That looks hilarious. It reminds me of a PC game where 4 players are all bunnies and everyone had to try and jump on each other. It was a bit gruesome. Anyone remember what that was called?

Door Kickers - top down SWAT game!

Edit: Early gameplay footage:

So I picked up Prison Architect. It crashes every time right at the start. Debug file says it cant find the preferences.txt file. Not surprising because that was never created. Not sure what to do about it :/

Make a txt file that contains "I'd prefer it if you worked"?

I'm sure if you toss the developers an email, they'll get you sorted.

I would think that's the risk you take when buying an "early access" game on Steam - the risk that there will be (major) bugs and issues. As Fredrik said, it wouldn't hurt to contact the dev, but you'll probably just have to wait for the next update and hope it works then.

Go to the root dir of the game and see if there's a preferences or setup tool that you can run. Or maybe even just add a file called preference.txt to the root for the game

Another thing to try is running as admin - it's possible the game can't create the file if it's installed in one of Windows' protected directories.

Also read that the game has problems with strange characters in the user name and can't find files and folders if that's the case.

So Dominique Pamplemousse, the stop-motion black and white musical detective adventure game is done and coming out April 1st. It's out for funders already, so I wrote a up a thing of thoughts on it here - basically, it's super charming.

I was able to run Prison Architect on my media pc downstairs. I found it amusing for a little while but ultimately a bit flat. I feel like I got just about all there is to get out of the game in a 3 hour session. I'll be waiting for later versions for multiple reasons now

In the meantime I cant really recommend the game as-is. Save your money for a sandbox alpha with more meat on it like Kerbal Space Program.

I came across a game called Risk of Rain on Greenlight and gave the demo something of a go. It's really quite polished and a good bit of fun. Look at it!

From an outside perspective, it might appear a little cluttered, but it was never an issue in the actual game.

Papa & Yo is coming to Steam! I guess the PS3 version didn't sell enough to cover development costs, so the hope is that the Steam version will make the game a bit more. It's such a good game, and I hope everyone who didn't pick up the PS3 version will grab it.

ibb and obb is almost ready, and it looks splendid. Too long a wait!

Very brief summary of Samuari Gunn; still looking dope.

If you like Samurai Gunn, you might like Super Space _____:

Also, as a general note, you may want to check out Keita Takahashi's Tenya Wanya Teens.

This game has probably been mentioned already, but here is a new video from PAX that's an extended gameplay demo narrated by one of the devs.

What blows my mind is that it's written in QBasic.

Holy crap, that was done in QBasic? Damn, that's pretty impressive.

Yup

THIS MUST GET FUNDED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE DARK SOULS MEETS REDWALL.

Welcome to the crowd-funding campaign for "Ghost of a Tale", which is a small game where you play a little mouse on a quest in a medieval world populated by animals.

So that's what its like for rodents in the Demon's / Dark Souls universe?

I was interested until I saw the combat. What a strange decision. What's the point of having such a different hero when he's like all others? Especially confused that they showed it when it's not even implemented yet; the mouse seemed unaffected by mortal blows.

Edit: Forgot to post this crazy cool thing about Starbound. The guys have setup a project tracker that shows how far along different parts are. Looks like we'll be waiting until a least summer.
