Official Red Orchestra 2 Game Nights

Yessir. It's been too long.

Will try and be there.

Jumping on here to test out the new headset, but I should be in game in about 15 minutes.

Posting to confirm people are playing.

Nice. We had about 8 GWJrs in the room come 9:30. I think we'll try again next week. Good games all!

Sorry about my technical difficulties with Vent, and thanks for putting up with my ineptness at this brutal-ass game. Thank you, sirs, may I have another?

I had a blast inside the tank last night for one.

There was some confusion about spawning in, so lemme unpack what I learned.

I selected Tank Commander on the Role list, then selected to allow other humans in the tank. When I spawned in though I was the first into the tank, and became the driver. Others then spawned in starting with MG position, then gunner. We never quite got a full crew, but when a fourth arrived I was magically ported to the comander position.

As we took fire positions were knocked out and crew members killed, shown as a red skull and bones in the lower left. New crew could not spawn in until the tank itself blew, whick makes sense: How do I add crew when buttoned and there's only infantry around? I get a new tank with a new crew is how. That may well explain the errors that people were seeing as they tried to occupy positions that were knocked out at the role list.

The solution will be for 4-5 people to identify as the tank crew and occupy those slots early. Then, when they are knocked out, patiently wait for the tank to blow and be able to rejoin the fight.

Additionally, when we were engaging the Russian tank from around the corner cyrax put 5+ rounds into it before it blew. I'm pretty sure that's because we were underestimating the damage model. I've seen diagrams where vulnerable locations are mapped out. Clearly the front 2 feet of a T-series' bow is not the vulnerable part We should find those maps. I haven't seen them updated for RO2 yet, but I'm betting they're the same from RO1.

Considering how boss some people were in the tanks during beta, I imagine the soft spots are similar to the previous game.

I'll try and make it, but I work Wednesday nights so I may not be able to talk and will randomly disappear for some times.

We have 3 threads for this game and I'm gonna post this here.

Tomorrow is President's Day in the US. Some of us have the day off and even those who don't should be able to get together for a RO2 match.

So, expect to see me on in the evening. I'd love to see some other peeps online. Hockosi said his mom will be joining us. I promise I'll be kind to her.

That's a messed up way to talk about your father.

I'll be around.

I'll make some time.

Anyone up for some RO2 this week?

Edit: Don't listen to me, I'm entirely too busy to play. lol

If anyone was curious this is available for 1$

New expansion out "Rising Storm" which features the Pacific theater.
You can play Rising Storm maps without owning it; however, it locks you to Rifleman and you can't get any XP or stat tracking.
I played a few of the RS maps and they're pretty fun. If you hold melee and sprint as a Japanese soldier you can "Banzai charge" at the enemy (your soldier sprints for an extended period, does more melee damage, and screams BANZAIIIIIIIIIIII). Getting a whole team to do this at once on an enemy objective is absolutely hilarious and surprisingly effective.

I'm so in.

I'd play if the install of Rising Storm hadn't wiped out my entire RO2 install. Wtf? Redownloading everything.
