Torchlight 2 Catch-All

finally put some decent time with this, being on vacation away from the console. It is pretty much as great as I expected, but I'm wondering how far along until the full set of town support dudes show up. I rescued the enchanter somewhere and now I'm wondering if I missed the item combining dude somewhere.

Will probably be awhile yet as Salan is now working on his Paladin class. He seems to bounce around from working on the town to the classes as inspiration hits him.

He also is working with CatDog and Kelin Tor on the pet test atm, if ya haven't checked it out yet it's pretty damn sweet.

There are also class contributions such as the Ninja and the Theolentist that he is less involved with but still takes a little time to incorporate into his updates. Not so much the Teolentist of late as the author seems to have not updated it in awhile, but it all takes time. I am quite impressed with how quickly he and his little crew come out with updates though. Seems like something new every couple of days. I check it daily to keep up with the official release and the test portions of the mod.

But, what about the Mac version...?

Time to reinstall.

About those that bought directly from runic, are they left out?

You get the patch, mods and editor, but you don't get steam workshop. As far as I know, all versions are as equal as possible.

Asks the guy with a Steam icon for his avatar and whose tag is 'powered by steam'.

Any recommendations on Mods to try? I looked at the list last night and didn't see anything that jumped out at me. Quite a few "cheats" and such, but nothing obviously cool.

Post the best Mods here so I can be lazy and just listen to you guys!

The only one I used during my limited time with the game was SynergiesMOD, which, while incomplete (at the time), was quite enjoyable as it not only added a necro class, but also ramped up the difficulty and variation of mobs.

Did someone create an Xbox 360 controller mod for the PC version? man that would be awesome

always with the controllers...... you damn kids need to stay off my lawn!!!

It's always the same: I'm hugely excited by the idea of mods, but then actually browse them and see nothing at all that excites me. Anything that constitutes a cheat or messes with the game balance, unless it's a well documented overhaul to address some well explained issue with the original, is right out for me. I'm sure there's going to be some with Guts out now, but as for now I'm still sticking to vanilla.

Playing Torchlight with a controller? Perish the thought, I like my mouse and keyboard for this one!!
Like Jlaakso, I was a bit underwhelmed at the couple of mods I took a look at earlier. I'll also be sticking to vanilla for now.

It's only been out a day. That's the same problem with anything though, 99% of everything is crap, look at every game ever, and the mods for those games that allow it. I'd say you need to have a ton of "Johnny's first mods" as a prerequisite to have stuff like Nehrim, they don't just appear out of nowhere.

I'd just like some customizable HUD elements. I miss WOW for that alone, being able to customize the GUI was such a great option for a game.

Finally bought this, now that I've caved and put Windows on my Mac; anybody playing this right now and want to jaunt about?

Been thinking I need to back to this one. My first play-through kinda stuttered out when my co-op partner lost interest in playing.

Torchlight 2 took me a few months to finish. It's beautiful and fun, but I kept getting distracted by other games and then it took quite some effort to get myself to play Torchlight2 again. It's definitely a bigger more beautiful game than the first game, but it feels as if it's missing something that the first game had.

It's probably missing the newness of the first.

Might be onto something there, I skipped the first game and spent 25 hours with the game without touching anything else.

I don't know, I never finished either game. I put dozens of hours into each, but got my fill before getting to the end of both. It doesn't bother me much, as I got more than my money's worth out of each. But they're not games with lasting appeal for me. If they had better stories or more engrossing atmosphere, it might be different.

Just restarted the game. It seems I lost my save with my dead hard drive and the backups gotten overwritten. Anyways, if anyone sees me on, I'm game for some co-op.

I've admittedly put about 3 times the amount of time into the first one, but I think that's largely down to it hitting when there weren't as many other games competing for my attention. It was (and really the second one too) kind of the perfect low intensity thing to play with the sound off while watching something on tv, but I watch a lot less tv when there are console games that I want to play.

When I play games like this my favourite thing to do is make a minion master with lots of pets running around doing my bidding. Is there any of that in this game? Or maybe in a mod even?

Synergies mod. Play as the necromancer. It's a minion-master's dream.
