Far Cry 3 or Persona 4 Golden

Hey all, so I am in a predicament. So I have the itch to pick up some new hotness that I missed out on when they came out. Both games have received rave reviews, and both are on different platforms. I have a pc that can play Far Cry 3 on high running smoothly etc. and a PSVita which I feel needs some lovin'. I am interested in the large vast world of Far cry, but in other games like this (skyrim, just cause) my interest has always stopped quickly after starting. I do hear that is is better in some ways than those games, crafting, taking missions into your own hands etc. The same goes for Persona, not a big JRPG fan, but I hear this one can draw people who arn't into them. I am into Path of Exile and some other games on the pc at the moment till Bioshock comes out, but I dont have anything goin on with my vita, and I miss her. SWAY ME.

I would have to vote on persona 4. That game has kept me much more interested long term than Far Cry 3 did.

There are a lot of JRPGs I would recommend before Persona 4. Those games are extremely long and difficult. Far Cry 3 is a broad, exciting, but shallow experience.

I dunno, if I were to pick one I'd pick FC3 because I finished it, whereas I quit P4 after about 15 (of 60+) hours. But my real suggestion would be something else entirely, like the new Devil May Cry.

Wow, real apples and oranges comparison here... if all things were equal, I'd suggest Persona 4 because why not support the little games that need it more? But I do agree that P4 can be a little intimidating mechanics-wise despite the very accessible story (that's the part that I think would appeal to normally-not-RPG-fans). If you do pick it up, play on an easy difficulty level. I played the PS2 version of Persona 4 on easy, still found it fun and engaging for the story... BIG time-suck, though, like most RPGs.

The whole apples and oranges thing was my main issue at first, I did get end up getting Persona because of lack of Vita time, and I can always get into FC3 later on. And it is definitely a challenge on normal so far. I had to seek advice from a friend whose beaten in, so with some sagely advice I think I can get through it.

Persona 4 was my obsession for months. I played it just about every day since it came out, finally finishing it at about 85 hours-the only handheld game I've ever put more than 5 or 6 hours into. I fall asleep just saying Far Cr....zzzzzz.......
