Marvel Heroes - Catch All

Very nice patch, but super bummed on a couple of the major issues not being fixed yet.

Supergroups, elite and champion mob health, and DOT power incorrect tooltip values just seem like they shoulda be absolutely set in stone and fixed before final live release....can't believe they aren't working.

Yeah I logged in an respecced my Hulk and the power that was missing is pretty awesome. Also, I feel like I have a much more focused build now, since I had a point in at least everything to try it, knowing the respec was coming. Now I'm focused on defense, leaping attacks, and primary attacks. Love it.

Is there any "things I wish I knew" type posts that would help out a total noob?

I found a "pro tips" thread on the forums here: https://forum.marvelheroes.com/showt...

I'm still pretty new though, so there are probably better threads out there, but I did find quite a bit of that useful.

Is there any "things I wish I knew" type posts that would help out a total noob?

Here's three tips:

1. The Bodyslider button (house icon in upper right corner) is this game's "town portal". Press it to teleport back to Avengers tower (i.e. town) and then press it again to return to where you left from (I just found about pressing it to return yesterday).

2. You can donate items to vendors in order to upgrade them. Hold down alt and right-click to donate to vendors. I recommend leveling up the crafting vendor (Hank Pym) first.

3. If you right click on a mouse triggered power (so the powers mapped to left-click or right click), you'll see all the powers that can be mapped to those buttons. If you mouse over any of the power icons and press F1-F6, you'll map that key to that power so you can switch RMB powers by selecting the F1-F6. You can also remap F1-F6 to other keys.

That's all I can think of right now.

Things you might not know that you want to know but you just might not know you need to know but now you will know:

1. Open your inventory and view your character sheet. There's a few tabs to your character sheet. View all the tabs.

On the page showing the colored bars for durability, strength, etc. Mouse over EACH AND EVERY SINGLE BUBBLE OF EACH BAR!

It will show you exactly what you gain from each stat point in those stats like durability and it will show you at what level you unlock each new bubble in each one!!!!

This is important, cause it will show not show a level to unlock a bubble that you will never unlock.

Black Widow unlocks all but the last bubble of fighting eventually through level ups. I have a +1 fighting costume core in my inventory (drop late in the game only from what i've seen and require over a level 7, but not sure what level crafter) so that may be a good costume core to give black widow if i'm going melee widow to get the maximum buffs from fighting stat.

It also shows you what defense reductions you get from durability. Maybe widow has a low durability and she's always in melee so i need to find and save a durability costume core for her.

View the stats page for the other stats that shows "defense" "energy defense" "mental defense" etc etc etc. Mouse over each one. It will tell you exactly what you get from each point of these different defenses. It's immediately apparently to me how flat defense is always better than say "energy defense" but that getting a bonus to energy defense along with high and bonus flat defense may be really good for say Dr Doom and Magneto fights.

And that was number 1.

Number 2: Rest exp is amazing, you should do two characters at once unless yer really hardcore.

Letter 3: Don't be afraid of the "warp story progress buttons". You will not lose progress. You can always warp foward and you don't lose access to end game missions nor to any waypoints you've unlocked on your account. Once unlocked, a waypoint is unlocked permanently for your account.

Stick it note 4: Hawkeye is not super. He's human.

Old Scroll of hints 4.5: Mouse over mob, health bar shows up on top of screen for mob. Health bar popup has color code in top right. Grey = you suck, move up. Green = appropriate level content, it's somewhere within a level or 2 of you. Orange = Don't you feel badass, just wait'll you meet Magneto, go farm till it's green! Red = quit trying to be a loser and get carried, when you resurrect, go back to your own level content.

Deadpool's wise saying 5: Crafter levels are account wide. Merchant levels are account wide. Level 7 crafter unlocks Transfer epic level 13-24 ( you'll understand why this is listed here later when playing). Level 10-12 upgrade blue to epic is broken, doesn't work, at least for most people, major issue that's not recognized by them yet. Deadpool can't upgrade storm's underwear, storm has to upgrade her own underwear, but if storm upgraded some unused underwear to epic from blue, then deadpool could craft that into an awesome new face mask.

Deadpool is worth 10 normal heroes. -Sez Deadpool.

1-900-Scarlet Female Doggo tipline 6: You get level 1 of your ultimate power unlocked free at level 30. Getting llevel 2 of your ultimate? That requires using a character drop token! So you have to have Scarlet witch then use another character token of scarlet witch to level up the ultimate power. This cannot be done via the store as the store doesn't give you tokens, it directly unlocks the toon and you cannot buy it twice.

