For Orcs Must Die, what's the deal with the franchise? The demo seemed sort of fun? Should I pick up 1 + DLC, 2+ DLC, or just 2, or what do people recommend?

OMD and OMD 2 are both fantastic. I say buy all of it if the price is right.

Does anybody know if you buy the pack if the owned content is giftable? I assume not. Sometimes the Steam list isn't fully up to date.

At least buy OMD 1 + DLC, and get yourself a bunch of Goodjers on your steam friends list and you can compare scores.

OMD 2 adds co-op, a new class, and of course lots more maps, traps and weapons. If you just get OMD 1 for now, you can rest assured it will all be on sale again many times at this same price or better.

Dead Island GOTY is $4.99 at Amazon DD

Nope.

Extra copies will only be issued as a special promotion in the following specific cases:
  • Users who own "Left 4 Dead" and then go on to purchase "Left 4 Dead + Left 4 Dead 2 Bundle" will receive an extra copy of "Left 4 Dead"
  • Users who own “Half-Life 2” and go on to purchase “The Orange Box” or the "Valve Complete Pack" will receive an extra copy of “Half-Life 2”.
  • Users who own “Half-Life 2: Episode One” and then go on to purchase the "Half-Life 2: Episode Pack”, “Valve Complete Pack” or “The Orange Box” will receive an extra copy of “Half-Life 2: Episode One”.
  • Users who own "Dawn of War II"and then go on to purchase "Dawn of War II Gold Edition" will receive an extra copy of "Dawn of War II"
  • Users who purchase the available four packs for specific Steam titles will receive three extra copies of that title to gift to friends.
  • Extra copies may apply as a part of some limited time promotions. In that case, information on what will be included with your purchase will be listed on the storefront's transaction page.

These special promotions will allow you to send a gift pass for your extra copy to a friend who does not already own the game.

These promotion do not apply to any games other than those specifically listed.

I assume that's right, but there have been games in the past where it worked that weren't on the list, just like there are games you can enter the codes into Steam to activate a Steam copy that aren't included in that list, either.

Not like it's huge money. I'll probably wait on OMD2. I still never finished the first, although I did enjoy what I played.

I highly recommend getting both OMD and OMD 2... My biggest wish while playing OMD was for coop, which OMD 2 fulfilled. But OMD 2 is desigend around coop, so some of the levels get really tricky playing solo. The DLC is pretty optional for both of them-- new weapons & traps, new maps, etc., but nothing essential, and some of the adds are a bit imbalanced.

Really, though, you could just get OMD and see if you like it long term before jumping on the rest. It's been out long enough that it'll be on this kind of sale again.

Yes, but they're already covered in that list: "Extra copies may apply as a part of some limited time promotions. In that case, information on what will be included with your purchase will be listed on the storefront's transaction page."
The standard rule is that you will not get a gift copy if you already own parts of a bundle.

Yes.. and so tempted to double-dip on it.

Only double-dip? I wonder which arcade title I own on more platforms, Puzzle Quest, Clash of Heroes, or PvZ?

I have tripple dipped this game, pc, ipad, ps3 lol

Darn it, Jeff, you juuuust beat me with that BL2 deal. I think I'll be getting in on that (finally) today.

Here's a GOG deal in response: D&D Dynamo Stacking Promo. Up to 10 complete DRM-free D&D games for $21.10 or less.

Amazon DD has Borderlands 2 with the season pass for $24.99

the season pass is half off if you want that by itself $9.99

BL2 game only, $19.99

This is the PC download version, it's steamworks, and it's excellent.

We'll have to play some co-op!

Tempting.

Never dealt with Gamers Gate before. I assume they're cool?

They don't require a separate launcher or anything, do they?

Good deal.

Thanks!

No, no separate launcher. In this case, M&M CoH is a Steam code.

They do Steam, Origin, and DRM-free games usually. I don't think they have their own downloader, but just make sure it says any of the above as required and you should be good. I've purchased a few games from them over the years.

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes $2.49 at GamersGate (steam code)

Also, I have found GG to sometimes be a little bit cryptic to navigate. May just be me though. Just throwing that out there as a general caution. But the service itself is nice, no separate app to run, etc. even for non-Steam/Origin games.

No kidding -- I picked it up, tried it out, and am awed by the leaderboards it generated from my friends list.

A lot of folks around here have put a lot of time into this game.

Including Neverwinter Nights 2? This. Is. A. Deal!

No, no separate launcher. In this case, M&M CoH is a Steam code.

In that case, SOLD.

I think it was GamersGate that sent me a password verification when I created the account in plain text via email. Then when I emailed and told them that was disturbing in today's age, they blew me off that that wasn't a security risk.

Don't think I did business with them after that. Did they improve their password security above automatically emailing un-asked for passwords out?

The Walking Dead (Telltale) $7.99 at Gamefly

Back to the Future (Telltale) $4.99

Use coupon code: GFDAPR20 (for U.S.) and GFDAPR20UK (for U.K.) to get these prices.

TWD is Steamworks. I thought it was outstanding.

Agreed. Such a change from the norm in modern gaming.

Back to the Future was pretty fun too. The fourth episode is a little long and tedious but I LOVED how the series ended. Hope they announce more.

Thanks guys, just grabbed the Borderlands 2 pack and the season pass for the low low price of $4.99. I already had $20 credit on Amazon that I'd got for complaining about never getting the pre-order dlc for AC3. So yeah, $4.99 and I now have Borderlands 2 and the Season Pass. That's some high quality gaming for less than a cup of coffee. Woot!

BTTF unfortunately, is not Steamworks through this deal. You have to use the Gamefly client.

GOG has most of the D&D games (Baldur's Gate/Planescape Torment, etc.) in a package for $20
