Man loses his life savings trying to win an X-box at a carnival game... and is considering suing the carnies.

“For once in my life I happened to become that sucker,” said Gribbohm. “It was foolish for putting up my life savings.”

"Man Does Something Stupid, Realizes That He's A Moron, Seeks Someone To Blame. Film at 11."

Besides, who assumes that carnival games are going to be fair?

So he dropped $2600 trying to win the XBox. Couldn't he have, I dunno, just bought one instead?

Muslim groups outraged by Tennessee official's post

My favorite bit:

West responded in an email that he "did not create this picture ... yes I shared it ... so why am I being singled out?"

1. That's exactly like saying "sure, I call African-Americans the N-word, but I didn't invent the N-word so who cares.

2. They're requesting an apology and not a resignation? They are more forgiving than I. Or they're just trying to set realistic goals.

An apology is at least something, but here's the thing about apologies: if you're forced to apologize, then you clearly don't mean it. If it was a true apology, it would have come of your own volition. So even if this shinebox apologizes, he's not going to learn from his mistake, or even necessarily recognize what the mistake really was-- he's just paying lip service to appease the complainers. Resignation is a more apt repercussion, to be honest. At least he would be affected by his own actions in a tangible way.

The news story isn't all that entertaining, but reading all the exaggerated reactions to it is moderately entertaining.

I'm going to let the link speak for itself.

I'm shocked that he's not Australian or Kiwi. Maybe all that time in New Zealand filming LOTR got to him!

That's weird, he didn't die? I thought Sean Bean always died.

I'm glad the actor is more robust than the characters.

That's probably why he was so nonchalant about being stabbed, wounds like that are old hat to him.

I have a very similar condition to the author and now I'm possessed of the need to find a 3DS and play something. I want to know what depth is like, too.

I wish you luck! It sounds like it would be an amazing experience. I think you'd have to be very lucky to have the right "wrong" convergence for the 3DS to work for you, but if you do, wow.

Have you ever seen the book Meanderings of Memory?

If so, the people at the O.E.D. would really like to talk to you.

That's fair. He should be able to beat that in a trial by jury.

What does it say when my first though on the story wasn't "Hogging all the Vagina" but more along the lines of "That's not a vagina!" :p

booo.

That money could have been spent on someone that actually deserved it, not some moron.

The eastern US is about to be engulfed by a swarm of 30 billion (yes, that's a "b") insects. And that's the low estimate; Smithsonian researchers say the actual number may be 1 trillion.

I've seen this movie; it doesn't end well...
