Warframe

Anyone have any luck crafting stuff? I just acquired a Warframe blueprint and the requirements don't make any sense.
Also, is there a particular location in the Jupiter system where Neural Sensors are less rare?

Check out this video, it should clear some stuff up.

That did help, it told me I needed addition blueprints. To figure out where to get those, I came across a Warframe Wikia which told me I could get those from the hardest boss in the game... *sigh* Oh well, I happened to get those sensors in an incredibly lucky wave based level and now have a new melee weapon in the process of being forged .

Does anyone here play with any regularity? A particular night perhaps?

Enjoying what little of this game I played last night. Looking into it more today since yesterday was just a run around and cut stuff in half over and over again with glee type of day.

I am in this game cause of frate.

Care to add yourself to the spreadsheet?

I finally gave in and threw twenty dollars at them to unlock a second frame (Ember) and a Wyrm which are both very useful in the Defense game type (my current favourite level sets).
I hope that we can get something going, along the lines of an evening to play. Just update the Spreadsheet with a preference for day and time-of-day, and with luck it will work out.

PS: Scratched, if you see this, please feel free to throw the link to the spreadsheet in the original post for easier way to locate it.

What weapons (non starting weapons) do you guys use and what are your thoughts on them. Me and nights/raven just built dual swords this morning (me heat him ether) and will be trying them out tonight. So I am curious as to other people's choice of gear and how they have found their gear to work?

Yep...

I rock Frost with a Stren (shotgun) and Lex pistol. I might hit slow but when I hit, I hit hard. Due to the mods I have on the Stren I can hit things across the room.

I have the Paris (bow) and find it to be alot of fun but want to level it up more to see how the damage scales. I just added fire damage to it last night but have not got to use it with it yet.

I've been playing a few missions a night for a week or so. I've got an excalibur up to around lvl 25 with the smallest upgrades in each weapon slot, braton cronious and sicarious. Pretty much all the same as the excal starting load out with non-introduction stats.

I'm working toward the ash frame, have all the prints and parts saved rubedo. I guess its a random drop in those cylinder looking pick ups so its hard to find hundreds of it.

Added groan to the list.
I'll be watching the Steam popups.
I'm still a lowish level.

I wonder what the skill in the profile is? The numbers dont seem to make since. Also its interesting how everyone has excalibur play time with an unranked braton. Also Frate's Paris (Bow) doesn't show up as a weapon.

This game is really fun once you get your head around how the various systems work. And I've had no problems playing with randoms; seeing as it's all co-op there's no need for people to yell at each other.

Quickie tutorial:

  • You have a warframe you're piloting, a main weapon, a sidearm, and a melee weapon. They can only be changed between missions.
  • Each of those things can be socketed with mods. Mods are like gems that you find in missions, and they can be freely socketed and unsocketed.
  • Warframes and weapons have a rank which starts at 0 and increases as you gain XP (called Affinity). You can equip mod points on a thingy up to that thingy's rank. You can also purchase a special upgrade to double the number of points a thingy can support.
  • Mods can be upgraded by fusing them with other mods. This is most efficient if you fuse them with duplicates. Fusion cores are special mods that are only useful as upgrade fodder for other mods. You do not create a new type of mod with a fusion, merely an upgraded form of the original. This is a poorly named process.
  • XP and credits are shared by the team. If anyone on your team gets a kill with a melee weapon, you get melee weapon XP. For all drops besides credit (and possibly ammo, not sure), a copy is spawned for every player in the game, and they have to go pick it up themselves. In other words, pick up everything.
  • In addition to the XP that each thingy has, your overall profile has a special type of XP called "mastery rank," which increases by a flat amount for ranking up warframes and weapons. So you'll have to rank up multiple warframes and weapons in order to keep advancing.
  • And last and most important, the pricing scheme on this game is horrendous and hopefully will get better later (like worse than tribes ascend was until the GotY version came out). I like elements of this game, but the amount of grinding that is involved to get a second suit or the out of pocket cost of that suit is really turning me off for the game.

