Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

Holy hell, I'm on Sequence 6 the full sync (or should I say full STINK) requirements have started getting ridiculous. If I'm ever going to finish this game I'm just going to have to give up on that stuff.

I could spend hours of tedium between not taking any damage trying to fight in Leonardo's crappy tank and not taking any damage trying to close the gates against the nine hundred French soldiers. This is just absurd.

IGN has some great hi def Youtube videos that are a great alternative to playing. I quit around 5 or 6, and just watched the videos, and then lost all interest in Assasin's Creed 3. The last parts of Brotherhood were so bad, that I lost interest in tomahawking Red Coats for hours.

Revelations is better.

Oh crap. The tank. I had repressed that memory.

I don't think you get anything for 100% overall, do you? Nothing important, anyway. The last repressed memory whatsit requires a fair amount of sync, but not nearly all of it.

I gave up on getting fully synch. That tank part in particular, oh good grief, like Gewy, I'd repressed it.
And if you don't get enough synch to unlock the last repressed memory, you can always watch it on YouTube, right?

In that case it's possible I might have enough to get there; I generally have not failed to sync more than a few missions. I just find the timed challenges and the "take no damage" missions to be completely un-fun. I don't find much enjoyment in repeating the same levels over and over again to achieve perfection. This is especially a problem in the Romulus missions where you're expected to navigate a maze in under 8 minutes or whatever. The only way to possibly do these outside of getting extremely lucky is to memorize the paths. No thank you, game!

I wouldn't worry about it. Early on I tried a few full syncs, but I quickly said "nope!" once they proved more of a challenge than necessary. It's bad enough a lot of those missions require you to "rehearse" the mission by dying a few times before getting it perfectly right (at 50% sync, at least). To get full sync? Yeah, screw that. I'm guessing that's only there for "replayability".

I got all of the repressed memories, though.

Again, Revelations is better. If nothing more, play Brotherhood so you can be a bit better prepared for Revelations.

I just looked it up and you only need 75% synch for the last memory. So if you'd been getting a lot of complete syncs on the earlier missions where it isn't torture, you can definitely stop worrying about them in the second half of the game.

Yeah I think I did side missions and things that got my completion up enough for the last memory. I don't recall it being particularly difficult.

Damn, all that work for nothing.

Ah, I can put this one away now. That ending - I'm not exactly familiar with Assassin's Creed and I had no idea what was going on. But it certainly was a... thing.
Plus, it was worth it to see an end credit sequence like nothing I've ever seen - 20 minutes of unskippable scrolling credits before the end-game achievement popped? WOW.

I heard the credits for Assassin's Creed 4 will include every delivery (wo)man that brought them pizza, chinese, thai, etc.

Don't forget the people who made those pizzas in the first place!

You forgot to mention the names of their kids, dogs and important inanimate objects.

And the people who appeared in their dreams while they were making the game.

I absolutely loved Assassin's Creed 2. I went in last week and tried to play through Brotherhood; however, I just found the whole experience abysmal. I cannot stand the game. And I just do not understand why. How did I love AC2 so much, yet despise AssBro just as much as I hated AC1? I gave AssBro almost 10 hours, but just gave up and uninstalled yesterday.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

Nah, seemed like just more of the same to me. Only thing is my expectations for AC2 weren't very high and it totally blew them away.

I was in a similar boat. I loved AC2 to bits, and ACBro left me... "meh". I still powered through and finished it but was left wondering at all the high praise it received.

Huh. You guys are crazy. I still think Brotherhood was the peak of the series. It took the excellent framework from 2 and fleshed out Ezio as a character and added the superb Brotherhood of Assassins system. I loved leveling up my minions and have them do my bidding out in the open world. And the ending! Fantastic even though AC3 tries its best to ruin it.

AC1 to AC2 is definitely a greater leap than going from AC2 to Brotherhood, no denying that.

Nevertheless, everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I just thought I'd throw in two cents.

IMO, Brotherhood went a little overboard on the minigames. 2 was just about a perfect balance.

Good grief, this game is huge! I enjoyed playing through for the storyline and working on upgrading various things around Roma, but recently I have returned to the game to try to get 100% sync and it seems that the more I do, the more I still need to do. Whew! I'm beginning to wonder if Brotherhood might just be a bit *too* complex compared to the earlier games with all the different requirements for the syncs. I feel like I'm having to do a lot more managing of things rather than assassinations, but with somewhat less freedom in how I choose to do the assassinations. (I think one of the more annoying parts of the game though is having to get to the bank to withdraw funds when I'm deeply in the midst of other things.)

I'm not really complaining as I'm having fun with the game, but it can get very tiring and stressful to play it for long periods of time when having to do everything *perfectly* for the syncs. (Not to mention yelling at Ezio when he refuses to do what I want. )

God, 100% sync on some of those missions was just the worst.

As of just now, I've gotten 100% sync on all main game sequences except for 3 memories in sequence 8 (haven't yet started the DaVinci DLC) and I'm still only at 52.97% total sync. It's like all the little missions and whatnot take up half the sync in the game! On a good note, I only have the last two War Machines missions to discover and sync and have completed the others. Not sure if either are any of the ones that people find particularly monstrous or not though. I'm hoping I already did the nastiest ones back when I last played!

I used to think timed quests were the worst, but I am thinking that I may dislike the "don't lose any health" type of missions even more.

Wow. Major kudos to you. I gave up on getting 100% sync on most of the missions. I have memories of a rage inducing mission in which you had to climb the Castello without getting spotted at all, it was insanely difficult. :p

That castello mission took me quite a few attempts! There were some times that I would even get all the way up to the very last two guards and get discovered by one of them while taking out the other. It wasn't until I found out that I could get Ezio to throw more than one throwing knife at a time and get both at once that I was able to complete that mission.

I have completed all the main missions now at 100% so will be working on War Machines next to try to get the two I haven't yet done out of the way. I kind of dread doing them though since they involve driving or operating a type of vehicle and I'm generally pretty awful at driving games and will crash into everything the opportunity. Well it must be done!

One of the War Machines missions is the worst thing in any AC game, if you're going for 100% sync. Have fun!

:D

Oh my, that tanks mission is going to be a rough one! I didn't even get past the cannons without taking damage, much less the tanks! I think I'll be okay if I can get used to moving and aiming, but that might take me a while since it's all about the driving.

(Didn't help that I got completely stuck on debris when fighting the tanks too.)

Woo hoo, I got full sync on that horrid tanks mission!! I went soooo slow and carefully that it probably took me about 30-45 minutes to get through it all, but I did it!

Now only one more war machine mission left....which is likely going to involve a lot of Icarus-based crashing maneuvers on my part.

Ugh, the flying machines mission is the worst EVER. I had trouble even completing it the first time. Definitely going to have to do something else before even thinking about trying it again for the 100%.
