Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Wii U & 3DS) Catch-All

A Capcom community guy (Yuri) in this thread says that MH3U will be releasing at midnight on the eShop, if anyone else is buying digitally.

O RLY?

This has me very excited now. That means... only one more sleep!

Or like, one and a half?

You're right, I won't be able to play it right away because it will be downloading. So I'll stay up till midnight, buy the game and start the download, then go to sleep!

You can set your alarm clock based on the estimated download time!

Yeah. That would totally get me in trouble. Mind you, I usually wake up at 6:30 anyway, so I could squeeze in a half hour before the family gets up and the breakfast/school/work routine starts.

Alright, so I'm staying up till midnight to start downloading this thing! A midnight launch where I don't have to line up and I can chill out in my jammies. I like this.

Less than 2 hours here on the East Coast!

I was up at midnight last night, and Lego City Undercover didn't pop up. It was there when I woke up at 6:30 though. So if it's not there right at midnight, I'm not sure you (we...) should wait around.

Huh, ok. Thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely head to bed soon after if it doesn't show up.

I bet it shows up around 3. NoA is headquartered in the pacific time zone, after all.

No sign of the full version yet this morning.

EDIT: for 3DS anyway.

Yeah, guess it'll be noon. I am disappointed, digital future.

I would just blame Nintendo, but Sony's day-one digital crap sometimes doesn't go up until like the late evening of release day.

Wooooo! Out for delivery! Should be on my doorstep by the time I get home from work today

I probably won't be able to hop on until later, though--like 9pm est or so. Violin lessons and whatnot.

Well, I'm walking home at lunch (1) despite this damn snow to see if I can download it then. Because I am a junkie.

Looks like they meant midnight... somewhere else...

Anyway, glad I didn't wait around too long at midnight... I am slightly disappointed, but whatever.

Not sure if tonight's get together will be much more than gathering!

CptDomano same here, planning to be on around 9pm for a couple hours.

Is that true? I could have sworn that I've purchased things on the Vita before then, but you have to do a search of the PSN store for them. In other words they don't update the main pages, but the game is in the system and purchasable by midnight of launch day. I may or may not have impatiently purchased many Vita games on launch day via PSN. I'm looking to get this for the 3DS as well. I'm waiting for the physical launch, though, and some reviews. I'm also curious if I shouldn't be considering Luigi's Mansion instead.

It finally showed up in the 3DS e-Shop!

It's on the Wii U eShop as well. Downloading it now!

Hell with the brave new world, I decided supporting independent game stores was at least as important as encouraging Nintendo to keep it up with the digital releases. I managed to pick it up on my lunch hour, so.....woo?

My copy is downloading. I'm going to give this thing a shot.

thats definitely a full w00t! Which independent store do you go to?

awesome! I'd be happy to lend a hand and show you the ropes.

Unfortunately even though my copy is now downloaded and installed, family duties prevent me from playing until tonight after the kids bedtime... How long between starting the game, creating a character and getting online?

I've been trying to throw some business at Iceman's Games (what a name!) down in Kensington Market. Besides just generally being a fan of all things Kensington, I also appreciate that they have a disproportionately large amount of JRPGs in stock. I also like Game Shack down in the Atrium on Bay, though I'm rarely down there nowadays.

EDIT for topic relevance: Sad I won't be able to get online with you folks, being on the 3DS, but I'm looking forward to swapping war stories and eventual online good times with 4.

I got my pre-ordered physical copy of the game this morning, along with the new Tomb Raider (I picked out four really hot trades, apparently, and had a $2.11 credit left over; sadly, Chicago just doesn't seem to have any independent video game stores that aren't retro-specific...though someone correct me if I'm wrong). I'm going to be jumping in to start learning systems etc. just as soon as the album I'm listening to ends. I'm excited!

thats so great! I'm excited at all the new hunters we have here. I will level with you, the first several hours are slow and boring. Use the time to enjoy the scenery, and get to know the weapon you've chosen. It will all get very stressful soon enough. Enjoy it while its peaceful!

That's what I've heard. I don't mind a bit of homework in such a beautiful setting. Particularly considering the prospective return of killer co-op in taking down giant beasties.

This game makes me wish the 3DS had a stick instead of the circle pad. I can't imagine playing an action game with that much precision using the circle pad.

My copy is downloading. Anyone going to be up for playing tonight?

I got kills in the demo with the longsword (katana style), dual blades, hammer and bow. I think I could play the game with any of these and enjoy myself.

I'm planning to be on sometime after 9pm EST, depending on literally how long it takes me to create a new character and get through the initial setup and make my way online.
