Vita - Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward $29.99 (3 to 5pm)

I want to enable people on this one. It's the best adventure game I've played in a very long time.

Tell me it's substantially better than 999. Tell me there isn't an unskippable dialogue segment where the characters are trapped in an industrial-grade walk-in freezer and, instead of trying to escape, decide to argue about carbon dioxide and ruminate on the chemical origins of Ice-9.

Today's deal for Dragon Age: Origin is unfairly tempting

It's substantially better than 999 in every way. It feels like a game where they listened to every player complaint about its predecessor and took serious steps to rectify their mistakes.

They actually poke fun at that Ice-9 freezer scene a bit. During a room escape, you find a book about Schrodinger's cat, and when one of the characters starts to explain it someone else cuts her off and asks if it can wait at least until they've finished that escape.

Good game! Hours of RPG goodness.

Also, Euro Truck Sim 2 is 50% off. I'm seeing surprisingly good discussions on it. Maybe it's time to break out my Driving Force GT and imagine it's 3x the size to fit in with a big rig.

At least I could play it in front of the 11 month old and not feel like a horrible parent

I got the new Star Trek game from GreenManGaming for 37.50 using code GMG25-RFCBT-QPRTW. Code works on many other games as well.

FYI Star Trek was a steam code and came with the preorder bonus

Free stuff at newegg, after rebates.

Game highlights: The Witcher, and X3:TC (which registers on Steam)

I just snagged The Witcher-- It looks like a DVD box copy. I only want the soundtrack-- not even going to worry about installing. So, if you're interested and missed the newegg promo in me passing it along sans music discs, hit me up with a PM and we'll make arrangements for shipping it to you. (I might even be able to cover the shipping cost if it's low enough).

This game is actually quite good. I just can't figure out how to get back on the road if I accidently crash and get stuck somewhere.

You have to call for emergency services, and for a fee, they tow you to the nearest town. The call button is on one of the panels of the satnav thingy.

I am so obsessed with Euro Truck Simulator 2 it's silly. I freaking LOVE it. So glad I purchased the full version. It's surprisingly compelling. I wanna go home and play it right now.

You guys are crazy......

.....is it still on sale?

Yes...yes it is...

So Euro Truck Simulator is this year's Secret of the Magic Crystals?

Nobody's gifting it, only hoarding it for their greedy selves.

Secret of the Magic Crystals was all about sharing...

Not quite. Look over here (once you get past the first half-dozen posts) to see how many of us have gotten hooked on the game. It's sold several wheel controllers and a couple of track ir rigs too.

I can't explain why, but the game is actually good!

Is driving a truck enough of a puzzle without being so convoluted like a helicopter that it's fun to learn the systems and try things out?

It seems like after you get going you're in cruise control and just sitting there on the highway.

What is your pitch for ETS?

Dammit, you guys + the Nerd^3 video are gonna make me waste 20 bones on this, aren't you?

For the love of all that is good and holy, someone disable me on this.

I had to, so do you.
Do it
No disabling for you!

I played the heck out of the demo.
Surprised I haven't jumped on this. Yet...

edit: Nevermind. I bought it.

No can do. I jumped last night before bed and have spent today paying for it in extra cups of coffee. Wheel + TrackIr will be set up in short order.

Is this the deals thread or the confessions thread? I must have mis-clicked.

Enabled. When will I even find time to play this? I both love and hate all of you.

There's enough systems in place to keep you busy for more technical sections of the game (city driving, back-up parking, etc.) or you can just set cruise control out on the lonely roads at night if you want a more relaxing experience.

The thing we take for granted with most driving games is that the vehicles only use a small portion of the controls we use in real life. Your average racer will have steering, gas, break, and clutch/gears if you're feeling daring. ETS2 has all that in addition to turn signals, hazards, lights, high-beams, cruise control, 12-gear shifting, engine start/stop, parking break, motor break, {ableist slur}er increase/decrease, horn, light horn, wipers, and more.

So there's more than enough inputs to keep your hands dancing around the keyboard or 360 pad while you're driving.

As for the pitch part, most people agree that it's a relaxing departure from the norm and the game is unashamedly earnest and authentic with the subject material, along with being polished as heck and just plain fun to boot.

Give the free demo a whirl. It offers you the full game experience and only ends after you discover a certain amount of cities.

From this page of discussion the "moderate sim" aspect of it makes sense to me but isn't appealing. I've seen short gameplay videos so I'm familiar enough with what's going on. I feel the same way about Prison Architect. It was interesting to see someone play it for a bit, but it's not really for me.

I thought the whole point of the Sparkle Ponies curse was to gift a bad game? If ETS2 is so good, then wouldn't that disqualify it?

Binary Domain is way better than I was expecting it to be.

YES!
