Boston-area S&T - Pinball Wizard in Pelham, NH - April 13th!

Heya folks - during PAX East, I went to the PAPA Pinball panel, and now I've got the bug to shoot some silver balls really bad.

What: Goodjer S&T
Where: Pinball Wizard in Pelham, NH
When: Saturday, April 13th, noon to whenever

The 13th is the start of April vacation for MA, so the place might see a little more action than a regular Saturday.

I'll be shooting to be at Suppa's next door for 11ish to grab some grub ahead of time, and then mosey on over to Pinball Wizard around noon.

Not into pinball? Well, first - you should be. But none of us will hold it against you. They've got plenty of arcade machines as well, ranging from the late 70s through to modern games, and even some ticket games. As for food, there's a kick-ass family pizza place next door, a Chinese place, a Dunk's, a Shaw's, and a Chunky's Cinema. Last S&T we did here, we went and caught Wreck It Ralph afterwards and had some beers and apps.

Demyx and I don't have anything planned that weekend and this sounds like the perfect cure for the post-PAX blues.

Also, check out The Pinball Arcade on your preferred system of choice (except PC). Pinball Wizard has most (if not all) of the tables they've released which is really cool.

Should be able to make this one, since I won't be on the fence of going to California for work like last time.

Sounds like fun. I should be able to make it. Anyone know if they have the old Ninja Turtles game? I'm dying to play that one again.

Sadly no. Actually, they don't have any of the Konami beat-em ups from that era.

However, I'd be up for planning a trip to Funspot/ACAM later this Spring or early Summer if there's interest. I remember they had Simpsons and TMNT last time we were there.

Pinball Wizard does have the Simpsons 4-player game though.

I'm fairly certain that Funspot has X-men, (both?) TMNT, and Simpsons.

I have been known to sit there and dump tokens into the Gauntlet Legends machine on more than one instance. I still think the Super Nintendo machine is my favorite...I love the F-Zero music, it is up there with Mega Man 2.

Tagging for interest. I'm not 100% certain on my schedule, but I think I can swing it.

@Costontine, the last time I tried the TMNT Brawlers I was devastated. They didn't live up to the nostalgia. They were the XBLA versions though, maybe a cabinet holds up better.

@SOLIDARITY oh that's a bummer.

I'm down for any multiplayer game people want to play, Gauntlet included.

Interested, but I think RedPanda will be freshly back from a week of business travel at the time. Call it a tentative yes.

I think I should be able to make it, potentially with 1-4 accompanying family members. And Gauntlet Legends sounds perfect.

Spouses, partners, and children are totally welcomed to join.

So this is also a long weekend for some people since Patriot's Day falls on the 15th. For anyone on the fence, you might have a free day to spend with the rest of us!

I was just telling my wife that I wanted to go here sometime in April! I've been waiting for them to get their WOZ machine. My life's been a bit hectic lately but I'll try to be there.

Pretty sure I'm in this time.

They talked about going to Pinball wizard on the Giantbombcast. It made me realize that instead of going there with maybe 1 other person like I normally do there will be enough people for a pacman vs, which is a great game.

Pretty sure I'm in. I can give people lifts if they are near Somerville. Also, on the old arcade game front, I've built a PC inside a Nes which has all the arcade ninja turtles games on it. Maybe we can use that for another Meeting?

That is so cool. I have to see that thing!

I'm very interested. Currently have nothing on the docket for that day. May make a family outing of it.

I think Nicole and I are going to try and make it. It pretty much depends on how much work/baby prep we have to do that weekend.

It doesn't look like I'll be able to attend the meet up. But I have good news for the pinball fans that are going to make it.

Might be able to soon Not sure I'll be bringing the nes up, but I'm sure I'll be having a party sometime.

I'm totally going to this, just putting a call out for people that want to car pool or lifts. Just let me know.

Thanks.

How much money should I be toting for this shindig?

I should be at this "Suppa's" at 11 sharp, btw.

Figure $10 gets you well fed at Suppa's, and Pinball Wizard does that typical "$20 gets you 100 tokens ($25)" thing most arcades do.

Less than $20 gets you straight up 4 tokens per dollar.

Almost all the pinball tables are 2 tokens, the newer stuff is usually 4.

It turns out I have to work pretty much the entire weekend straight through, so I won't be able to make it. Stupid stupid stupid deadlines. I hope you all have a lot of fun though! Can someone take a few pictures so I can live vicariously?

I promise to try to take some blurry and over-exposed pictures with which to gloat and hold over your head.

I should be there, albeit a little late. I'll post tomorrow when I know my ETA.

I need to run an errand or two this morning on our way out so we're looking to be at Suppa's closer to 11:30.

Family needed my truck for some errands. Should be up there closer to 1
