Bioshock Infinite Catch-All

It's showing 9 PM PST for me, so I'm guessing that for the US, it's midnight Eastern.

Edit: Now it says 18 hours on the store page for me, so I have no idea at this point.

It's showing 5 hours for me, so surely it's just Steam being glitchy.

All keys are present and accounted for. X-COM? Check! Bioshock? Check! Bioshock Infinite? Check! Civilization V? Check! Brilliant. They're all awaiting installation in my Steam library. What a start for GMG. That was my first venture onto their website. Great value.

I'm glad that my experience- getting bunk keys and poor customer service- is anomaly. I guess if it has to happen to someone, why not me? I still do not plan on using Greenman ever again. Also wonder if they'll respond to any of my email tomorrow (since they chose to ignore it today).

I know they're being hit hard- but it doesn't make my experience okay.

Not okay with this...

Got a couple meetings at work tomorrow morning, then I told my boss I'm taking the rest of day off.

Again, it's just Steam being glitchy. I still see it as unlocking at midnight eastern time.

So tempted to pick this up on Steam so I can play tonight, plus get the free copy of xcom, but this seems like a perfect game for the couch and big screen. My life is plagued by such quandaries.

I'm three hours in on PS3, if you can't play with your PC hooked up to your big screen, go console. Anything to add to the immersion is highly recommended IMO.

Interesting. Nothing does more to lessen my immersion than to play on a television instead of up close on my monitor, to the degree that I've lost the thrill of using Big Picture mode and gone back to my desk, even when using a controller.

Motherf*cking Comcast, why is my Internet connection down, WHY

I think you answered your own question.

Sorry for the bad luck. Hope it corrects itself soon.

Different strokes I guess. A bit of distance between my eyes and the screen, but a screen big enough to reach into most of my periphery and a reasonable sound setup again with some distance to my ears makes all the difference to me for strong narrative games.

I am too, even though I have a CE coming on Thursday. It's mostly that I'm tempted by the copy of Xcom, but I can get that during the Summer/Winter sale.

The RPS Wot I Think, Joystiq review, and GameTrailers review have me very excited about this. Hyped!

I doubt this is the case, but I had an incident where I thought I had received a dead key. I was presented with a list of four keys upon selecting 'Keys' within GMG. I had purchased a bundle of four games, thus I assumed each key corresponded to a single game. The keys are not the most clearly marked as to which game they correspond to. I began entering them one after another, achieving success each time, until it got to the third key which (via elimination) I assumed must be tied to Civilization V. The other three games were redeemed without a hitch as I entered each key for a surprise unveil. The non-redeemable key was instead for some additional content tied to Bioshock Infinite. To lay hands on that requires some Facebook nonsense, I think. To find my Civ V key I had to go to 'Games' and click on Civ V where the key was clearly displayed. That same key was not present with the others on the 'Keys' page.

I would love if someone other than I had experienced such a "Doh!" moment. I'd feel a little less silly, and be happy to see you receive whichever game you are missing.

Anyone know decent podcasts talking/reviewing the game that are out now or this week? I'm going to need something to sate my hunger while I'm out of town, wishing I was playing...

Wanting to fall now
I chose to wait and see what
Summer brings to Steam

Weird. Steam store says I can play now but my library still says pre-load complete. It's 11:00 CST, so my guess is I still have an hour to go and Steam has some bug in the store.

So, I've never pre-ordered on Steam before. Does the game unlock at midnight in my time zone?

Restart Steam and it will start unpacking.

It's 9pm Pacific for me and that worked.

Unpacking for me too - up to 10 minutes on the clock :/

OMG OMG OMG...unpacking now....thanks for the tip georob.

The half hour setup is torture. Now imagine next gen, where we might easily hit 30GB. There's an Infinite joke in there, I think.

Anyone else who ordered from Green Man Gaming know how to apply our pre-order bonus stuff? I don't see anywhere I can enter my account info.

So far this is everything I wanted the game to be.

Minor combat mechanic spoiler,

Spoiler:

first time I used my possession vigor on a man, he cleans up his comrades, I wait and watch having read what happens next... suicide animation is brutal, and two shots not just one!

I have tonnes of cash, haven't seen much that I feel the need to spend on just yet...

First thoughts: beautiful scenes and buildings, hideous foliage.
Really what are these plants i cant stop staring at them

Yep, restarted Steam and was playing a couple of minutes later. Gotta hit the bed as I'm having a minor surgical procedure in the morning. Good part is I'll have the next couple of days to play around with the game!

First impressions are the game certainly is a looker! I just made it into the city, so that's about all I have so far. But the sound and visuals are stunning!

Holy sh*t, this game is amazing and all I've done is wander for 20 minutes and look at stuff!

Spoiler:

Holy sh*t, there's a hummingbird! *stares at hummingbird for five minutes*
Holy sh*t, there's a barge with singing people! Holy sh*t, they're singing a Beach Boys song!

Fedora's right though, the plants look terrible.

Mine won't start.

It looks like it wants to be downloading something, but the download is making no progress. I restarted steam, and same deal. I had previously preloaded a couple days ago. Grr.

Re: iaintgotnopants' spoiler.

Spoiler:

that song was a huge moment for me, fascinating. Saw the hummingbirds, but didn't pay the, much attention. Pretty cool though in hindsight

Try to verify game cache.
