Its as if people act like they win every year by a mile. If anything their spending and the results make baseball more interesting and hilarious when they fall flat on their faces.

It's not that they win every year by a big mile it's that they start out on second or third base every year. Money is a problem in baseball. I'm an Athletics fan and we have to scrap our way to the top. I wish the team had more money so we can keep our stars and build but it's never going to happen.

Dan Majerle's second calling:

I'm been looking for an animated gif of poor Octavio Dotel getting bagged by a grounder in yesterday's game... has anyone seen one?

Im and A's fan also and all I'm hearing is wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

If their 'starting on third base every year' they must be a 90 year old with a walker cause man with that type of supposed advantage they hardly really win that often.

Amazing gifs. Beer guy kinda poured most of that all over himself though lol

People really don't hate on the Yankees right now. But, I hate on Bud and the MLB all the time. If he'd get off his ass and let the A's move to San Jose (which should belong to them) I wouldn't care. But, the A's in that concrete hellhole will not be able to keep a team to really contend for a ring. Right now, they have the best team in the AL and a lot of the players are going to be up for new contracts and the A's won't be able to afford to keep them.

Carlos Quentin is fraudster. No one intentionally hits someone in a 3-2 count, in a one run game, with no one on base. Moron.

Greinke was my 1st pitcher drafted. My pitching is now in shambles.

It's worth repeating this: Since June 1 of last year, Oakland is 80-40 -- by far the best record in the majors. They've won eight straight.

I traded for Greinke in my work keeper (money) league to ensure I got him and BJ Upton before the expansion draft started. I gave up some nice draft picks to get them. Obviously, this trade is continuing to kick my ass 10 ways from Sunday.

The OTHER expansion team in our league traded for Jared Weaver. Does anyone see a pattern here?

I rarely trade for pitchers, other than when I really need a closer. There are just too many ups and downs, and it is usually profitable to sell off a pitcher to get consistent offense.

I have CJ Wilson and Gio Gonzalez right now, and both were picked up on waivers before they made their mark. I was actually hoping Wilson would become a closer, as I had both im and Frank Francisco, who I knew would flame out soon. Our Roto includes holds, so finding up and coming closers is something you can do, instead of just lucking into them. The downside? I traded Cliff Lee away when a little more patience would have netted me one hell of a dependable starter.

Of course, we are in our 11th season with keepers, and my best finish is 3rd place. But we have have had 14 teams since day one, and only turned over a couple of guys. Many are much more dedicated than I am.

So I guess the Miami Marlins don't believe in 1st amendment rights?

What a nightmare start to the season for the Jays. The starting pitchers have been unexplainabley awful, and the hitters haven't been all that hot. Now, last night, the one hitter who was on a tear.. Jose Reyes... blows out his ankle in a freak accident while stealing a base. The initial diagnosis is an ankle sprain and a 1-3 month timeframe for return... they were doing an MRI this morning to get a more detailed view of the injury.

Ugh.

I didn't see it but from the way Twitter was exploding if its 1-3 months thats great. Everyone jumped to the conclusion that he potentially snapped his ankle.

Hasn't exactly been a lovely start for the Yankees either. And would someone please make A-Rod go away and stay away!

The Yankees are the only team that have scored at least 2 runs every game. I am not exactly weeping for the Yankees. You should be glad they are contending so far.

Also, I don't believe you were saying that about A-Rod when the Rangers traded him to the Yankees. It's funny how every single Yankees fan has now turned on A-Rod because the team is completely in shambles even though it still holds the highest payroll in MLB.

Don't worry, catcher help is coming, once McCann comes back and proves he can still catch, the Braves will ship him to the Yankees to fix one of their glaring issues.

Bud Selig REALLY needs to go.

In the last 3 years, at least 13 players/coaches (I am including Jim Leyritz, who is employed by the Yankees) have been arrested for getting into a vehicle while intoxicated. In Leyritz's case, a life was lost.

Yovani Gallardo was 3 TIMES OVER THE LEGAL LIMIT, and not a peep from the Commissioner. He blew a .22 BAL, and there are no fines. No suspensions. Someone brought up on the radio that John Rocker was once suspended 13 games because he said things that people didn't agree with, and we live in a country with freedom of speech. Yet Yovani Gallardo will get to pitch today at 1pm without penalty.

Nick Adenhart was killed by a drunk driver, and all of a sudden, baseball cared about driving under the influence. For a moment. Funny how quickly they forget. Guess it doesn't matter unless it's one of their own.....

Not to sound crass, but there are laws in place to handle DUI's and other alchohol-related crimes.

I wouldn't want my employer applying additional punishment to a crime I had committed. In addition to that, I would think it would be at the team level to punish team employees if you think their personal behavior is reflecting poorly on the organization.

I'm a Nationals and Orioles fan.

The Nats are, by proxy, the only team I care about with a good chance to win anything this year.

...let's see if the remainder of the year starts to shape up better. Zimmerman is throwing like Steve Sax, and Dan Haren might as well be a practice pitcher.

Baseball is already playing morality police (suspensions handed out for testing positive for marijuana, for example). They're just picking and choosing which things they want to treat as serious. Weed & steroids = bad, possibly killing someone driving drunk - eh, not their problem.

Gotta love this kid.

Ah baseball cancellations... every season we have this discussion... George Carlin covered it.

Key part at 2:46.

Glad the Rays picked their game up this weekend, uh Ulairi?

Got 3 against the Yanks next. Have to win these AL East series!

And they are giving away Maddon garden gnomes on Wed.

4-0 Rays in the first. CC is getting rocked.

HR, single, triple, HR. Awesome.

Baseball players really need to grow a pair. Today's game is the fourth Twins game in eight days to be postponed. I can't speak to the game in Chicago but none of the three here were even close to unplayable conditions.

edit: OK, today's game would have been unplayable conditions.

Which is why it boggles my mind as to why they wouldn't build a stadium in Minnesota with a roof on top. Open it up in the summer, close it in April and September. Same thing in Colorado.

But I'm sure Bud Selig wouldn't do anything stupid, like say, I don't know, schedule an interleague series in Minnesota in April to make it damn near impossible to make up the game later in the year...............

*EDIT*
I just realized I have never seen a baseball or football game in a dome stadium.

You ain't missing anything. Domes are a blight on sports.
