Justified thread

Same here. I hope they don't kill Colt off, but it seems pretty apparent that he's spiraling out of control.

I think the line in which Tim dismisses Colt's suggestion for his book (that an MP beats up an Army Ranger) as "fantasy" was perfectly delivered.

There was so much win in that one episode. I hope they can keep that pace through the finale.

"Who the hell is he?"
"He's the guy who killed yoohoo."
"You mean yolo."
"Whatever"

That was perfect.

It's been a nice slow burn all season with just the right mix of pressure and tension building up for the end.

"Do you want a blowjob?"
"I always want a blowjob."

Said so matter of factly. Perfect for Augustine.

*EDIT*
And I almost cracked up at "People underestimate Bob at their peril."
Fantastic callback with the knife in general.

I was waiting for the knife for a couple minutes there. I told my wife about it; she hasn't seen much Justified, but she can't help being sucked in if she's in the room.

WHY isn't this show 26 episodes per season? I will watch as many as they make. I'm fine with some episodic weeks if that's what it takes (the bare-knuckle boxer was a fine storyline, although not related to the season's plot).

Take some episodes and expand on Tim, Rachel, and Art. Hell, I'd watch them one week without Raylan.

Probably wouldn't be as good if it was.

I'd watch an Art-centric episode; the back-and-forth between him and Raylan is always good stuff.

I wish they hadn't killed off Pruit Taylor Vince so quickly. He'd have made a perfect longer term character. I would have cast him as someone with a little more depth and bite than a drug dealing pawn shop owner.

Dewey Crowe and Dickie Bennett vs. Constable Bob. This episode must come to pass.

Spoiler:

Wasn't Dickie shot dead by Raylan?

I'll happily take just Dewey Crowe vs Bob.

Spoiler:

I fully support this endeavor.

If memory serves:

Spoiler:

He was shot, but not dead.

How about Dickie vs. Cousin Johnny: a gimp fight with huge implications.

See? I love all these ideas. There's a ton of potential here.

And I really enjoy Tim the ex-Ranger sniper. I could watch a lot more of him, and especially him and Art.

Spoiler:

Still can't believe they killed Arlo. Was something going on IRL that necessitated it? Seems like most writers don't close any useful doors until the end, and his relationship with Raylan was always interesting.

So, who is on deathwatch for the season finale?

I am thinking it is going to be twofer: Colt and Augustine.

Put me down for Colt and Cousin Johnny, with an outside chance of Ava Crowder(!).

Good call on Augustine, because that makes a lot of sense and follows a certain pattern, but after his dick soliloquy this week, I'm hoping to see more from him. I'd love for him to come back in the future.

I would love to see Ava's murder give us a storyline where Raylan and Boyd once again team up. These guys are the Tom and Jerry of our time.

I feel like this could lead to some interesting places, depending on the circumstances that cause it.

Colt definitely seems like a sure thing.

Put me down for Drew Thompson.

I think that may be the obvious choice, but I see them getting more plot mileage out of him. I see him getting shanked in prison halfway through next season.

I'd love to see Tim kill him in a not-quite-justified way, secretly, and then be wracked with guilt about it. But that would be an opportunity for character development that they just don't have the episodes for; only Raylan and Boyd really get compelling arcs.

I'm going to say Drew is a mortal lock for death, Colt and Augustine highly likely, and for the outside chance if they really wanted to shake up the status quo, Art, allowing Raylan to be promoted, with Ian McShane playing his new boss, the division director or whatever.

Also an outside chance, Ellen May, but I think it's more likely she flips on Ava, who goes to jail.

Yeah, this season in particular, lots of folks are looking awfully vulnerable. Maybe we should start a dead pool.

I'm all for a pool, though I have no idea how that works. A draft would come down to who won the high picks, since there aren't enough characters to go around, imho.

I'm not at all convinced that Drew has a date with death. The marshals have him right now, and presumably know how to keep him alive to testify/whatever.

I don't know if we have enough episodes left this season to see things develop into a case against Theo Tonin, however, so let me just go ahead and contradict myself by saying that the timing suggests Drew will die, or somehow see his storyline held over to next season.

Dead pool: Everyone picks a name and chucks in n dollars.
Then if your bet dies, you get a share of the payout.
It's like a spectator's tontine.

That version might be tough this particular season, since it seems that Colt is universally considered the most likely to die.

I suppose one could just exclude him from the pool, but that's an imperfect solution.

The bets accurately reflect perceived odds. If everyone bets colt, the action is pretty much nill on it.

Ah. I'm not really familiar with various betting formats, but that's elegant.

Well, one obvious payout...then the show imperils someone who I don't think was even by the grill in anyone's pool.
