Things you should know by now, but only just discovered

Alternate Joke: This new war is kind of like the new Coke.

They'll eventually call it something else to lessen the backlash and then shift it around to other markets?

Poignant political commentary, no? For, like, any war in the past hundred years.

Yeah, war was pretty much the New Coke before it was around forever.

Never should have gone to 4chan. I figured I'd take a look, since I'd never been there before. I don't get it. People talking about stuff that makes no sense, using lingo I will never understand, then all of a sudden, BAM, some dude posts a picture of his dong. Like, for no goddamn reason. Just dong. Doesn't matter if you're under "health and fitness" or "video games", it's all just Asian girls with huge boobs and dicks.

My daughter is never getting on the internet. Ever.

I'm a firm believer in supervised education. I prefer to select the dick and the environment my daughters will get to see before they beat me to it and see dicks in an environment over which I have no control. Let's not kid ourselves, Nicolaas. If our daughters grow up along the expected path, they will want to see dicks, really, really soon - far sooner than either of us likes. I'm just trying to roll with the punches here.

Not sure about 4chan, though. I'm thinking a medical site for anatomy is my first choice, preferably with a cut-out cartoon graphic.

Wait, I'm confused.

I could post a link to a picture that explains that graphically, but I'm pretty sure none of you gentlefolk here would want to see it. Frankly, it's one of those things I DO know by now, but I'm not sure I should.

1st birthdays are a big deal. I learned this hard lesson at 3am last night when my wife kept me up making decorations and again tonight when I mentioned I would got to bed and had 10 items listed that need completion. ... I think I will be up to 5am. :S So much for enjoying the party and being awake.

huh, my bathroom door has a lock! 7 years in this apartment and i just found it today.

At least your child will remember the party fondly and appreciate all the effort you put in.

1st birthdays aren't done for the birthday girl/boy, they're done for mom. Keep her happy.

They're totally done for the parents.

Something I've learned in the past few weeks - Baby showers: they're for the kid's grandma.

I understand so much now.

HAHAHAH I may have made the mistake of mentioning to my wife something similar...

The first birthday is for the adults. Virtually no one remembers that far back. The 7th is also a big deal, bit that one's actually a little bit for the kids.

The pics of my son turning one with chocolate cake EVERYWHERE - hair to chest, ear to ear - are pure awesome. You should see the smile.

Actually, we decided that the kids will not remember their first birthday anyway, so we decided to take them to professional photo studio for great photos instead. Both instances turned out outstanding and made great gifts to the grandparents etc. The second photo shoot of 1-year old daughter and her 3-year old brother turned out especially cute. And no one protested the lack of birthday party.

You read that correctly. I suggest that you use your imagination instead of google when thinking about it, if you wish to think about it at all. As a young man with no internet supervision, a recent interest in anime and no societal context or awareness, I sought out anime and manga via AOL. This is one of the things I found. Oh how I wish I could forget it all. An argument could be made that if drinking heavily kill brain cells that could cause memory lapses, I should drink more. But given my luck, I'd lose all the good memories and all I'd be left with were Asian girls with huge boobs and dicks.

Those are the good memories, Grenn.

Don't, uh...don't ever play Nier, then.

Futanari

New parents, the engaged, some married people seem to really dislike the fact that my wife and I have no kids, and have taken affirmative steps to preventing having kids. And when we mention that I have an incredibly demanding career, and she is in a busy job considering grad school, things get snippy.

Was that a pun?

Not intentional, I am just that naturally gifted. Also, Oily is one of the good ones.

KG - screw the haters. Nothing wrong with being a DINK (dual-income no kids)

Haters gonna hate. And be jealous of your disposable income.

Tell 'em to mind their own goddamn business.

To be fair, I also get similar *poo in nose* reactions when I tell people the type of law and populations of people I wish to practice in. On a few occasions I have to trot out "what do you mean those people?"
