they don't think releasing it on PSN is worth it, I'm sure they have solid financial reasons.

They can't stand the thought of more people playing the game?

Oh no, just what I need...a relapse into Picross addiction.

I bought Picross e, which was released last week. I really enjoy these types of puzzles. I remember hunting down a copy of Mario Picross back when I had a Game Boy Color, and I loved it. Later on, they released Picross DS, which unfortunately required you to zoom in and pan around in order to do 15x15 puzzles. I just couldn't finish it. This new version lets you do 15x15 puzzles without zooming. Also, you get 150 puzzles, and it's only $6. It may be bare-bones, but it is a steal. I would prefer a left handed mode, so I could toggle (and not press to hold) between filling square and marking empty squares with the buttons on the right side. Anyway, if you liked previous Picross games, then I highly recommend it.

I've always wanted them to make another 3D Picross game. I got addicted to that on in the DS in an unhealthy way.

Not me, the 3D one never felt right to me, but playing it in 3D would be cool.

The zoom on the DS was annoying as hell. My buddy wouldn't play it because of that, but I powered through and got use to it simply because Picross is soooooooo much fun.

Honestly, I've never seen the appeal of Picross. *shrug*

I really enjoyed Picross 3D, except for the fact that the puzzles were timed. Some at the end were very difficult to complete in 30 minutes.

Picross can be very addicting. I buy a book of puzzles or play a video game version every few years to get my fix.

I just took out my first dragon in EO IV! w00t.

My Project X Zone should be here within the hour. I am at work, so I won't be able to play it until tonight.

Anyone try it out yet?

Does the e shop do day one digital? I need to know if I'm going to the store for Project X Zone or if I'll be able to download it today.

Yes, but it depends on the game.

Didn't you ask that before you bought it? :p

It should be up in the eShop, although sometimes the eShop doesn't update until a little later in the day. But yes, most releases get day one digital releases these days.

Did I? Sorry if I did. I remember asking if all games are also digital, I think...I dunno. Too lazy to check with my phone. Thanks though.

3DS games are getting in on the crowdfunding, too: AeternoBlade. It's a side-scrolling game inspired by Castlevania, Muramasa, and Braid, and it needs a little help with a North American localization.

I- just went through the 3DS spreadsheet and added nearly every-one (on a search to get a couple friends, specifically for Animal Crossing). If any of you on there get a moment, can you please add me? Clizznas - 5386-7876-0381 (I also added this to the spreadsheet, just trying to make it easier). Thanks!

Added. Welcome to the throng!

Added you as well, feel free to add me back. I tend to play with my town gates open, stop by anytime!

Whoops, chairkicker, somehow missed you were looking for Animal Crossing players. I'm not one, unfortunately. I tend to just add anyone who asks. Still...welcome!

Practically every street pass I've seen lately has been playing Animal Crossing. That's impressive.

The joys of life in flyover country: I have never once gotten a single Streetpass. Ever.

I've also added my info to the Google doc. If anyone adds me let me know. I added Blind, ces, dsgamer, ahrez, atras, and...some others that I can't remember.

Instead of going to the gym this morning, I spent 45 minutes adding everyone in the spreadsheet to my friends list. Please add me back, particularly if you want to have a window into my unhealthy gaming habits! Or visit me in Animal Crossing, whichever.

Really? Even here in the Indianapolis suburbs my kids have snagged enough in the past year to finish all of the puzzles. The number of streetpasses really picked up last fall.

EDIT: After giving it some thought, streetpassing as an adult here wouldn't actually be that easy. Around 90% of their "real"* passes only occur at kid heavy events/places such as the zoo, the children's museum, school performances, school sporting events, Girl Scouts, etc. Without kids, you're not likely to be around the kid-heavy crowds necessary to streetpass here.

Additionally, my kids would only have around half the number of passes needed to complete the puzzles because they also have the ability to pass with each other and have been able to quickly share any new pieces.

*excludes all the mostly useless ones from store kiosks

As an adult, 3DS owning, Indianapolis resident, I can confirm that it is not easy to get street passes. Maybe I should lurk at the Children's Museum for a while and stalk some small children with 3DSs, or your kids could take my 3DS to school for a few days

That said, I'm not a fan of street pass specific goodies tucked away in games. I'm going to be very sad if some good content is street pass limited in the upcoming Pokemon title. My one and only street pass was from Pencon last year

I'll be curious if you guys get more StreetPasses when they turn places like Starbucks into relays.

Just loiter in front of elementary schools asking kids to come a little closer so you can tag them. It will go great, I promise.

Ditto to all of what Dyni said, and I live in a city far less populous than Indianapolis.

I have tried carrying my 3DS all over in sleep mode, and seriously: I've yet to get a single StreetPass. It's frustrating when games have StreetPass-specific content (like the HH house stuff in Animal Crossing) because that's a feature I know will never work for me. Sure, they put the HH house thing into a spotpass function too allegedly, but I haven't had a single house show up anywhere in the HH spotlight, and I suspect it's something to do with Streetpass being a barren wasteland for me.

*shrug*

I too hope that the new Pokemon titles are as robust on Spotpass and Friends features as they will no doubt be on StreetPass. Seriously Nintendo, give us unlucky bastards the same features as people who live in StreetPass Heaven.

Boston is pretty desolate too. I think I've taken my 3DS into town and only walked away with a couple of hits on any given weekend day. That might be different now that everyone + dog is playing AC.

Regginator didn't show up for you?

I don't get much, probably average 1.2 a day in Seattle and that's because I take public transit. That average has jumped a lot in the last week though, I assume because of Animal Crossing.
