Awesomenauts Catch-All of Awesomeness! Now on Steam!

Here? Sure, but that's everyone else's loss. It's happened to Tribes: Ascend, Lead & Gold, and will happen to many other great MP games in the future. Unfortunately, it's very rare for this community to grab on, and stick with!, a MP game that isn't already crazy popular (BF, GoW, CoD, Halo, TF2). Even though we're a niche community, we follow the habits of the majority. Sucks to me, but c'est la vie.

And there's a pretty thoroughly entrenched LoL community here. Despite the differences, Awesomenauts is the same genre.

I definitely enjoy this, just haven't spent much time with it. The pile she is big.

I still play from time to time, but I'm definitely not at a super competitive level.

Yeah I'm an occasional player, but not in a competetive fashion, I actually stop enjoying most games at that point.

I mostly just fire it up to play against bots every now and then, since I don't have many local people to play with and don't much enjoy this sort of game with full pubs. I tried to get my step-brother and cousin into it for a team of three, but they went right back to DOTA. Crazies.

This is one of the few games of its type that I'd say jump into multiplayer without worrying. Good community and a game type that doesn't punish new players should mean smooth sailing for you.

Oh sure, I've done it once or twice, and honestly people are pretty good (compared to say... DOTA or LOL). But I generally don't feel invested enough to inflict myself on someone else's game.

I've played around with this a bit. It's good fun for a lark. No Internet at the moment, but if ye are on steam ill add ye once I'm set up. I liked the healing brain guy.

It's rather a bit simpler than LoL, so I can't imagine it capturing the long term dedicated folks (me included) but it is good for a knock around.

Info of the fan designed naut, and now art contest. Sounds like another good addition to the roster.

The new map looks amazing, and more like a typical LM map.

Always expect Cyrax in posting all this. Never have to bother

Speaking of which, the update is live, including two new amazing skins.

I've told a few goodjers about this, but there is now voting on the next character design:

I love the first and the one with the tall helmet.

I'm not one big on number crunching or min/maxing in games, but work has started in the community on a skill calculator.

Yay! Something Cyrax hasn't posted yet!

Awesomenauts and its many iterations to what it is today.

Man. Remember when it wasn't certain the game would even come out? It sure has come a long way. Even more impressive is that all of the non-cosmetic content has been totally free. I wouldn't have been at all surprised if they'd charged a couple bucks for each new character. Would've paid it, too.

Patch 1.18 is up. The best update eva!!

New feature:

When your team becomes awesome, the awesomenauts theme plays.

That's an adorable voice. Reminds me of Tiny Tina.

Of course it does, Ash's the voice. The new naut is Ayla. A very straightforward play style, but I love the character. Ayla holds some kind of ball/orb, and has a third eye. The ball casts a DoT aura around Ayla, which increases her speed and gives her flight. It also damages her unless she's attacking something, in which case it heals her. Ayla's third eye shoots a projectile that increases damage the less health you have. That's Ayla. She's kind of the opposite of Coco. She's not long range, or does burst damage.

Live now, should be archived.

I have a friend works at the Humble. Support his paycheck! I bought Awesomenauts four times....and I'm going to keep buying.

Mission: Make sure any Goodjer that wants the game gets it.

The skin and the couple games I didn't have are what I supported. This will probably be the biggest surge of new players since TB's Vinnie came out, if I had to guess. Good for them.

Reddit post by yours truly.

Lets start the movement! Goodjers thinking about jumping into the game PM me, I have plenty of copies to give away. However, I will consider it a binding contract which you must commit at least 100hrs into Awesomenauts

This was gifted to me by carrotpanic this week. I watched a couple of videos of it back when it first came out and really liked what I saw, but I ended up ignoring it in favor of playing more League. Anything I need to know up front before diving in this weekend while I'm stuck with just a Macbook Air for gaming?

I am toying with the idea of that awesomenauts tourney again. This time including humble bundle players/beginners. Thinking of making two leagues.

1) players who have logged less than 40 hrs
2) those over 40hrs

The 40 hr rule is subject to question depending on a consensus on how long it takes to be good in the game.

Aww damn, I'm just over 40(5).

Really digging the split screen support. Lost several hours playing couch coop with my brothers this evening. All against bots still, cranking up the difficulty as I try out all the characters.

Let me know - sounds like fun!

This would give me a good reason to start playing.
