Easymoney for FREE? Lucky bastards, that program is AMAZING, totally worth the $10 I spent for the full version.

How would you compare EasyMoney to Aishu's Home Budget or YNAB?

Haven't used either of 'em, but I use it for pure money tracking and to see where my money has gone. For budgets I use excel.

I'm looking for an app that makes it easy for me to web-host pictures that were captured by my phone. I have been using photobucket, but with an intermediate transfer to my computer. Anyone have recommendations?

Check out Trovebox
trovebox.com
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...

They set you up with an online gallery, the app will auto-upload to the gallery.
I helped beta test it and it's really come a long way. I'm surprised they only have had 7 downloads, to be honest...

Here's a link to an image

They used to be called open photo.
here you can see what they offer for plans (only 2, free or paid)

EDIT:
You can also set some images to be public or not.
https://groan.trovebox.com

I have 160+ images in my gallery but only that one is public.

It looks like Flickr has an official app, and there are several unofficial apps that will upload to Picasa if you already have an account for either of them.

Edit - since you already are using Photobucket, they have an official app too.

Thanks groan and Stengah, I'll try flickr and trovebox out when I get home from work. I had the photobucket album for my iPod, but it failed to let me upload any pictures from there and the web interface doesn't often play nice for me.

Also groan, my phone says trovebox has 1000+ downloads but only 6 reviews.

Do you want them immediately publicly viewable? If you only want them privately, Google+ has something called Instant Upload. Any pictures or videos will be uploaded to a private album immediately (or as soon as you're on wifi, there are a bunch of configurable options).

I'm happy with trove box actually. I have been using that to post pictures here this week and its simple and easy.

I'm happy to hear that!
Spread the word!

For those who have rooted their devices, or using an independent ROM; what are your thoughts on Titanium BackUp vs ROM Tool Box?

I've been using Titanium pretty much since my first rooted device (Xperia X10), but lately I've heard pretty good things about ROM Tool Box.

Rom Toolbox is FAR better. I use it to back up all the aps (just the apps, not the data, I do that in the specific apps), flash new rom, and restore from Rom Toolbox. Easy peasy. Also makes it VERY easy to move apps to the SD card, which is essential for my old phone. It also has replaced other apps because it has an awesome file browser, task manager and CPU speed changer, for example. Plus it now can do backups to the cloud, which is really cool.

Is there a good minimalist browser besides Opera Mini? The rate of "failed to transcode url" errors seems to be increasing for me as of late.

Chrome has always performed fast enough for me. Think you have to be on 4.1 or later to install it though?

Boat Browser Mini was quite fast and handy last time I used it a few months ago. I'd need to check it out again, since i switched to Dolphin for its text wrap around that Boat didn't provide that last time.

Anyone have a good data monitor that they like?

This one looks promising.

Today's free app of the day at Amazon.com is Jump Desktop ($9.99).

Looks like the software works with Windows, OSX and Linux. I have no experience with it, but if you're in the market for a remote desktop program for your Android device, it may be worth a look!

Thanks. Always wanted to try one of those.

I just got the Galaxy S4, and I thought it might finally be time to try to go back to Pocketcasts full time vs Doggcatcher. I think I still like the "workflow" of building my podcast playlists on the old version of Pocketcasts that I had to give up on due to it's instability. Managing playlists just seems odd.

And I think I found a bug. If I try to delete a Smart Playlist, it deletes my manual playlist instead. I've repeated it over and over.

Another things, the included audio speed adjustment seems to be inferior to Presto's audio. Almost makes things sound clipped, or maybe the 2.2x speed is slightly faster than what 2.2x speed in Presto actually is. I suppose I could test them by racing podcast playback to see if they finish at the same time on my two phones, but I don't know that I care enough.

Going to stick with it a bit. It definitely LOOKS better. I want to like it, because I really liked the old Pocketcast (outside the instability).

I use Data Counter Widget (Google Play) and it works great for my purposes.

So I got a Kindle Fire HD last weekend and I love it so far.

I looked into getting a sketch app for it and ZOMG there are like 30+ of them.

Any recommendations? Do they work well on a Kindle Fire HD?

No idea. But I've got one too and love it as well.

I've only ever used Pocketcasts on my Nexus. Their last major update was pretty amazing. Something drastic would have to happen to get me to switch from it these days.

There seem to be a zillion flashcard apps out there. Does anyone use one? Which do you like? The kid will probably find one useful for vocabulary study when he takes spanish next year.
