Splinter Cell Blacklist - Catch-All

It's kind of weird actually, having played through some of the earlier SC games I really feel they never intended Sam to be anything but a generic guy with a celebrity voice over, but it took on a life of it's own. I still think Ubisoft need to do a better job with SC6 to explain the change, or just suck it up and give Ironside what he wants. There's also the issue of the athleticism of an older guy, and they've been making a point of his age since the first game, they can't have it be a feature of the character and not at the same time.

Like I said, just bring in a new guy and be done with it. Just make Sam the main guy who sits behind the desk or whatever they do.

Like Stargate.

New video. Interesting. They've kept the feel of SC:Conviction. I'm onboard if the reviews are good.

I'm onboard anyway. I had way too much fun with the last one to not be.

It's going to be damn weird without Ironside still.

Amen. I played through the previous one despite uPlay causing me to have to restart virtually from scratch every time I opened up the game, because of weirdness with their cloud saves. If I wouldn't have really enjoyed the game, I'd have stopped playing out of frustration.

Yeah. I'll miss him. His voice was Sam to me and I never felt he did a bad job. It'll be jarring at first but hopefully I'll adjust as we tend to when new actors take over a roll.

In the early trailers the game was looking a bit weird and future actiony. I like that they are getting back to an old school Splinter Cell fell bit with the Conviction stuff that I thought was brilliant. Also, sticky shockers are back. Whoo!

Sweet. That looks awesome.

As much as SC:CT was the peak of the old style of SC, I think it would be hard to justify the series going back to that style. Based on the small section shown it does look like they're expanding the SC:C style to improve the sneaking. The only thing I can think of is the environment interaction, and most of that was flicking lights on and reading emails on computers. Overall I like the direction they've taken where they took away the brightness/sound UI, so you're not watching the HUD you're watching Sam

Watched the trailer again and saw something I really like. No black and white when you're stealthed. Woot!

I don't know how to properly explain my excitement. I have been waiting for this ever since Chaos Theory. Double Agent's Spies vs Mercs just didn't hit the spot, and Conviction's was removed altogether. I haven't really spent time with any multiplayer games since Battlefield 3, but this should fix that problem.

That looks pretty awesome.

Whoa.... did I see that right? 5v3? This just became a must buy.

I'm super excited for this game.

But then I had an absolute ton of fun with Conviction so what do I know.

I rather foolishly never tried the multiplayer until Conviction. Spies v Mercs looks like my kinda game.

I really enjoyed Convictions co-op, but it was no Spies Vs. Mercs.

Oooh, that looks good.

Co-op. Squeeeeeee!

AW YEAH.

And split screen? Double AW YEAH.

I wonder if they'll sell a two pack on steam.

I am already planning MP with a couple friends (I'm too excited). Anyone here getting it on PS3?

Tempting. Very tempting. I'm not sure if this is day one for me, but I must admit it's shaping up quite nicely.

A very basic introduction to spies v mercs but more footage.

Funky.

I like how they list "use teamwork" as a strategy in a team based game.

Obviously extra instructions added for their American audience.

Spies can nab a merc that's been tazed? Even with limited uses that seems kind of unstoppable.

A not completely positive hands on by Rock, Paper, Shotgun. Sounds like the singleplayer may have caught AC3itus. The main alarm bells for me are being led by a glowing dot and a mission suddenly being over when spotted.

Yeah, there's a certain "ubisoft formula" to all their games that I don't really enjoy. For a game I was on the fence about, previews like that don't really encourage me to buy it straight away.
