Heh, well if you already traded it thinking, "I've done all the driving I need to in this game", then the 1000 Club shouldn't be enough to rope you back in. It's basically makework, though I don't mean that pejoratively: it's just a reason to keep driving, if you need a little direction, however shallow it might be.

That said, if you still enjoy the driving, that might be enough. And it's free and comes with an old-timey truck and a fake Porsche. I tooled around with it this morning, and liked it. It's functionally identical to the Sponsor Challenges (except those at least reward XP—I didn't notice if there's any reward for completing the 1000 Club challenges, or incentive beyond trying new cars), only car-specific. Smash objects, do a J-turn, win such-and-such an event, and so on.

And it really is five challenges per car for every car ever released, so even the three different F-150 Raptors have their own separate suite of challenges. For instance, one of the Audi quattro's challenges is to perform a jump, but you won't get the medal if you jump the Audi quattro LCE livery, like I did...

Man, that's a really neat way to get people to test out most all the cars in the game.

I didn't realize the patch was already released.

Bah, I was hoping they'd do a sale on the season pass to coincide with the release of this pack -- no such luck, though, I suppose.

Just picked this up a couple of days ago. It has been fun to try and win at the rival's races and beat scores for the speed traps. If anyone else who has played this or is still playing it wants to add me, that would be awesome. At least I have m0nk3yboy's scores to try and beat.

I also tried joining the GWJ club, not certain how that works though.

I started doing the Scavenger Hunts the other, and they're pretty fun—and reward unicorns. I've completed one so far, and finally got the S204 for Fourza (my choice). It's pretty much the easiest way to earn unicorns, and a fun way to tool around Forizon (maybe knock off some 1000 Club challenges too).

The clue is posted in the Week in Review articles on ForzaMotorsport.net (e.g. this week's). Figure out where it is (or wait until a few guesses have been posted in the thread, then deduce where it is), take a screenshot and post it in the weekly thread, along with your Gamertag and requested unicorn.

I also discovered that the even once your Popularity rank is 1st, it can still earn you dollas. When I reached 1st way back when, I noticed the circle was still filling. What happens when it finally fills? 0th place? I finally found out tonight when it maxed out and rewarded a tidy 500,000 CR, then emptied back out again. Nice thinking, Playground. The Sponsor Challenge rewards can be a little paltry and so not as incentivizing after that much playing, compared to how much money you might have banked by then. So knowing that you can't actually max out Popularity encourages continuing to earn skill XP, and the reward isn't insignificant (I had 2.1M CR before then, and don't play online, so that's a noticeable gift).

Just noticed this was $14.99 on the one day sale over xbox live. If you guys are still playing this, send me an invite!

I got this in the sale the other day. Why didn't I buy this before? What a cool game! Everything just clicks for me, or it did when I worked out how to move the radio from the rock channel to the indie channel, anyway.

I think I saw a different team had done it, and I sort of dismissed it as a Treyarch-esque fobbing off. It feels like a Forza game with all the friction gone. That can sometimes rob a game of character, but we'll have to see. I've just got my pink wristband, so I'm not exactly zooming through it. It's nice to be able to take a break from racing to hunt down some upgrade billboards or get some 1000 club medals. I often find the final races in Forza games a bit unfun, but hopefully there'll be enough variety here to keep me playing.

Turning the music off is just about the first thing I do in games, just to save myself annoyance. Guess that's showing my age a bit.

I too was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't a Forza hack job, but a good combination of Forza and Test Drive Unlimited.

I highly recommend turning off the drive line as it makes the game more fun and nets you more money.

So, Forza Rewards. I like the idea, even though I won't advance any farther right now short of starting a new Forza game (even Forza 2 (!), the only one I skipped). It's a neat way to tie the series together, and provides the only sensible reward, for mostly sensible but some questionable (buy tokens? Blech) objectives, for a Forza game: unicorn cars or the means to buy cars (even tokens).

Mind, I earn more unicorns taking a schnitz—I mean taking part in the weekly Scanvenger Hunts. Still, every little bit helps, whether for players (more cars) or Microsoft (players holding on to their discs).

