Company of Heroes 2 - From who? Ze Germans?

Pricing has greatly diminished my excitement for this game.

Jeez... I spent a billion-zillion hours on CoH originally, so this'll be another one I'll be buying. Its a good thing that I'll be getting 2 days off to everyone one I work now.

Indeed. $79.99 for regular and $129.99 for the collectors edition. Ouch.

Also, they don't exactly specify what the heck all the collectors stuff is.

German Whitewash and Russian Winter Cobblestone Pattern Bundle, Command Pass, Theater of War Collection Set, and Veteran Badge

What is a pattern bundle? A skin for my vehicles? What about the Command Pass or Theater of War Collection Set? More missions? A veteran badge? Eh?

I need some info dammit!

I just got an email from THQ with a link to some video of the gameplay.

Hopefully the transition to SEGA won't delay this game too much. Also, I'm hoping that existing pre-orders don't get cancelled.

Not likely. From the scuttlebutt the game is largely complete, Relic has enough funds to ride out the transition.

And I still hold out hope for a collaborative project Warhammer: Total War.

Really hope they make this work. Relic was never really good with the post sale support, so i'm hoping that with Sega behind them, that may change. This is my most wanted game of 2013, yet I'm still so very cautious about it.

I can't recall them releasing buggy messes (Homeworld on) and I do remember them heavily patching DoW2.

I'm mostly hoping SEGA treats them similarly to The Creative Assembly by letting them have seemingly free reign.

Not so much buggy messes, just the post patch support took ages. Original DOW2 (non retribution) took ages too since they had to get verification from microsoft due to being a GFWL title. So just hoping for some level of improvement.

CoH also had its fair share of infrequent patch deployment. I hope you're right about SEGA, but knowing Relic I doubt they will have much of an impact on CoH2's business model.

Lots of balance issues too. Tac spam was not fun in the early days.

That's pretty much it. Like if anything it would be nicer if they could respond faster to those kinds of issue.

Whoo! There's a release date: June 25th. We may have to reboot our tournaments.

Sweet, Just in time for my birthday! Now I can celebrate with some Nazi killin'.

Cool - this will give me time to beat Opposing Fronts and maybe the Chaos DOW 2 expansion, since I doubt I'll be playing any other Relic RTS after COH 2 comes out.

Is this an official announcement or a retailer listing?

If that ends up official I'll be scheduling some vacation time around there. Been looking forward to this game for so long.

This is an official date that was announced by Sega.

Sweet. Time to look at the vacation schedule

Well, time to warn my wife. I think I put over 1,000 hours of play into CoH.

I put over 300 into vanilla CoH and then a bunch more time into Opposing Fronts. I'm not near 1000, but I bet with the expansions I'm close to 500.

I'm disappointed that it got delayed (Because I want to play it!) but I'm glad its back on tracks and now has a release date. In that linked article they said that all pre-orders with the exception of THQ's website will be OK. That's a relief since I used a coupon code and a credit to purchase it.

For two years, me and a bunch of guys at Evil Avatar had 2 regular CoH nights, and many times those turned into CoH days. It got worse with the expansion. My Airborne and Luftwaffe tactics got smelly. CoH was like a part time job.

I got to know a good chunk of the GWJer crew specifically through the 2v2 Dawn of War 2 tournaments. It'll be nice to have a group of people to play games with without having to look hard.

I'm still sad I somehow missed all those.

I'm sure I could round up some friends if you wanted to play this weekend. I keep Retribution on my tower at all times.

I will happily slaughter you both if I need to this weekend.

I'm game for Sunday evening.

I still have Retribution installed too, but I never played a lot of it like you guys did. I'd just be fumbling around a lot.

Also I tend not to game on weekends, so there's that.

Hey, as far as tournament performance goes, you're GWJ's second best player since that was the most recent tournament =)

They're normally in bed after 8, chief. If I ditch, it's to play LoL.