Character drops are rare. If you REALLY wanna play hard and hardcore with a toon you get a character drop token of, consider buying the character to unlock it and saving the character token to level up the ultimate! woohoo!

I'm almost level 31 on deadpool so....ask me anything.. I'm working on a black widow using rest exp now too.

Level 10-12 upgrade blue to epic is broken, doesn't work, at least for most people, major issue that's not recognized by them yet.

This was fixed in the last patch (the one from today's early morning maintenance).

And clearly by the content of Fuzzball's post, he's been playing entirely too much Deadpool this weekend. He's like channeling him now.

Fortune cards. .. MUST HAVE MORE FORTUNE CARDS!!

Only bought 5 or so tonight but I could see them becoming addictive heh. This game is a lot of fun! Got hulk up to 9, my vendors up to 3, and my crafting guy up to 2.

Played 90 minutes tonight and enjoyed it. Picked Daredevil for my starter hero, and he seems fine. I don't really know much about it, but I plan on putting in some hours.

It keeps crashing to a black screen for me. I picked the thing for my starter hero. He seems okay so far.

Level the crafting guy immediately and forget about the shops.

Shops never sell better than green from what I can tell.

But you get a crafting recipe to upgrade blue items you have to purple. And another to convert purples for another character to purples for the one you're playing

By level 8 of the game and level 3 or 4 of the crafter, you should never be playing in less than purple gear. Never.

Stop even picking up whites at that point. Stop picking up greens eventually.

Unless they've changed it recently, the shop vendors do offer blues at higher levels. I think they've got a chance to at 4, and it's more frequent at 5.

How do I level up crafters and merchants? Is it more than just repeated use?

Yeah instead of selling items you donate them. Hold in alt when you have the window up and when you mouse over an item it will tell you the xp value instead of credit value. Just right click while holding alt and it will donate, and level up the vendor/crafter.

So is this still in beta? I've been thinking of getting it for my son, but I don't him to have to deal with typical beta instabilities.

It was officially released yesterday, June 4th.

Yeah there's still a lot of bugs, and even the known issues list is pretty big. I posted patch notes a page back I think.

Its a free game, so even if they have bugs, not like you have to spend money. It's not a pay to win game. You can beat the game with one character without paying a dime. If you want more characters, you can buy them, or rarely they will drop.

Huh. I had seen the Donate tab. I guess "Donate" isn't what I would have called that if I were the dev.

Yeah I saw a post in the bug forum last night, some guy was saying that he crafted stuff and the crafter didn't go up in xp. Because the recipes have a number on them, 50, 75, 100, etc. And he thought that was the xp earned by crafting that recipe, but that's actually the credit cost of each recipe.

Just shows how different this is from most other games where you level up a skill by using it. Definitely could use more help/tutorial/tooltips/load screen tips about some things.

The crafter/vendor levels definitely changed from earlier in beta.

It looks like there's 20 levels to both vendors and crafter.

I've only got my crafter to level 8 now and my gear vendor to level 4 or 5. He lists 4 greens and a grey now each refresh. I'd guess in 2-3 more levels he'll get 1 blue slot. or randomly start showing a blue. that's a lot of effort, so i'm focusing on crafter still. Need to be able to craft costume cores into costumes but that's not available yet at vendor level 8...so i'll keep pushing him.

If you have Iron Man and want a costume via Alienware giveaway.

Thanks!

I picked the thing and after defeating the second boss I believe, I was awarded daredevil. So I don't know if that happens more later or I was just lucky or it is scripted as an aaward for the thing. To be honest, I was hoping for the scarlet witch or storm. I wonder though if I start a new game with daredevil, whether it will award someone different when I beat the second boss.

Yeah you get a token there and another when you finish chapter 8.

Guaranteed starter 5 hero token. But can be a duplicate. I got Thing for both of mine.

Have restarted prologue with another character and did not get a token at that point this time around though.

I love that they do that. I picked The Thing as my starter, bought the Cyclops Starter Pack and got Hawkeye after Green Goblin. My kids picked Hawkeye and Scarlett Witch, and got Thing and Storm for their random reward. It would have been nice to have a Daredevil in the mix, but it is still cool to give people a potential extra starter, and apparently a duplicate can be useful after level 30, too.

How does that work? A duplicate after level 30 that is...

Each hero has an Ultimate power at level 30. You get one rank in it for free. The only way to level it up more is by using a hero token of that hero. Which generally only come as lucky drops.

This also encourages you to buy a hero even when you get their token drop, to save the token for level 30. It's an interesting design.

Grrr. Stele-hausered!
