Guild Wars 2 Guild organization thread.

*3 Days Later*

I was chatting with a guildie today who needs the blue zone to complete the 100% Map completion achievement. Perhaps we, as a guild if we have enough people intrested could take a small group into the blue zone this week or next week when it flips so he could get closer to completion? We might not get everthing he needs but perhaps we can lower the missing points? Anyone intrested?

Just started the game today(yay for random sales) and so far am not digging it as much as the first one. Any tips for just starting out? Also when can I unlock my rewards from GW1?

The game plays very differntly that GW1. In fact, it's not at all the same game, so the best thing you can do is remember the lore and enjoy finding the references and familiar locations as you explore (go check out Lion's Arch.... seriously).

Send me a PM/Mail in game (Echovald Shield) and I'll send you a guild invite. It's always more fun with people.

If you linked your account to your GW1 account (through the account registration process) you should have a Hall of monuments portal stone in your inventory for all your characters. You can double click it to access the hall of monuments and claim your rewards.

If you have more specific questions, dont be afraid to ask.

I'd be up for this sometime next weekend. I mostly need the middle forts and vistas on the green and blue maps, plus stuff in the green and blue corners of EB.

According to this site, if this week keeps going how it has been going (i.e., very poorly), we'll be green in next week's matchup. So hopefully, it shouldn't be too much trouble to get what I need in that area. So a push into blue with some guildies to try and get the rest would be awesome.

I don't think we're likely to be able to take on a fort ourselves so long as we're matched up against Borlis Pass and Anvil Rock. We'd need a much larger zerg than we can field on our own. That said, I'd be up for a raiding party to help people get whatever parts of the maps we can get to.

Keeps are probably beyond what we can do but I think with 5-8 guildies we could take just about any tower(given the right timing).. the problems come when we'd try to hold it.

But if the real goal is popping some POIs then that's not really an issue.. grab the tower, get the poi, move on.

Thanks for the writeup Tyops. Let's also plan on burning all of those influence boosters we have this weekend.

I'm wondering how this works for people like me who are representing the Guild but in another server.
I think have to Guest back to NSP in order for my Influence gain to be counted to the Guild's main pool.

You'll still earn influence for your home server while guesting, and you'll only have access to the upgrades from your home server. I'm not sure if that applies to the guild missions as well, as they require upgrades to activate, but are essentially just challenges you can do in normal gameplay. I think you could help out, but I'm not sure if you'd receive credit unless you had them unlocked on your home server as well.

Yes. The core of the guild is on NSP so everything you do on another server contributes to the guild on that server only.

I'm already representing 24/7 and use up commendations for GWJ as I get them, sooo.... Business as usual? (just don't rush 'em, gotcha - now that I would know how ) Some of those upgrades look really neat, though.

Lets see what we can do to increase this. We had two dungeon groups last week. Running a small group in WvW would be good too, hitting up event after event.

Yes. Business as usual for you.

In addition, grouping up for events helps so if you notice that you're in the same zone as others trying to group up for dynamic events is a good idea.

Dungeon guild groups are also a nice influence boost.

As I was telling Tyops last night, the new update pretty much killed the viability of small guilds, at least in regards to guild content. So, I plan on getting the rest of my small friends and family guild to migrate over. A number of us have always been in GWJ but it is likely that 5 to 10 more will make the move.

While sad for your personal guild, hopefully its spirit will fuel the mighty octogear to glorious heights!

Hey guys, I just sent an invite request (ignore the first one please, I didn't submit my name correctly). I had been playing for a little while with my Charr Engineer, but I'm still pretty low level (lvl 13).

Don't worry, Darth Nader, we're not all power levelers. Welcome!!

Yeah, I know, except most of the time, it feels like I'm all alone in my zone. Goes with being on GMT+4, I guess. And just to be sure, we're talking about grouping with other Goodjers, right, not just random players? (sorry, I know, I'm clueless)

Well, that's it, this game has sucked me in, progress with the pile has grinned to a halt, but who cares, I'm having too much fun. Should finally hit 60 tonight!

Yes it is guild groups that guve us influence bonuses. Glad you're enjoying yourself.

Really agree with that sentiment, at the moment I dont even feel bad about ignoring the pile its sucked me in so much.

I'm having a lot of fun with it as well.

