Random thing you loathe right now.

Feeling vaguely like I might be coming down with something, and at the same time, being unable to fall asleep.

Seconded. It's a horrible platform.

Blackboard hates you as well!

There's an Australian deep cut for you! Now I think on it, some old Australian TV was weird...

Suddenly, Mad Max is making tons more sense...

Well, that will haunt my dreams.

Cheesecake Factory will exist as long as there are offices who need to take their employees out to a place nicer than fast food but carefully calculated to not offend anyone's sensibilities, even the most picky and whitebread.

I kind of think Moe's isn't that terrible, it's about even with Chipotle, which is to say it pales next to a good burrito place but I don't mind eating there on occasion.

I only go to Moe's when I don't want to drive back 10 miles towards the office to get Chipotle and I'm already home :/

And what is truly terrifying is that Blind_Evil was talking about my local Moe's I'll be the first to admit its had some low points, but usually its still decent enough.

Can I just get it out that all chain restaurants more or less suck when compared to a good family run business? I make it my mission in life to show people the error of their ways, by taking them to a fine small business. Before we met, my wife loved Olive Garden. Then I took her to Comos at 9 Mile and Woodward. Olive Garden is never the subject of conversation anymore.

Not everyone is lucky enough to live in an area with a lot of good, independently owned, restaurants. But it is nice to. That reminds me, I want to go to the Fly Trap next weekend.

Fly Trap is off the chain.

Breakfast at 9 with me and the wife, and her friend Kelly my friend? Do you have other Sunday Plans?

Yeah, I'll be eating hot chicken in Nashville, Tennessee.

Bring me back a rack of ribs please?

Burritos in Chicago suck, so Chipotle is actually better out here. I miss California

I cannot comment on the burritos, but I have found some wonderful taquerias on the north side.

So all the pictures that I transferred from my phone to the new microSD card I just got have randomly disappeared... lovely. Nowhere to be found on either the phone or the card. Nothing SUPER important lost, but I had taken some pics I'd have liked to keep... Currently using Reduva to try and find them if they maybe accidentally got deleted somehow, but I'm not holding out much hope.

The stupider the ringtone, the louder it must be set, and the slower the owner must be to shut it off.

(Those must all stem from a general stupidity of the owner.)

Let me tell you about my ringtones: they are awesome. They are all Street Fighter II themes (Ken, Ryu, Chun Li, Guile, E. Honda, and the World Map), which start in the low to mid-range for a few seconds, then (if I hadn't heard it yet) add louder higher-range sounds.

But you will never ever hear my ringtones since I have the good goddamn sense to put my phone on silence when I leave the house. Can't put your phone on silence for whatever reason? Then at least try another volume setting than MAXIMUM.

Might be time to replace the 'ol Saints Row 3 ringtone. As awesome as it is, no one will hear it 'cause my phone's always on vibrate.

If they even let you repaint without declining your deposit, they probably won't foot the bill for letting you repaint.

Not sure why they used semi-gloss though, usually you use some form of matte for interiors and semi-gloss as accents, right?

Something like semi-gloss is good for kitchens as it is easier to clean so I'm assuming that was their reasoning.

(By the way, you really wouldn't need to sand it down. Remove anything that's peeling, wash down with TSP then a coat or two of Kilz primer, then paint.)

I've got the owner of this condo unit convinced now that painting it properly and professionally would up the resale value as it would look better and less like drunk people painted it with their feet. So he's willing to pay for it so long as I get him some quotes.

I've had three different companies in to look. So far they all say that because of the uneven paint (glopped on too thick in several places and then he tried to smooth it out when it was half dried with a bristle brush) it will need to be sanded a little to a) smooth out the lumps and b) ensure the best possible bonding for the new primer and paint. They also said semi-gloss belongs in bathrooms only for easy wipe up. Our kitchen has a full glass backsplash and no cooking/prep surfaces are near any other walls, so that's all good at least.

So, I guess this might truck on over to the 'love' thread soon...

So apparently the 4gb+ of music I transferred to my new sd card for my phone disappeared as well. At least, all the stuff I transferred in folders did. The loose mp3s that I just dropped in the music folder were still there. Sigh...

Just found out my girlfriend is being yanked back up to Iqaluit again for a week this month, despite spending half of last month up north. She's going to miss my birthday, our anniversary and a congratulatory work celebration for passing the UFE with the Auditor General. Plus I have the joy of looking after the puppy by myself for yet another week. Not her fault and she feels bad about it but yeah, friggin' sucks.

I had to look up where that is... Looking on Google Maps, I'm not convinced that is a place where humans should be. Looks cold and stupid. Sucks for you both

I have given up listening to Weekend Confirmed. Garnett Lee is just so fracking immature and I thought his treatment of Andrea Renae (on the most recent ep) (regarding Assassins Creed IV and Aliens) was pathetic.

Feels good, doesn't it?

Yeah. I used to like 1up Radio way back when - after attempting to listen once or twice to Weekend Confirmed, I think I figured out that someone at ZD was keeping his shenanigans in check.

Went to the doctor's today to learn that I'm anemic and borderline diabetic.

Great. That's...that's awesome. Fantastic. Birthday boardgames tomorrow night. Made birthday treats to bring and I can't have any of them.

The cake was a lie anyway! But that sucks, sorry to hear that

Is it sad that the only reason I know where that is is because of Pocket Planes? Regardless, that really, really sucks. Hope the puppy behaves and that you guys manage to set aside some special time for the two of you when she gets back. It won't make up for it, but it's a start, right?

Awww, that's just adding insult to injury. Reall sorry to hear that! Anemia sucks, but that's fixable. Hopefully, you'll stay on the borderline side of diabetes.

The month of March in New England. Hardly random, I guess, as it comes every year. March in New England is just dreary and miserable. It's 31 days long to provide the maximum number of opportunities for cold driving rain or heavy wet snow that one month can muster.

Even national holidays steer clear in order to let the misery really soak in, as one trudges to work every day in the muck. People go so far as to celebrate the patron saint of some tiny damp island in the Atlantic just so they can have a chance to drink heavily in public.

It's a First Nations area for the most part and since its government largely subsists off of payments from our federal government, they're subject to auditing by the Office of the Auditor General which is why she goes there several times a year. It is indeed hella cold (think -60C or lower with the wind during the winter) but it's a neat place. She actually enjoys the trips, she just got back from one not long ago and this is really short notice. The good part for her at least is she gets huge overtime and per diems for going there. At least we both have a week off after she returns, plus we're getting the puppy fixed that week which will hopefully calm him down some. Not looking forward to the week she's away but I'll manage.

Stupid snow and my stupid middle-aged back and the stupid hour it took to shovel my stupid driveway.
