League Of Legends Catch All

Don't worry, it doesn't really get much better later on. Solo queue games still have a decent chance of working out like that for me as well. Played one last night where I was jungling. Every single lane died as I approached for a gank for 7 minutes straight until I was still 0/0/0 and yet the team score was 0-6. It was about to be all my fault, but I muted them before they could form an incoherent argument.

Playing with a pre-built group is where the game shines, but you're still going to lose ~50% in a number of ways. Ultimately, if you find it impossible to have fun in a losing situation then you should probably seek out a different genre of video games.

Oh I had a better nut shot last week, I had 4 ganks, on each occasion the enemy escaped with 10 health. Even getting a shot at more lane control, my team mates did not take advantage of that to get quick towers, and I quickly fell behind on levels. As Mundo I was the only tank, so this meant doom when we got into team battles. Some nights, you get no breaks. It is damn tough to get ganks when the lane players still have flash available.

Played Zac last night... Pretty sure i did something wrong because whenever i play against him i feel super pressured, when i played him i felt like a schlub till mid game and i picked up a sunfire cape and warmog. But my damage with him was just atrociousness. I had a standard AP page that i used (geared towards lux but close enough right?) I'm used to playing Darius up top any suggestions for improving my gameplay?

Are you jungling him? I'm not sure if he'd be any good as a laner. I'd imagine not, as he's a poor duelist until much later in the game. You're probably not going to be able to beat most standard top laners in a 1v1 as Zac.

Build him along the lines of a tanky initiator, not a mage. If you want to do damage, go for spell pen, as his AP ratios are quite low. Sunfire, Liandry's, Abyssal, and Spirit of the Spectral Wraith are the damage items I would consider for him, along with Warmogs, Spirit Visage, and Randuin's.

Gragas: I was pleasantly surprised how tanky he is even without RoA... with it, he feels even tankier than Swain because of his W damage redux. My first game with him was mid against an AP Yi and it was a bully-fest from the beginning.

That said, so far I haven't felt like any of my mid opponents really knew how to play against Gragas. They frequently hang around their own minions, try to get up close and personal, and other silliness.

Incidentally, I'm using the same runepage and masteries that I use with Malz: 21/0/9, taking the usual suspects in offense (minus spellblade) and mana recharge in utility; as of yet I've had zero durability issues going that route. If I'm getting really antsy about cooldowns, I'll make Morellonomicon my second or third purchase and that's the end of that issue. I've tried Athene's on him and feel like the Book is better for my playstyle unless magic damage is really getting me down.

I feel like I really need to get a few more rune pages and diversify though - I use the same runepage on nearly all my mids.

Edit: I've been waiting to try playing Anivia alongside Zac for the combined "denied!" passives and got a chance to last night, but it didn't go as well as I hoped. Ended up going 7-6-14 in a losing cause as we were ahead almost the entire game but the enemy Vi was fed and just became too much to deal with. For my own passive, I don't think it tripped on a single occasion where I was safe enough to respawn...

Mucking about on elobuff killin some time... Checking out the top ten champs win%wise... The tank is back, apparently. Here they are:

1) Janna (really?)
2) Sona
3) Rumble
4) Rammus (noted with some amusement after friendly Rammus got railed on by enemy AD just for playing Rammus)
5) Miss Fortune
6) Nautilus
7) Hecarim
8) Amumu
9) Sejuani
10) Singed

Speaking of Hecarim, he's is definitely the FOTM: I've been seeing him in damn near every game.

Nah, I'm still having fun. I just went 11-1-12 and got my first Godlike. Totally made up for my earlier exasperation.

It's funny you say that because in an earlier game tonight, Xin Li or whatever his name is had me down to 12 health 3 times. Once I killed him and 2 other times I got away. He was raging in chat saying that I sucked.

I haven't played Gragas at all in S3, so take this with a grain of salt, but I don't think RoA is a good build choice in the mid lane unless you determine very early on that you're going to lose your lane. Gragas' power peaks in the mid game, when people have to fear your Q and worry about being 100-0'd in one combo. Later, when most of your opponents have health and MR, you can't contribute much to a team fight unless people position themselves stupidly and you land a terrific ult. Hence I'd focus on rushing AP, CDR, and MPen (situational) in an effort to snowball extremely hard and put the game out of reach.

