Doh! Guess I should have made my roster moves last night. Are we changing our sim schedule this season?

I'm one game over .500 and no one's hurt. Let's just stop the season now.

Oh! I'm sorry, I got so wrapped up in the off-season and everything I forgot out schedule. New file tonight, and the next one won't be until Friday evening!

Pittsburgh and Boston are tied for 1st in NL East. I suspect the Pierogies are playing beyond our abilities, and I suspect those Whiteflaggers are playing either at their level or slightly below.

Our batting will certainly regress back to normalcy. No way we can sustain that .302 team batting average. I need to make some moves to shore up our pitching in order to staying in this race. Looking forward to getting our staff ace Chris McDaniel back from the DL in a few weeks.

My Rookie-of-the-Year candidate 2B Bo Rao (which incidentally means 'Meat Buns' in Chinese I'm pretty sure) is 2nd in batting average and 2nd in strikeouts.

What are the requirements for joining the league? I had pre-ordered 14, but grew unhappy with the other simulators I tried out and have now bought 13 as well.

Send a PM to Prederick as he runs the league and can hook you up with all the necessary info.

Sounds like the most interesting player in the league. If he hits the ball, interesting things happen.

That and his name definitely translates into Meat Buns.

Boston's got some weird pitching and lineup issues with players on the DL (including our third best starter), and some other issues that should iron themselves out soon. I think Pit and Bos will be pretty close all season, both should make the post-season, or at least have teams capable of doing so.

Well, I'm definitely feeling the hurt of losing my trainer Enrique Manuel in the off-season. Injuries have plagued my more productive hitters in April, as I've had Angel Perez, Marty Gunn, and Santiago Vela have all seen some type of injury that's put them out for multiple weeks. Vela, who was an above .300 hitter last year, is out for two months. Blech, really wish I took a closer look at all that stuff now.

After an 8-17 April, here's hoping that these injury issues don't continue. Otherwise Portland won't be able to attempt to make a wild card upset this year

Ah, injuries. How they use to plague me like the devil. Now I have nothing to blame my mediocre play on but the running of the team.

Well, consider this at least. We're playing on the normal injury level, not the "Realistic Modern-Day" level the game has.

Anyone else have their ballpark change this year? Last year I played in Ballpark of Atlanta, which had a seating capacity of 49,900. This year I've got Ballpark of San Diego (which makes more sense, I guess) and it has a capacity of 35,800. Hopefully I can crank up the price (currently at $25) and not get burnt too badly, as it looks like I averaged somewhere in the 45k range.

At some point last season, I noticed that the ballparks were off. People were playing in the wrong park for the team and geographically. So I went in and fixed it for every team. That's the stadium you should have been working with from the get-go before the game inexplicably decided a San Diego team deserved to be playing across the damn nation.

That said, 35,800 isn't the biggest stadium on earth. Give me a day or two, and i'll see if I can figure out some fun ideas for things like Stadium expansion and the like.

Also, new file!

I'm not too worried about it, but expansion possibilities etc. might be interesting. I'm sure I can scalp my fans enough to make up the difference.

That explains why I have more space in my stadium this season. Interesting.

Holy crap, 7 games losing streak.
Went from 1st place to 5 games back in one sim. Lame.

New file!

Some early-season notes:

San Diego and LA are currently setting the pace, assuming the Pace Car is going 150 mph and everyone else is just doing 55. I don't know how the game spat out Brian Burke, but holy sh*t that guy. Manuel Silva's on pace for a 70-HR season (fat chance). Michihiro Higashi is having one hell of a rookie campaign so far. So is Fernando Benitez. Charlotte's Eddy Williams threw one hell of a no-hitter on May 15th, going the full distance, striking out 11 and walking 3 in the season's best pitching performance thus far (and one of the best pitching performances in league history). Yes, he did it against Las Vegas, but whatever.

New file! This year's draft is very, very strong compared to last year's, I think. There are six 5* blue chippers available, the best of which is probably 21-year-old Dominican star Luis Ventura. He's a great hitter, has some serious pop in his bat, and can even run a bit. The $7M pricetag is probably a bit though.

EDIT: Whoop, had to re-upload. Re-download the file if you need to.

Pittsburgh Pierogies. Free falling.

And the hottest team in baseball are the Phoenix Henchman... wait, what?? I guess that pep talk I gave where I promised liquor and strippers after every win got these guys motivated.

New fi.... DAMMIT. Alright, I'm sorry, I'm off on our scheduling. New file tonight, next sim Friday.

Phew. I took care of my team last night just in case you simmed early again

Is anyone else having issues with OOTP? I was having crashing issues, so I uninstalled and reinstalled OOTP13, and redid all the saved_games folder and all. Now I'm getting database errors when I try to load the current files, and I'm showing a game date of sometime in '13. I've redone this a few times with identical results. Suggestions?

Sorry bro. I've not had any issues.

Yeah, I haven't had any issues with crashing or anything like that, and I'm as updated with patches/season files as I can be as of yesterday morning.

Yeah, I've totally deleted all the files and downloaded the most recent installer, but I'm not sure where else to look. I know the program saves data in multiple locations, so I'll have to do some more digging.

Welcome to the league Absurddoctor. Good luck in turning Richmond around, they haven't had a lot of success in their past.

Oh goodness, I forgot to mention!

Yes, everyone extend a warm welcome and a promise to attempt to fleece in every trade to Absurddoctor and BillT, who have both joined the good ship GWJ OOTP League! Doctor is now head of the Richmond Raptors, while BillT owns the Memphis Blues.

Very weird. My only suggestion would be trying to download the league file directly from the website, see if that helps at all.

Welcome Absurddoctor and BillT!

Just a terrible week. BTW, you are welcome Brooklyn!

Seems like there is a new file...:)
