Interesting Kickstarter Catch-All

Help save Rusty Quarters Retro Arcade in Minneapolis! I know, not Kickstarter, but feel this is a worthy cuase as they are in danger of losing their shop.

For those of you interested in pimping out your sci-fi board games, Netrunner, etc.

Futuristic Metal Coins.

They're saying these won't be available at retail, it's a once and done thing. I have the Roman coins from the Age of Enlightenment kickstarter, and they're supposedly from the same manufacturer. They're high quality.

At only $12 for 50 coins, this is a pretty great deal. Ends today. I don't want to say how many I ordered.

I got a bunch of my gamer friends together on this one (to save on shipping) and we ordered 600 coins. Glad to see they broke 90k, so all the denominations are available.

I have no problem.

I wish I could open and operate an arcade/games room, but I know that I would, in the end, be dissatisfied with the customers.

I would imagine it as a fan club of people who appreciate and respect the machines. I know it would be a high school hang out of people who put a knee to the coin door when they lose.

So, new Torment game, if that's of interest to anyone at all...

For the adventure game fans: J.U.L.I.A. Enhanced Edition.

Nah, there doesn't seem to be much interest out there.

Spoiler:

$1,430,829 of $900,000 goal raised in less than a day

So it blew them away, yes?

So I just backed Enemy because it had me at:

procedurally generated worlds
turn-based X-COM style combat
amazing looking physics
characters and worlds based on classic games

I wanna play this like, today.

And Veloxi is the magic 1000th post! High fives all around.

This thread will now be funded!

Neat, what are the stretch goals?

The thread I made for this got completely ignored, so I'm posting here too.

Civitas

Civitas will be a revolutionary, open ended, community driven, highly moddable city building game, where you are not only responsible for terraforming the land, zoning, and building the structures, but you will also be able to manage many other aspects of your civilization. Civitas can either be played as a single player game, or you can play online with other city builders to make entire regions, share resources, and compete for citizens to build the largest city. We will not limit you to one or the other, both will be full featured and complete. Feel free to play it whenever, wherever, and however you want.

Race the Sun is now only $2.6K from it's goal with 8 hours to go.

Make it stop! I just added $20 to Sails of Glory to pick up the optional USS Constitution, and another $20 to Zombicide to pick up Brad and Lea.

So far I've managed to refrain from adding another $30 for the HMS Victory and Dakota, but my resistance is crumbling.

Anybody up for an intervention? I think I could use one...

I like those watches! I happen to have dainty wrists though. It's really hard for me to find a watch that looks proportional.

I don't normally wear watches, but hot damn...

Do you normally wear just one watch at a time then?

Cross posted from the board gaming thread:

The Sails of Glory Kickstarter is active. It's a table top miniatures game involving Age of Sail warships. Think X-Wing or Wings of Glory on the water and slow.

They have reached two stretch goes (HMS Victory and the USS Constitution).

I'm really interested in this, but I'm wondering how well the wood will wear. Sure, with a Sapphire face, the watch face with be fine, but the wood on the exterior is bound to get nicked up (at least with me).

I've had a phone that shows the time for the last 10 years, why would I need a watch, let alone many watches that would necessitate a watch rack?

And thanks to you magnificent bastards, I just went and backed Torment and Enemy. For Torment, there's still slots for the limited $75 level left, which nets you the game, soundtrack, art book, novellas, high-res concept art, beta access, name in the credits, and a digital copy of the Numenera player's guide. I added in an extra $25 since I missed out on Wasteland 2, so that also gets me a copy of that one.

So $100 for rewards from 3 different Kickstarters Deal with it.

Anyone else having trouble seeing the numbers for live kickstarters? All I know is that Firefox 19 might be related because IE works fine and several friends I asked don't have any problems using older version of Firefox.

Brian Fargo was tweeting about KS being wonky earlier today.

Oh good so it's not just me. It's a weird glitch. If I look at the actual scripting of the page it has the numbers but it doesn't show them for some strange reason.

Civitas

Cool sounding project, I like the idea of the more diverse zoning.

A couple of things concern me. First, I'm kind of skeptical about the November 2013 delivery date. Second, It's pretty cheap to get a copy of the game at $15, but the wording "One digital download copy of the first release version of Civitas at this pre-release price." makes me think I'll get a dump of the code in November and it will have some level of functionality but not a complete product. Third, I saw no mention about an engine, which is a big part of what will make or break the game.

I'll watch it and I might bite before it closes. Thanks for bringing it up again.

Not sure if this has been posted yet(didn't see it) but Richard Garriott is trying to get an RPG going.
