NCAA13 GWJ BCS League, Season II (360): Week 7 (League Deadline: 2/28/2013 @ 11:59pm ET)

Maybe we can at least play out this season on the BCS side, then see. If Zell wanted to grab UNC in the other league, that'd be fine. We're all doing well enough 3 seasons in that I think everything would work out.

I'd like to get to the conference championship game in this league, though – that match-up with Zell is looking tough!

Yeah I am ready to roll. I would like to play out the season, then if we wanted to switch to the other league, I would jump over there.

You might consider joining just before the start of the next season. We'll hopefully be done with off-season recruiting soon.

I'll join up sometime tonight

You'll probably have to get an invite from Shag, if you don't have one already.

What BS. Purdue beats Iowa 24-21. I threw 4 INTs, 2 in the endzone, 2 BS. However, the story of the game is penalties.

Iowa is listed as having 6 penalties for 53 yards, but it seemed more. Almost all of those were holding penalties, at least two of those happening on TD plays. As I was trying to come back late in the 4th, I had converted a crucial 3rd-and-5 only to have that called back for holding. From there I converted on a nice pass, only to have that called back for holding as well. On the drive prior to that, I had a holding call negate a go-ahead TD.

Then, when I finally did get the ball back and was able to tie the game with 44 sec left, Purdue converted two miracle 3rd downs and went down to score a FG with 2 sec left on the clock. The key there was freshman TE Carlos Carvajal, who caught 3 passes for 108 yards, 2 of those for 44 on the final drive. He just tooled my LBs, even when I controlled them.

Ugh. Depressing.

In 5 redzone trips, I had 1 TD and 1 FG. Purdue converted 8-12 3rd downs; their starting QB went 12-15 with 3 TDs. They won, even while giving up 6 sacks and an INT from their backup QB.

wow...seems like the opposite of my game. It started off close, but Iowa st lost steam when I knocked their starting QB out of the game. It was all downhill after that. I had 12 or 13 TDs by the end of the game...two from Defense. Iowa just lost heart. I pulled my starters mid third quarter but it didnt matter. They were just outmatched. Plus I got my starting HB back in the lineup (97 overall) He was averaging 7.5yrds per carry. I did have 6 turnovers, but they had 5 so it kinda evened out. I know two of my turnovers were total BS. One was clearly on the ground but their saftey picked it up and ran...wasnt overturned. The other, My WR was WIDE OPEN, but the safety started to break the second I wound up the pass...he made it to the WR before the ball did. Otherwise, it was just numbskull mistakes on my part. Still, beat them 82-38. Oops.

We've rolled...

Getting a MLB that was also targeted by UNC is small solace after my game!

By the way, Iowa killed a bad Illinois team last night behind a defense that caused 5 turnovers and 10 sacks.

Also, if you want to see some nifty running, check out the INT replay from the Iowa-Northwestern game a week ago...my CB should maybe play offense given the way he jukes past the defenders on his way to a TD.

Iowa beat Tennessee, 52-14. Iowa's defense forced *7* turnovers, including 6 INTs. Both of Iowa's starting CBs got their 9th INTs of the season.

Iowa's offense was okay. QB Terrance Cochrane shrugged off 2 early INTs to finish 24/42 for 361 yards, 5 TDs, and 2 rushing TDs. However, he was also sacked 6 times. Tennessee was blitz crazy, and I didn't adjust well enough. Thankfully Iowa's 1st string HB came back from injury, because both the 2nd and 3rd stringers were injured last week. Iowa's leading TE is also out.

On the other side, Iowa's defense only got 1 sack, but I'll take the 7 turnovers...

I have to beat Nebraska next week to get into the Big 10 championship game against Zell. Here's hoping I don't choke...like I did, evidently, against Purdue.

Zell – you're up!

?? I played last night...pulled out a win against Mich State 63-56.

EDIT: Looks like it didnt record. Lame. I'll play tonight.

That sucks. Sorry...sounds like a tough game. My prediction for the rematch: 63-14.

Georgia Tech rolls over UCLA 27-14. Tech dominated except for two costly INTs by the starting QB. One of which was returned for a TD. Next up is West Virginia.

GOD MSU WILL NOT GO DOWN EASY! You guys need to check out how close that game really was. I was losing by ten with 1:38 left to go. I pulled out the W 52-48, but my nerves were shaking and I was having to pull out all my tricks to get that one.

Nice to pull out the win!

I'll roll when I get home after work. I have one more game, an effective play-off game against Nebraska for admission to the Big 10 championship.

Holy crap, MSU ran a lot of plays!! 63 passes + 33 rushes = 96 total plays?? And your defense gave up 509 yards passing and >100 yards rushing? Wow, crazy game.

We've rolled. And I have a bye. Damn.

I swear, no matter who I covered or what I did, they converted 3rd downs. It was a fireworks show in the north. It was brutal. Still, We gave it right back to them. Deep throws and short inside tosses, counters and screens. Slants and outroutes....It was easy a top ten game of mine. The fact that I was able to come back down 10 with 97secs left in the game. That was beauty.

I will get my game in before I go to bed tonight.
