The Wolf Among Us Catch-All - All episodes released!

Pages

Telltale has announced The Wolf Among Us, which will be an episodic adventure game set in the word of DC's Fables. It will becoming out this summer on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and Mac. You will play the role of Bigby Wolf, and it takes place before the main series begins.

Fables is my favorite ongoing comic and I loved The Walking Dead. Can Telltale magic strike twice, or will we be sorely disappointed?

Launch trailer:

Is this going to be another piece of "interactive fiction" like The Walking Dead?

What is the distinction between adventure games and interactive fiction? Walking Dead, to me, worked just like Sam and Max or Monkey Island.

Did you feel Walking Dead was a bit Mad Dog McCree?

HO-LY-SH-IT

They've done it again. It looks exactly like the comic, hot damn!

That article references Game Informer, which tells a bit more about their plans for the story. Avoid if you want to stay away from light spoilers. I will say, it is sounding good.

This... sounds really good. I loved Walking Dead and thought Jurassic Park got smacked around harder than it deserved.

I am totally getting this game.

So excited about this! My wife is also a HUGE fan of Fables and we both really enjoyed The Walking Dead.

So, is this any good? I think I'll get it...

Are Fables an issue?

(I'd like to pick it up, too. I enjoyed the comics on which it's based, though I'm not looking forward to Tt's canned animations).

Still waiting on a release date.

It's up for pre-order on Steam, says it's out this month (no specific date that I saw when I glanced at the sales page, though).

Yeah it's 10% off so I got it, I don't think Telltale will let me down, and the premise looks pretty cool

Picked it up here, and my wife is a HUGE fan of Fables. I have a feeling this is going to be a good one.

Looks good, looking forward to it, on a side note the fables regular artist lives pretty close to where i live

I'm torn. I no longer pre-order games, especially if no reviews are available, but I'm a fan of Fables. While Telltale have a contract in their quality, their highs are certainly great in respect to their lows. I'll probably do a last minute purchase.

I'm waiting for the PS3 announcement, but I continue to be cautiously optimistic.

Apparently, the first episode is out this Friday on PC and 360. Nice.

I've never heard of these comics, but I trust Telltale has good taste : )

I have to wait for reviews on this one, but it does look good! Never read the comic book series.

Supposed to be out "a few days" after the PC/360 version I think

In for the pre-order. The reviews have been positive, and they've addressed at least one of my two biggest issues with TWD, it was technically janky.

Reviews are positive and often referencing to positive similarities to The Walking Dead. I'm sold.

Finished Episode 1. That. Was. AWESOME!
Completely hooked and already champing at the bit for chapter 2.

My decisions...

Spoiler:

- gave Faith money
- lied to Beast
- went to help toad first
- lawrence killed himself
- arrested Dee
- Prime suspect: Faith's Pimp

I was so excited about SOMA's proper announcement that I totally forgot this released today!

I should probably mention that this first episode feels a good deal more "tropey" than the Walking Dead dead (in the Sarkeesian sense)....

Spoiler:

..Both "Damsel" and "Girl in Fridge". However, the latter doesn't seem to tie in with what little I know (read: looked up on wikipedia) about the characters from the comic, since this is a prequel, and assuming it is canon then I'm not sure everything is as it appears...

Also...

(supposition for future reveals)

Spoiler:

If that skinny ginger guy who shows up in a couple of scenes in the background doesn't turn out to be the killer, then I'll eat my picnic basket for grandma

WTF, they got rid of the option to turn off notifications. Why would they do that to me? I hate that feature.

Here's some interesting dialogue, here's some emotionaVIDEOOOGAAAAAAAAAMMEESSSS.

Eck. That's a huge turn off. That feature alone makes me want to wait in hopes they patch it in.

Im really interested in this one, love the art style, never played any adventure games before. On steam it says over a season of content across 5 episodes, do you pay £18.99 for one episode or is that for all of them?

All 5 episodes! But they only have the first one available, you get the others free when they come out.
