Marvel Heroes - Catch All

It is Diablo, Torchlight, Titan Quest, etc.... action-rpg (point-and-click), but with a Marvel skin. That's it.

If you like any of those games and like Marvel, you'll love it.

Yes, the Marvel stuff is also really well done. Marvel & Gazillion have worked together quite well on this.

I reallly really enjoy it and will be playing it for a while once it is commercially released. Wish I had bought the $200 pack, but oh well.

Finally got my beta invite. I won't be able to download the client until I get home tonight... when is the next beta window?

Tues 8pm eastern until Wed 8pm. Full 24 hours!

MMOBomb is giving away beta keys. 5000 still left as of now.

Whoa. After the 24 hour test, now a whole weekend test. 3pm eastern today until 3pm Mon!

They did. Also that once the game launches, you won' t be able to buy heroes w/ money. They'll only be unlocked through drops. You can buy something that guarantees a hero drop, but it'll be random, not a specific hero. The founders program is the only way to have a specific hero for launch and that stops when (maybe before) the game launches.

Never came back to this, but on the closed forums, way back on Mar 31, they updated this and said that even after launch you will be able to buy specific heroes from the store. So good to see they listened to feedback and changed to a more reasonable plan.

Red name even said to go ahead and spread the news to friends. So yeah... if you were worried about getting the hero you want, worry no more. Still probably worth one of the $20 packs if you want a specific hero for sure and want to get in a couple days early. But either way you will be able to buy the hero you want.

Also good news for founders, as you can save your in-game bonus credits and buy new heroes down the road when they release.

Cool, I know Fuzzball was worried about not being able to buy heroes after game goes live. Me, I got the main four, plus the Valentine's freebies Jean Grey and Cyclops, so what ever drops after that I'm cool with. I just wish they would reduce the number of retcon devices that drop, I have like 11 or 12 in my bank after 12-16 hours of play. At least make them tradeable. I have heard others that have gotten multiples of the same character dropped. The only character I have gotten has been Storm, twice, but once before the last wipe, and once after.

Yeah I got one character drop the other day, Black Panther I think.

I imagine they have the retcon device drop rate high for beta?

But yeah they should be stackable. Health packs they increased the stack to 10, but I still can't get them to stack manually. Only new drops seem to stack. So I have 3 piles of 8, 7, and 2 health packs or something like that, which makes no sense at all.

Still a lot of work for 5-6 weeks.

Yah, I like the change to the health packs, too bad might/speed potions don't stack.

I've gotten them to stack manually.

Is there a special key for it? I drag the pack of 2 over the pack of 7 and they just switch places. They continue to take up an extra inventory slot for me.

I dragged a stack of 8 on top of one of 5 and it made the 5 a 10 and the 8 a 3. No special trick that I know of.

Downloading the latest patch, but it's date night with my wife, so most likely won't be on tonight.

Apparently I just had a stack of 2 that was bugged and wouldn't stack. I drug my 7 onto the 8, and it stacked to 10 with 5 left.

Managed to just use those 2 during a zone boss fight to get rid of them.

Thank you!

Apparently the weekend is already open.

Despite the launcher saying offline.

I was just trying to patch and behold, game is online.

Yep I got in immediately. Chose Iron Man as I just saw the movie today and then immediately bought Deadpool because he is my favorite.

I was in the beta for a while and even preordered the $200 edition that I refunded. I just don't think there is enough "there" for me right now.

I'm really enjoying it.

I am sure it has been posted many times before, but I just wish they made another console brawler. Alliance was my go to couch co-op game :-/

I played this at pax east, and in my mind the lack of couch really limits the appeal.

I feel the same way. I enjoyed Alliance so much more. I wish this game were at least playable with a controller.

Didn't Torchlight get a 360 port? Not sure why they can't do that for this.

With the limited amount of power buttons they allow anyway right now, there's enough buttons on your standard 360/PS3/PC controller.

Wouldn't there be problems with skills that you have target to a location? I'm not sure how a controller would work with those.

Maybe right-stick targeting? Certainly works for PixelJunk Shooter and lots of other games where you can fire different directions than you move.

But I don't think this game wants you to do that, hence the click-to-move. If you could continue moving with WASD while firing another direction things would be a lot easier.

Mostly it just seems like "because Diablo did it a decade ago we're doing it this way now". If you try to bring up WASD on the forums, watch out.

I still enjoy it. But oh man it could be so much better.

Yeah it could be better in some areas, but it has a grip on me for some reason. Diablo with superheroes. I'll take it. It will develop and change over time.