Hrm, I was thinking just the opposite. Without even trying, I have 3 of the 4 things needed to make a Banshee. Definitely far quicker than it would have taken to earn 6300 IP for a LoL champ.

I do agree that the real money prices for stuff seems high. But credits seem plentiful, and you can buy all the blueprints with those.

I find this interesting, Frate has been playing for a week and trying to get a banshee. I do not think he has a single blueprint. and to build a frame you need 4 blueprints. 3 for individual parts, 1 for the whole thing. Each blueprint has heavy farm parts. From what I can tell, to make a complete new frame needs a week to a month worth of farming. Also each peace takes a day to make and the whole thing (after all 3 pieces made) takes 3 days to make. So in the end, after the minimum 4 days waiting and the X days grinding for parts? I think LoL 6300 IP is far easier to get than warframe's method.

Fair enough. In the land of the RNG gods, anything can take a really goddamn long time if you get unlucky.

I've made a handful of weapons out of blueprints I bought/found, and didn't find that I had to do much grinding for supplies. A quick check of the wiki for where a certain resource dropped, a few rounds on the planet, and Robert's your father's brother. Granted I'm just building newbie stuff, so I can easily believe that it becomes more onerous later on.

There seems to be a good set of weapons that can be bought outright for easily obtained credits, to give you things to experiment with while you clear your way through systems and build up your resource counts.

Also did you two chumps fail your challenge test for the Gold Initiate rank? I noticed you and Wizard were both sitting there with 0 mastery points to go.

Um no, its bugged, it says that for everyone. Me, wizard, raven, and frate are all rank 2. I would like to note, on record, for the world to see, Wizard DID FAIL his rank 2 test the first time.

Yeah, I bought the Latron at 50K and built the Kraken. The Kraken costs 45K total (20 for blueprint, 25 to build with 1 day wait) and the mats were a bit of a pain. With 2 Nuerodes that normally drops off of bosses and 300 Alloy that drops in 10-20s. So it took about 3 or 4 days of farming to get the mats. The Dual Flame swords I made were about 5 times easier. I think Wizard is trying to get the Rhino frame, it took him 18 runs through a boss mission to get all the blue prints I think? I think he has finally got all the other mats and is now building it.

Another cool thing about this is that it mostly avoids the problem of grouping with people at different experience levels. If you want to play with someone new, you can just use an unranked warframe and/or weapon. Pretty nifty.

quick question: (noob here) whats the deal with the "leveling up trial", where you have to pass tests to advance, being so ultrabright? is that supposed to be like that to make it difficult or is it something that im not doing to remove it?

i can barely see any enemies when i start it

Trying turning off "Bloom" in settings.

thx, tigerbill. ill try that tomorrow when my failure time expires. lol!

Ash is cooking in the oven. Is there a time you guys usually go ninjaing? Also, on their twitch stream they said the next patch will introduce dojos for their guilds which the members can customize the look of.

Banshee is the most random of BP drops, probably the hardest to farm of he existing models. They are only found as random rewards from defense missions. I got all 3 parts of my ash in 10 runs; then another few days collecting all the rubadub. Probably took ~6-8 hours; so 12-15 lol matches [nowhere near 6300 IP].

Do you just Re run missions till you find all the drops?

    Double

yea, all 3 pieces currently drop off the same boss. I expect as they add more content they'll divide those out, the parts for the plans drop off a variety of bosses so you end up going around the system and hunting them till you get the drop you need.

I wanted to get some new weapons but there does not seem to be many with only credits. Does the available ones rotate or something?

is there anyway to wipe the start build you choose when you know nothing and start over? im an Excalibur and want to try the others (without purchasing another slot)

edit2: also is there a steam group for gwj so i can see when yall are playing and join up?

Added my name to the spreadsheet. Just to let you know I use the same alias I do here Gimpy_Butzke.

Is there a GWJ dojo being built?

Coming to PS4. Not sure about XO.