RoA is fine if you figure that you're not going to have a good laning experience and will struggle to survive. But at that point you're already in a very sub-optimal situation for Gragas, so you're just making the best of a bad start and hoping someone on your team will carry you through.

Personally, right now I think he is a much better pick to take top than mid. But as Jow said, he is so rarely ever played these days you can catch people off guard. Many players, even with experience, are not prepared for the crazy range the Q has.

He also loses to Poppy apparently.

(screw you, Crinkle)

For reference, here is the list of champions that do not lose to Poppy when she has managed to acquire core items:

My rage will not abate.

My only consolation last night was getting to play AOE Nocturne with Sunfire Cape and a Ravenous Hydra.

I'm very sorry I missed this.
I would of loved to watch crinkle tearing oily apart as poppy.
I would of recorded that game for the world to see over and over again.

Good god... Thresh Op...

Played against one earlier this week. Fortunately, she was the only thing worth a damn on her team. Because my team kept going on blind jungle chases, with Singed in the lead. Body slams everywhere. And it is just adorable the people targeting her when her super shield is on.

To be fair to our Singed, at least he was initiating fights, our mid and jungle Xin just seemed to want to push lanes up to the tower and retreat. I was getting frustrated too.

I think I might be hanging up Summoner's Rift for awhile because the games are getting more drawn out than Monday Night Football. Any chance Riot could change it so that you get bonus IP for a fast win, rather than a bigger creep score/kill count?

Gragas is prolly my second best mid after Blitz. He's great because very few people have experience laning against a Gragas, and aren't prepared for how wonky he plays. Gragas can harass from miles away with barrel, and suddenly drink up and charge in to melee range with a slow, drop a barrel at your feet, and clean you up for the kill. Pro Gragas plays include dropping a barrel in a random location, then knocking the enemy in to it with an ult, popping it for a surprise 1000 damage.

Gragas is a great bully mid, and he was NUTS strong until they nerfed his cooldowns by about 200%. He excels at pushing the lane up against their tower, then waddling bot or top for a strong gank. His ult and chargeslow are great gank initiators.

RoA is a good item on him, but deathcap asap is your best bet to be scary. You'll need to hoard those blue buffs a bit more, but an early deathcap means that you can hit one barrel and now the enemy mid is in combo kill range.

I've experimented with just massing RoAs on Gragas for infinite slows and barrels on a tank, but full AP is the way to go, and you'll still be tankier than most people in the game.

That and you play Gragas like a madman...though I suppose that goes for any character you play. I can only imagine you playing soraka. I remember the last time I played with you that you played him 4 people tried to chase you through the jungle, you made 2 turn around from barells in bushes and killed an over agressive Udyr.

It is worth noting the skin sales this week: http://br.leagueoflegends.com/pt-br/... (Brazillian server, should be up on NA/EU later)

Those are three very nice skins and all will be going up to 1350 RP next week, so probably worth buying now. Damn you Riot.

Wondered if they would do that, in advance of the price changes...

I don't even own Naut, but that skin is awesome.

they messed the skin up though...the moon bounce isn't as bouncy as it used to be.

word is there's a new ultimate (legendary) skin coming next month. based on stuff i've read, i'm guessing it's for viktor based on his rework...

Currently on the PBE, there is Runeguard Volibear, Blackfrost Anivia and Icedrake Shyvana (the latter 2 I will buy). The Shyvana and Anivia skins are (I believe) goign to be legendary. I've seen nothing on Viktor yet though.

yeah, i'll be all over the anivia one myself. As for the Ultimate, that's Pulsefire Ezreal tier. Should be interesting.

Pulsfire Udyr incoming.

I actually went looking for that and found this instead.

Well, posting recaps of oily's misery is always a worthy cause! Let it not be said that his suffering went unsung:

As an added bonus, here are a few examples of spectacular code:

Those all seem legit to me.

Been saying that for a while! I love playing him, hate laning against him!

God damn you, Crinkle. You couldn't set that to music? I think that would make a good montage.

In other news, BEST SKIN ON SALE NOW TOMORROW.

it's pretty obvious that blitz's hooks and nid's spears share the same hitbox...

Sprites not lining up with the hits the server registers are nothing new. But it is nice to see that I can dust off some old Doom II complaints. Of all our childhood lessons "I HIT YOU...NUH UH!" applies most in games.
