I had to read that five times before it made since.

I was typing on my cellphone, sorry

Eh, couldn't tell. :p

Managed to get my GP Solo top rolling last night. I am really liking a Frozen Mallet-Iceborn Gauntlets-Hydra combo. Iceborn works really well on those mana hungry mele champs like GP or Fiora. Hydra's ability triggers on the Q also. I toss in a Witt's End in there if they are AP heavy/Blade of the Ruined King against AD or Mele heavy. If I am lucky, I can work in an Infinity Edge or Statik Shiv.

The Iceborn Gauntlets make a brave new world for many brawlers that want to spam abilities-and I want to spam Q on GP. With the recent nerf to Warmogs, Trinityforce-Atmogs is pretty weak right now.

I'm enjoying Quinn quite a bit. It's been a while since a new champ as interested me in the slightest, and her kit is crazy fun. I've played her with all kinds of supports, and it seems like her laning phase is a bit weaker than other AD carrys. She's like a Vayne but with a risky slow instead of a knock back. In team fights she can go nuts though, although I still don't feel like I'm using her abilities optimally yet. The hardest choice seems to be when to go in or out of birdform ina big fight.

Hella fun thoguh, especially in out nutshouse last game on Saturday.

I've only played a few with her but it seems like you have 2 choices for bird form:

1.) Pop it early and hunt down a squishy target with your superior speed and take them out of a fight.
2.) Run into the middle, hit Q to hurt as many people as possible and pop out of bird form to hurt the bunch again. Then hit E and try to bounce out of the middle to continue to work like the ADC you are.

Though I suppose if you can burn down someone fast, you can do both.

She's kind of fun. It's really thrilling when Val marks an enemy champ, that burst is nice.

I was playing against her yesterday and she split pushed like crazy. Every time we would try and collapse on her, she would pop bird form and run away. Even as Leona with an Iceborn Gauntlet, Twin Shadows, and Shureylia's, we couldn't catch her. So stupid.

So faster and more annoying than Teemo?

I have yet to play her outside of the PBE, but I have played with her a few times now in GWJ 5 mans. Raven and I had a successful bottom lane that turned into a super fed game for him. 23-2-4 for quinn, 1-2-27 for me as Nami. Then another where we did fairly well bottom, they killed me more cause they had a blitz but they'd kill me and Raven would get a double kill on them. I think I ended up being like 4-8-30. With Draek as Quinn we were fine bot, till they brought 4...like 3 times...in a row. Same with Squee, we were fine bot, till they brought 4...like 3 times...

So Blitz is your kryponite?

In blind pick yes, or against penguins. Yes.

I run alistair alot now. He doesn't mind a blitz.

I think vayne players have a similar issue of "we were fine till they brought 4 bottom".

I think vayne is stronger with her true damage and the change to blade of ruined king. Also tristana with the ruined king's blade is annoying.

Haven't had a chance to play her in a real game yet because she's still selected pretty much every game, but from experimenting with her in bot games she does feel really fun. Popping someone marked as vulnerable, then quickly following up with a kick (which marks them again) and another autoattack does a chunk of damage.

I generally don't like his articles, but I think he articulated what I have been trying to figure out why League feels different in season three quite well.

Right now there is a lack of balance in the game, and instead of letting the community learn how to combat things that are overpowered, they are making drastic buffs and nerfs. It's a jump from the Flavor of the month overpowered thing to the next flavor of the month overpowered thing. I've had alot more success lately going back to the characters I know how to play better rather than chasing that flavor of the month. Go back to the I know the ins and outs of this character and you may have the advantage/fotm/op combo but i'll outplay the crap out of you.

But I think that it has gotten better, I see alot more characters than I used to in lanes. I have not played against a Darius in weeks. It's not a trinity of ez/graves/corki bot with nunu/sona. There is more than Ahri/Ori/Eve mid. In some ways characters have replaced them, Cait/MF bot, but i've seen more vaynes, dravens, varuses (vari?), kogs, ashes, and sivirs than I used to.

I think Riot is getting really good with character and skin sales, to bump up people with them. The Twitch Gangster skin went on sale a few weeks ago, and I got into 4 straight games with him picked. It provides a nice headline, especially for players who might not check patch notes religiously, that this character got a tweak Or we tweaked some of the items you want on them and you should try them out again.

Is it that bad? I'm seeing a really wide range of champs when I queue. Granted, I see some of the same faces now (I can't remember a game in the last few weeks there hasn't been a Taric) but in season 2 I had the same problem.

Further, there's a HUGE number of champs being played professionally. It's pretty great from the position of a spectator.

So if there really a problem or is it an Internet problem?

And how hard is it to find someone who can actually write to write a column? There are tons of un or under-employed writers out there. Surely some of them play LoL.

BC with a day of testing should have revealed it was WTF level.

I'm not %100 sure this is even a sentence.

I agree with some of his points, like how on earth anyone with half a brain wouldn't recognize that BotRK was stupidly strong, but I don't go along with his thinking that things which are being abused in low- and mid-ELO should be ignored. The majority of their player base is silver and below. His example of Darius was a silly one. That was a perfect change, one that pros won't care about because they don't play him, but that's fine, not all champions have to fit into 5 man synergy comps.

Most of their population solo queues or plays with a few friends. It's far better to make sure they're having fun than it is to ensure that there is an abundance of viable options at the top 0.1% for organized play. Pro teams invest lots of hours in the game and play for a living; they can adapt to rapid change.

I agree with you both. That person is an awful writer.

Right now they seem to have knee jerk reactions, that are often 2-3 weeks after the problem becomes full blown. Let's nerf warmogs(2 months after the fact), while buffing the main item to combat it(botrk), and buff a character that is already attack speed based with more attack speed/cheaper mana costs that scale well with this new botrk(trist/vayne.)

Rengar is too strong (nerf into oblivion, slowly buff but no one cares)
Darius is too strong (nerf after he has fallen out of play because of new itemization)
Eve is too strong (buffed by items, completely gut her ult)

It depends on where the money is. Less than 1% of people who play baseball in America play in the MLB, but that's where the money's at, and that's where the public's eye is, so that league is what determines trends and rule shifts.

I'm guessing skin sales earn Riot a bunch of money. I'm also guessing that season three sponsorships and distribution deals earned them a bunch of money.

Should Riot ignore the plight of the common man in our struggle against OP pub-stompers? Absolutely not. However, the focus should be on balance at the top tiers of play.

BOTRK is even better against some combination of locket/sunfire/randuins than against warmogs tho. BTORK wasn't buffed to fight warmogs. It's there to fight the super armor/hp tank. It's there to combat the 3/4 melee bruiser combos that were getting op in S3. If it's just HP, any auto attack carry can kill it dead with some crits and lifesteal to heaven off it, but that can't happen against someone who builds locket+sunfire+randuins without something like BOTRK.

What's scarry though is the balance issues that are gonna happen now with kogma/vayne etc who can output % or % true damage already. Stack on a BOTRK for 5 more % and tons of AS and you have a huge balance problem.

I expect we've only seen so much vayne/kog lately because quinn came out same time as the buffs to BOTRK.

I want me some Caitlyn BOTRK action with a nunu support tho!

I got you son. Once this Quinn kick is over anyway.

Also, just so everyone knows, it's pronounced Bo-Trick.

Don't forget black cleaver to make the auto attacks pretty close to true damage as well.

Oh, the hit single from Daft Punk. I love those guys.

Based on a comment by Xypherous it sounds like the BoRK is going to be nerfed rather soon.

I actually don't think it needs a giant nerf, just a tweak on the lifesteal or the attack speed. Hopefully Randuin's is up next.