I'm assuming at my low level (25?) that other than leaving the guild recognized there isn't anything else I can do to contribute yet?

as long as you represent and are based on NSP, everything you do will earn us a bit of influence, even just logging on

It's not something you really have to focus on or be aware of

A note from Arenanet on guild bounty missions:

There is a current problem with Guild Bounty Missions and they are not functioning correctly.
We would advise guilds not to spend the influence to speed up the process to unlock the Guild Bounty Missions until such time that we are able to fix this error. We will keep you updated in this thread with regard to that fix.
Thank you.

EDIT:

This issue has been resolved. Thank you for your patience!

Thanks for the update. We were on top of that. In any case we just don have the influence to "speed" up any of that... We're researching all that "at a medium pace".

Is that what our characters are doing when we are not logged in? Do we have a captive Asura crewe? Can we feed them snacks to make them research faster?

When I'm not logged in, my characters are playing World of Warcraft. My elementalist has a level 85 paladin, and my guardian has a level 80 cleric. My engineer's account was hacked by Orrian gold farmers, so he's busy trying to get it back.

Guild updates.

First.
The way things are progressing with the guild build queue for the guild missions we will be finished building guild bounties by this time tomorrow. Then we will be able to build tier 1, 2, and 3 bounties. Cost is 200 influence and research time is 12h. This means that we should have access to some bounties by Saturday. Because lots of the builds we need to put in the queue require guild badges we will need to complete qutie a few bounties over the next few weeks.

Lets set a time for our first bounty on Saturday. We should probably do a Tier 1 bounty first to see how it plays out. After that it might be nice to set a schedule during the week so that people can meet up and have a shot at the bounties. We do have people in most time zones so it would be nice to have a discussion.

Second.
As you may have noticed, the cost of researching these guild upgrades is pretty prohibitive. I think we've been doing a great job over the last few days representing more and grouping for events and dungeons. Keep it up. We seem to be gaining roughly 1800 to 2200 influence per day and that's pretty grand.

Third.
Because the costs of all these guild upgrades are pretty prohibitive for smaller guilds, Badferret's smaller "friends and family" guild has started joining us in GWJ. I've promoted Badferret to an officer rank to facilitate the transition (guild invites etc.). Based on his estimates they have 5-10 active members nightly so this should be great for everyone involved. Hooray and welcome!

So there you have it...

Let's talk about a time for our first bounty on Saturday and some kind of schedule for after...
Keep up the good work representing and grouping.
And hooray for more people.

Thanks Tyops. I think I asked in the other thread but are guild bounties something you can only do at end game or can you do that while leveling up?

And when you talk about scheduling times, what time zone are you using?

Good questions.

The bounties will be champion mobs but they will be level scaled to whatever area they are in so when bounties spawn in the areas that work for your level you certainly will be able to participate. Tier 1 bounties require us to find and kill 2 champions, each will spawn *somewhere*. If we get bounties in Orr you might have to sit one out.

For the purpose of the discussion lets use EST because that's the only timezone I understand.

I've seen some nights where there was a GWJ group in WvW, but it's a fairly uncommon occurrence at this point.

I've become more interested in WvW to the point where I'm considering trying to find a WvW guild to join so I could be part of an actual organized group when in WvW. (The idea being that I'd spend the majority of my time in GWJ only swapping out when I was actually playing WvW) I'm not sure if a good fit for that plan actually exists though, because the most obvious organized guild (Os) has a one-guild-only policy and an absurd membership tax.

I've been mostly playing WvW lately, but I think I may have burned myself out. The level of stupid out there is astonishing.

I don't even know that Os had a membership tax; when I heard about the one guild only thing, I said no. I mean, not only do I have GWJ, but I have a personal guild, and a guild for my son, and Ducki has a guild...all of them because we needed the bank space. Apparently, I'm a MMO hoarder. Anyway, even if I was willing to leave a guild I've been in for almost a decade, through many games, so I could play follow the dot with strangers on the internet, I couldn't do it because I have no place to put all my stuff.

Anyway; I'm almost always up for a WvW group; especially since we get new enemies and a new color on Friday.

Ducki, in this game you can actually be in multiple guilds. The only stipulation is you can only "rep" one guild at a time, that is, get guild credit while questing etc. So you could be in a WvW guild and see their guild chat, etc and when you are done with WvW for a bit, you switch to GWJ.

Oh yeah, you can only WvW with a guild on your server also.
