I'm up for some board gaming as well. One of these days I gotta convince you guys to do the boardgaming on the Kits beach. Maybe with a cooler and a bbq.

I would be down for this.

Three hours is enough time for a few games, right? People can start showing up at Drexoll as early as 3? Stragglers can wander in at 4 and 5?

Works for me.

I probably can't make 3pm exactly but I should be there around that time, barring any surprises in the next few days.

Kits boardgaming sounds like a lot of fun! But flat sand-free space is going to be at a premium.

3PM at Drexoll it is then.

Kepheus and I won't be there for boardgames - we've got previous plans with some people to go hiking in Lynn Valley, but beer and food and good company? We are all over that.

I'm out of town this weekend (Vegas!) but hope to join a meet up another time. Have fun everyone.

Can't make it to this one after all.

Have fun!

But I think I can! Will know for sure later today, but I'm getting my game face on. (My board game face—it's like a regular game face, but bearded and holding a map.)

Looking forward to it!

I've got a couple board games for sale on BGG, so I'll mention them here in case anyone might be interested in buying them today, and wants to save on shipping:

Dominion: Intrigue - played once, $20 OBO (pic)

Dwarven Dig - played once, $15 OBO

Wrath of Ashardalon - played a handful of times, $35 OBO (pic)

How soon will folks be at Drexolls?:

I'm got some errands to run, but I'm aiming to be there as close to 3 as I can.

Gunna head back out to new west to wash my hair and grab a sandwich before heading out. Will try to get there between 3-4!

Forgot wallet, running late now.

going to be late because I am a bad person. be there by 6:30 hopefully

I'm not going to be there. S-i-L is visiting this weekend. Have a most frabjous time everyone.

WE HAD FUN! There were battle wizards, there were sentinels of the multiverse, there were many many deaths. Also, BEERS! Good beers, amazing burgers, and conversation!

A few notes from last night:

I'm putting this out there to remind you folks to finally get your RISK LEGACY on because I know you guys have talked about it before and you need to make it happen!

Also, anyone in the area have a house? A big space to lay out tables and games? I could fit a couple of tables in my little apartment, but I kind of live far away from everyone else. Also I don't have extra tables. I might borrow some tables and chairs or invest in them if we could make this a regular thing.

Going to Drexoll's is alright, but I always feel a little bad goin' in there taking up tables and not buying anything (they didn't have Ascension-branded card sleeves).

EDIT: ALSO BEACH! Beach games? I'm gonna make a thread.

I wouldn't mind meeting at Darby's once and a while for a plain S&T. Boardgames are a plus but not essential.

For gaming I share the upper level of a house with 3 other people so I'm probably the one with the most space. Let me check with my roommates.

What day would be the best for this sort of thing?

So I know Gravey was interested in starting a monthly Risk Legacy game. Who else is interested?
I imagine it would be a day of it, since Risk tends to be a long game, otherwise we need a good way of essentially saving an incomplete game.

Old Risk (legacy Risk) is long, but is Risk Legacy? I know one of the improvements the new edition of Risk (or Risk 2210 AD?) made was to limit the game to five turns, i.e. playable within 1-2 hours. I could manage an evening, but not a day.

I could easily host this thing. I have enough table space for 12-20 people, though we might run out of chairs. This space has had far more people than that in it before. I've only heard from 1 of 3 roommates, but he is okay with the idea of having people over. The others tend to randomly bring home groups of 3-5 friends, so I doubt they would be bothered by it.

I do not know anything about Risk Legacy. And even Risk was last played many many years ago. But other than that, I think I could be game.

It's like regular Risk, except the game remembers who played it previously and certain events that happen. You end up writing on the board and ripping up cards so some actions feel permanent and it's a different experience each time you play.

I'd be interested in trying it out.

I'd be interested in trying it out too. How many players does it require/support?

My biggest table can support 10 people around it if needed. Or 12 even, but that may get a little crowded.

So we need to pick a date for our first session and also figure out if we can accommodate everyone. I believe we have 6 people interested at the moment and the game only supports 5 people. I'm sure that not everyone will be able to get together on the same day, so let's just see what day we can agree on first. My schedule is currently open until I land a job.

Mine is pretty open too, but weekends are better.

Evenings are best for me, weekday evenings even better, 7pm or after.

I'd love to play with y'all. Weekends work best right now, but I could swing some weekdays.
