Nice little details in there, like the kids hanging onto the fence about to watch the fight.

Latest...

That whole trailer is Guillermo Del Toro compeltely showing up Michael Bay's inability to shoot a coherent action scene in any of the Transformers movies.

All those fight scenes, all those shots where viewers can ACTUALLY SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING. Would probably give Bay an aneurysm.

True, but an additional question is how many of those sequences are in any way practical effects. I doubt they'd be using the old "man-in-a-suit" tech these days.

And of course there's a ripoff already, and of course it's called Atlantic Rim

Is it mecha porn?

Well if there wasn't a "Pacific Rimjob" in the works there sure is now.

Thanks for nothing tuffalo.

Porn names aren't nearly that clever anymore.

Cashing that sweet, sweet paycheck.

I gave a solid thirty seconds effort to trying to come up with a way to make a joke about one set in the great lakes or some other such unsuitably small and thus humorous body of water, but got nowhere with it.

Pacific Rim II: The Rimmening

Needed an extra syllable.

You know I watched the trailer for Atlantic Rim and all I could think was 'if that showed up on Netflix, I'd probably watch it'.

Gigantic yawnfest.

Yawny yawny yawnerson.

Maybe is why. Giant robots smashing sh*t up would have been the bomb when I was 12. Not so much at 36.

Oooh, I've got it!

Ding ding ding ding ding! We have a winner. All the robots are now orange due to rusting with age.

Me too; then again I do love to watch SciFi Originals.

You, sir, may have lost your inner child. It didn't take candy from a stranger, did it?

Remember, he may live in America, but he's still British, and we all know they have no concept of fun.

Yeah, I recently started watching GG in Defiance on Syfy. Pleasant bit of nostalgia to see good old Kicking Bird working again.

I do find it somewhat surprising that they don't appear to have any type of guns. Watching these things fire some sort of rail gun style rifle might induce a seizure of squee though.

In the trailer when the one is falling backwards; is it not firing something mounted to his left arm/hand?

That's the Austrailian Jaeger, which has retractable blades in its forearms. Those blades might be able to be launched.

From pictures, the Russian Jaeger has two huge shoulder mounted cannons. It is also shown fighting two Kaijiu in close combat at the same time. Maybe those guns made it a prime target instead.

This 36 year old thought it was awesome.

Though I do find myself thinking "I hope the story lives up to the visuals" rather than "OMG this is the best thing ever!"