I'm also on the top of my 54-Goodjers friends list, which is the first time I've ever been number one in anything video games-related. So allow me to reflect on this ephemeral nigh-pointless achievement with a momentary SUCK IT FRIENDS.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised as well when I opened up the news page over at the Forza website last week. Turn 10 really does seem to go a bit further than most developers in finding ways to build and maintain an invested player community. Also, this gives them a convenient way to give a nice little boost to long time players at the start of Forza 5 even though they won't have access to previous save files as they did for Forza 4 and Horizon.

I like the idea, even though I won't advance any farther right now short of starting a new Forza game (even Forza 2 (!), the only one I skipped).

Likewise, although I have been thinking of firing up Horizon again and finally playing the Rally content as well as checking out the "1000 club" stuff, which I suppose might get me pretty close to "tier 5" (which I assume must be the highest tier for now, given the drastic jump in rewards from tier 4). I will admit I was briefly tempted by the wild imaginings of what wild bonuses tier 5 folks will be getting in Forza 5, but I'm definitely far enough way that it would be a crazy investment of time to get there before November.

Yeah, I was shocked to find only one person higher than me on mine (Landshark). I never get too hardcore about achievements or coimpletionism, but apparently I've played a lot more Forza than I realized.

On the subject of rewards, has anyone else had any luck redeeming theirs? Mine don't seem to be working at all.

Try with different browsers at different times of day. It can be a bit... finicky.

Yeah, the first batch was instant, but this new batch took a few tries over the course of a day.

Finicky? Well, I suppose if by finicky, you mean "You have to use IE or MS tells you to go pee up a rope", then it is indeed finicky. I'd been trying with Chrome(it just hangs) and tried with Firefox(did nothing) before using IE(worked like a charm).

Thanks guys

Ahh, so that's the trick!

Looks like I'll have to dual boot to get it then...

Gravey, did you trigger them on the Mac, or did you wander over to the other OS?

I'm not even going to try it on iOS.

Mac. It worked immediately in Safari for the first batch, and in Mobile Safari (I was on my phone) eventually for the second batch.

Finickiness aside, I really like the look of the site, and how it scales to different devices. Flat design is so hot right now.

So far the Tier 5 stuff has been a couple million credits in both Forza Horizon and Forza 4.

IGN: Forza Horizon 2 Announced.

Looks like my 360 will still have some gas left in the tank come this fall.

While it was a pretty terribly kept secret, it's great to have it confirmed for this fall (odd that it wasn't saved for E3 though).

It is, however, slightly concerning that they're going multi-platform with it, because it would be a shame to have the Xbox One version be compromised by limitations of the Xbox 360 hardware. Sure, there is a separate team working on the 360 port, but it could still be an undesirable factor.

South of Europe sounds like an excellent setting though, and weather will be a very welcome addition. Now, let's just have a whole mess of rally content included up front this time, and I'll be just about as excited as I can be.

I'm happy to hear that its being made for 360 despite a different team doing it.

Agreed.

Not in the market for an XBO in spite of Forza & Horizon being my favorite racing franchises to date.

Exceeding happy to see a 360 port of Horizon 2.

I know they've timed the announcement for E3, but E3 immediately follows Rally Italia, so yeah that would be apropos.

Interested to see how it works on 360, especially with the weather.

Provisionally resigned about another focus-grouped douchebro festival frame story—and I use those last three words very loosely. At least let us pick the gender, skin colour, and target-demo'ed-product-placement-accessory of the arms we have to look at. Non-white women like to play car games too.

Ditto! I assumed it would be XBO-exclusive, which made me sad. Glad there's still some time left in my good old 360. I'm holding out as long as I can before I have to make a choice between a PS4 and an XBO, because I just won't have budget room for both systems.

Sumo Digital will be the developer for the Xbox 360 version. Looks like they have a decent resume as a contract dev house, and it also looks like they picked up former team members from Bizarre and Black Rock (two of the half dozen or so British developers whose former employees started Playground Games). Not that Microsoft was likely to have given short shrift to the 360 version anyway, but it does seem like they made a decent choice of teams to handle the port.

I would have preferred a PGR title, but it's pretty clear that Horizon now serves that role for Microsoft. While the open world was fun at first, it got old for me after awhile. I really do just want to pick races and advance, not drive to an event. I'm hoping FH2 will streamline some of this stuff.

Since IGN seems to be rolling out info a regular pace here, I figured I'd start a new thread for the sequel.
