Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Catch-All – Shepards with Jobs

The Valiant is one of my favorite snipers. The Revenant is a fun gun with some stability and accuracy enhancements. The Vindicator isn't terrible as a sort of medium to long range assault rifle. Not something you will want to use later but not terrible for where you are at now. The Avenger fits the same category here.

With the human engineer, focusing on powers is indeed the way to go. Locust and/or Phalanx should serve you well enough there, I think.

Vindicator and Avenger aren't bad and have good cooldown at higher levels. The Vindicator might actually cost a fair amount of cooldown at I, though.

I wouldn't worry too much about assist:kill ratio. Score, while not a great indicator of real contribution to the team, is at least a decent indicator of damage done - I'd put more stock in that as a metric there.

Another level for my Hurricane. Now at level VII. Seriously, easiest challenge ever.

I'm just working my way slowly through the different challenges. 1 more Quarian Infiltrator extraction and the Rebellion Mastery is done. Woot! Also, the credit eating bug is starting to really get frustrating. Just played a match with Kloreep and Crouton and then went to the store, boom, gone. Seriously!?!?!?! Fix ya bug Bioware.

Locust is great. One of my favorite SMGs because it's light and still has good accuracy. Some of the SMGs are very difficult to use because of their terrible aim/recoil.

Much like the Argus AR. I hate that weapon. It's horrible and I know why I never see anyone using it.

Those are CRAZY numbers. That is awesome! Also, I will be glad to get drug into Gold at some point:) I need those original 6 maps on Gold for an achievement:)

Back when I started, we didn't even HAVE achievements! We had four different versions of each class, no delivery missions, and no escort missions. And we liked it!

Can a SME run an eye over my guns and recommend something to me please?
I've been going as the engineer with just a pistol mostly and banging out overloads and incinerates as fast as I can. I seem to do more damage that way. I'm clearly not doing much damage as my assist:kill ratio is just hopeless. I am not putting bad guys down.

I think I need to go to the Valiant I won today as my reward.

The Valiant is one of my favorite guns, it's one of my standard weapons on Gold with the Asari Adept (headshot spectacular) or the Engineer, actually. It's quite light; I get a 160% cooldown with the Valiant X, so it's still quite usable and still be power-heavy. Try it on the Engineer.

Eagle VI...as Lisa says, we feel neither highs nor lows. What's it like? Meh.

Bruce, if you want to run a shotgun Infiltrator, the Claymore is a great choice, and whilst it's not effective at range, it will do at least something at range (which is much different from the ME2 Claymore). The Locust is a good choice...eventually. By the time it's a X, you can equip one while still having 200% cooldown with a pistol as well, so I put it on Adepts who don't have shield stripping skills, along with an Acolyte, which does great shield damage but I don't like shooting. It's actually kinda weaksauce, but it's steady like Stele said, and good for a power-heavy mid to long range class.

I jumped back into some multiplayer tonight after not playing it since, I dunno, 2 months after it came out. Holy crap a lot has changed. I got hot dropped into a map I'd never seen against an enemy I'd never fought in multi (collectors) with powers going off everywhere that I didn't recognize.

It was fun.

I run a Shotgun Infiltrator all the time. I would be happy to run you through it next time we are online together.

I was running a shotgun infiltrator last night. I had lots of fun.

Had a great time last night guys, thanks for showing me the ropes!

Trying to deal with Bioware's Customer Service to get my missing Commendation Pack has lessened my desire to play, frankly. Spent quite a bit of time navigating an array of log-in screens and FAQs, then sat in live chat limbo waiting, waiting, waiting for my "under 5 minutes" to pass to connect to an operator. Bleagh.

Geez Louise, Glanton!!

What sort of timescale is that 550+ hours?

Yet you still seem to be having fun and not burnt out. In fact your enthusiasm in a match is kind of infectious so thanks.

So the base mode for shotgun infiltrator is sneak up and shoot them in the face I guess. I shall give it a go.

Kloreep has 586 on PC.

Just imagine if we could get those two together, they'd always have someone to play with. :p

Mr. Riccitiello, tear this wall down!

You people are ridiculous and have played way too much. My ~428 hours is just about right.

I have never seen that site before. Turns out I've played around 275 hours. Wow. It's kind of nice to see everything I've unlocked, except for those damn gear upgrades which seem to appear in packs somewhere between infrequently to never.

On a Salarian Infiltrator, it isn't bad.

Every idiot in town is running an Avenger in Gold tonight..........

Wasn't that last weeks' challenge?

Are they trying to finish off AR mastery because they got a head start last week? Cause seriously, there are better guns to start fresh and make up the 50k damage with.

Got the Talon Merc and it's... not good. Except the mines.

Also Crusader IX. The long nightmare is almost over.

gewy wrote:

You say that, but I'm guessing you don't have an Eagle X.

After some people's suggestion, I used the Crusader the other night. It's pretty damn good actually. A slug, so you don't need smart choke. Can put two other mods on it.

Has a weird delay when you fire, maybe that causes some accuracy problems, especially off-host. But it packs a solid punch.

Some more n00b questions:

Does filling up the common slots of weapons force the RNG to give you higher tiers? ie. Should I view the arrival of Avenger VI as progress as once I hit X then it means it will give me something better once these slots are filled to max?

Is it the numbers of enemies that increases in tiers up from Bronze? Not the relative toughness of each? An Atlas remains an Atlas but there is only instead of 3 that turn up? My aim is not great and I probably lag more so I am tossing up the lighter faster scimitar for the cryo infiltrator instead of the claymore. I think this will help me cover for my lack of skill but is there a clear downside I have not considered?

And more thanks for the awesomeness of my Goodjer guides who tolerate my poor play with encouragement.

Well once you've got an Avenger X and all the other basic weapons at X from buying the 5K Recruit packs, you simply won't unlock those weapons any more. You will start to unlock character cards and ammo. So you are better of switching to the 20K veteran packs. Level up all your uncommon weapons, then go for the Premium Spectre Packs at 99K. You can also alternate and go 5 Vet Packs, 1 PSP. Well, that's what I did.

As for silver, gold and plat, several things happen. First, the enemies actually get tougher. So their hit points and shields will go up. Plus you also get more of them. Your shield recharge delay also increases too. On platinum, you get a mix of all the races coming at you. So you'll get Brutes, Phantoms and Primes etc.

Thanks Sabre Noir.

I think I shall flip back to recruit packs instead of veterans for a while to try and fill those gaps as fast as I can.

I think I will be OK with the scimitar for bronze pick ups but will need to bring the claymore to the matches where goodjers are dragging me around silver.

Currently playing in a room with a guy who has promoted his Infiltrator 137 times.
