Stumbled across Planetary Explorers - it is both on Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight. There is an Alpha build available off the Kickstart page. It looks pretty good - may interest a number of the Community here.
And backed. I have to admit, it was the Bluth Staircar that sold me.
Rock, Paper, Shotgun has been following this game since last year. Here's their articles for anyone interested.
Glad to see this Kickstarter giving out a free blast at the alpha to decide if I should back or not. Usually you have to back it to get to the Alpha, only to find it's not what you thought it was going to be! Downloading now.
Good to hear. I downloaded the alpha, and will be giving it a try tonight. I'm assuming at this stage multiplayer is not available? (I will properly dig into the details no doubt after I've given the alpha a whirl..)
I'm in at the $25 after just a couple of minutes of the first video. I may go to the $80 tier after actually checking out the Kickstarter as it looks like something I'd love to play with the kids and my brother so I can burn through four copies. I've been on another KS binge lately though, I need to see what my pending damage is. Luckily this binge has been indie games and not more robots and quadcopters.
Where do you download it at?
http://pathea.net/planet-explorers
Has either indieDB or torrent versions. It just gives you a zip file with a directory in it, no installing needed.

Ok, excuse the thicko question but..... how do you dig? I used the 'Shovel Script', which made some funky lights flash over my character, but I can't for the life of me work out how to use it. I also picked up the supplies, but I think I used the herbal medicine, as I attempted, and failed, to give it to the NPC....
Guess this is too far removed from my usual strategy games for me just to pick up instantly.
Looks absolutely fascinating though, and very polished for an alpha, from what little I've seen so far.
A few more glasses of rum, and I highly doubt I won't have backed this by the end of the night...
EDIT:
Ok I worked out that you have to use the medicine, and then replicate it, but I can't find the peach flower.... or create a shovel, woodcutting axe, and whatever the third early thing is...
Maybe I need more hand-holding...
Thanks! I finally worked out that you can use the knife to cut wood, and the rest of the tools fell into place I totally didn't think to make a sword and shield (haven't found the scripts for those yet, but I'm sure I will). All of the animals I've met so far didn't appreciate me being there, and apparently punching them does not give me the upper hand in the fight
I'll get there eventually, but like I said, this isn't normally the type of game I go for, however, it certainly has caught my attention... Another rum you say? sure! I may even end up in Frarkin frogohs frapulisim sometime soon
Also, loving the music..
Excellent. Backed at $25 tonight, that may increase as I get more into it.
Oh my is it dark at night.... I lost the NPCs I was supposed to be following/protecting. Also, the two NPCs i recruited to my team ran off to fight some spider-looking beastie... they never returned... Maybe I should've armed them first!
Fair warning, however, there may be many more 'beginner' questions from me
EDIT: Everyone on GWJ should greenlight this! Even if they're not interested in playing it!
Save early, save often. Alpha quality software, you know.
Wow, this looks really cool, thanks for posting or i'd have missed it. Backed at $25 just now.
There's a bit of wonkiness. I went to do my usual "invert Y axis" and found out that is "invert horizontal" in the game. (I guess they are meaning "invert about the horizontal axis".) Some glitchiness in movement too but hey, alpha software.
Died a couple of times and can't find one of the flowers I need for the first healing potion (or whatever it is). Looks like I need to explore further.
I am in at the $20 level (and actually have been in for a while).

Bellflower? Its closer than you might think.
Different ecosystems in different terrain, check the mountain near the camp.
I agree, but I haven't had one crash and other then NPC/Mob pathing goofiness I haven't had an issue.
I've crashed a few times, mostly when fast travelling. The autosave works fairly well, just have to remember to manually save, particularly when swapping into build mode to play around with the builder.
You will die early on so invest in revives, you start with 15. Most of the big mobs will one shot you. Bows are your friend. Oh, and f*ck you firebears, f*ck you hard you bastards.
Bows are nice, ammo is easy to get for them. Now, the firebears?
Custom guns. I made a quad-barrel custom twohander, and it pours out bullets like a firehose. Problem is, of course, is it pours out bullets. Goes through ammo like crazy, you spend a lot of time mining.
Trying to make a cheap, low tech armed vehicle. I can make a slow, hard to steer little car, but if I arm it, it has a tendency to blow up when I try to deploy it. Or burn, its rather disconcerting to be sitting in a car that is covered in fire and smoke.
Was playing story mode and enjoying myself quite a bit. After a certain point I wanted to just ditch the story and go on adventure mode but that failed to load for me. I'll be keeping an eye on this game regardless. I love the fact that minecraft style whatever became a genre unto itself. Needs a name? World builders, world games? Something like that.

Yeah, there's this, StarForge, loosely Blockade Runner, and today I just found out about Anteworld which is really more of a showcase of the engine they're making.
Come on Goodjers, spread the word, play the Alpha and Kickstart it. They are so close. Less than $8000 to go.
Agreed, I've asked pretty much everyone I know to greenlight it, even if they're not that interested.
On Greenlight, is there any way to see where they rank/chances of getting greenlit this time around?

I think that's only exposed to the dev.
In at $80.
Now I just need to make some friends to share my copies with.
Will you be my friend?
FR sent on Steam. Already bought in so don't need a copy
EDIT: So close for them now, less than $1600 $1000 to go!
Voted for on Greenlight, which is all I could do since I don't have the budget for anything video game related. Hope it gets a huge KS bump in the remaining days from those that can contribute.
You can still play the alpha for free and contribute to bug reports, without costing a penny. That, and Druidpeak is looking for friends
