DDO Orien server catch all - Static Group nights Tuesday and Thursday 8PM EST

I really need to get back into this - however I would have to start from ground zero...

Got my power back and am ready to play tonight.

My brother is also interested in playing.

Its not a big deal feel free to join us. We have a large range of characters at different levels because we have been helping others catch up to the main group. If you want help leveling let me know and I can jump on with you even on non play nights. Since my brother will be starting to play too there will be a few of us that can level together.

Are we on for 9est as usual? Or are we aiming for something earlier like we had been talking about?

If you are getting back in, and ever had characters on Orien, they are probably still there. The game is fairly forgiving in that manner.

Also, I think I have one character slot left open, if you and Arovin/his brother are starting back from low levels.

We are on right now with level 7ish characters.

Sorry all, worked late and didn't get home till almost 7. Spending some time with my wife then have vendor maintenance, so won't be on tonight. Thursday night is Valentine's day as well as my wedding anniversary, so yah, I'll see y'all next week.

No DDO for anyone tonight . They are having 24 hour maintenance.

http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p...

All Turbine Game Servers and http://myaccount.turbine.com will be offline for global maintenance from 6:00AM Eastern (-5 GMT) Thursday, February 14th until 6:00am Eastern Time (-5 GMT) Friday February 15th.

Important: The forums and wikis will remain up during the maintenance, but will be read-only. To receive the latest news and updates, please check our Facebook and Twitter feeds during the maintenance window. As a reminder, you do not need to join or sign in to those social networks to read the updates.

Customer Service will also be unavailable during the down time, and for a period thereafter.
We will update this page when Support is available again: http://support.turbine.com/ics/suppo...
Web tickets may be submitted at any time at http://support.turbine.com

Given they need maintenance, Valentine's day is a good day for taking it down; hopefully this will fix the sporadic lag issues that kept coming up.

Thanks to everyone who came out and ran The Pit with us last night. I had a lot of fun even if jumping is hard

Sorry I will not be around Thursday night, but looking forward to next Tuesday. Playing again has helped get me in a better mood lately.

I'll also be playing some over the weekend so if someone needs help leveling let me know what level you are at and I will jump on and help you out.

Also today is patch day Update 17 is out!

Notes here:
http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Relea...

Giant hold changes and new Epic Gianthold
New Item Augment System
Crystal Cove returns
Monster manual 3 released

That may be enough to get me playing again.

I was impressed with the number of people who showed up last night. I think there where 8 total, 4d had some technical problems and gave up his spot in the group and someone else showed up in vent right as we where finishing up. If we can keep that momentum we can probably get back to running two groups a night again.

I have a work function tomorrow night and then vendor maintenance Tuesday night, hopefully will be back in game on the 28th.

Thanks for the fun last night! Dwarfs can't jump....

What level does a character need to be to run with the group?

Rolled up a monk and got him to level 3. Haven't played in a couple years, and am enjoying some of the new features/enhancements.

We have a couple of groups going, on around 7-9ish and one 12-15ish

I am planning on working on a level 7 rogue tonight and this weekend. I could start it at level 4 if you would like and help you level up some.

Arovin,

Not sure how that would affect your rogue, but if you are willing, then I am game as well.

I will be on late tonight, and then over the weekend as well. Character name is Moburu

That should be fine. I'll send you a guild invite when I am on later.

Oh by the way, all characters that where created before update 17's patch get a free

*Edit* - Looks like there where some technical difficulties and some characters did not recieve a box. They are working to fix it.

Birthday Battle Box

This 7th anniversary gift box was placed into the inventory of all characters created prior to the release of Update 17.

Double-click it to open barter UI. You can select one of the following rewards:

Eternal Flask of Heroism: eternal flask of Heroism (ML1, duration: 3 minutes; cooldown: 5 minutes; BTC)
Siberys Spirit Cake x4 (BTA)
Concentrated Elixir of Major Mnemonic Enhancement x25 (BTC)
+2 Ability tome of choice (BTC, but can be crunched into Purified Eberron Dragonshard Fragments which are BTA)
Pork Barrel x3 (BTC)

Thanks for taking the time to help me get re-familiarized with the game last night Arovin!

If anyone doesn't have it yet, the expansion is on sale on Steam for $17.50 right now, which I think if the lowest it's ever been. I really would like to actually get to play some of the high-level content one of these days. (Also, looks like I'm in for tomorrow, barring further unforeseen technical difficulties).

I have maintenance tomorrow night, so I won't be on.

DDO 2013 year ahead:

http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p...

Here is a good summary

– we’ll be overhauling our bug reporting tool
- Work on the new enhancement system is well underway and it will be heading to its first public beta this spring. In its current iteration, each class has at least two prestige class paths
- more uses for Astral Diamond shards
- DDO’s second expansion titled ‘Shadowfell Conspiracy’ coming this summer!
- raising the level cap to 28
- Iconic Heroes... get[s] you right into the Forgotten Realms starting at level 15. Each of these Forgotten Realms born characters will start as a race class combination with new racial abilities.
- Epic True Reincarnation
- owlbear monster

Lots of stuff to look forward too.

Strongly considering giving this another go. I played around with it in the olden days, and I literally don't even know what characters I have, what their levels are, or what servers they're on. Assuming I'm able, I'll be happy to look you all up.

Awesome, you are more then welcome to join us. I hope to have enough people on to attempt a raid again at some point.

I am jumping on now to play. I am sick and a little dopey from Dayquil, hopefully I will last long enough to get to play for the whole session. If I am out of it tonight you know why.

Also, there is a 30% boost on guild renown active right now.

I am dumb and didn't realize there was a patch. It's going real slow...

I made a brand-new cleric last night and, after remembering how to play, levelled him all the way up to...level 1! I suppose level 1.6 is more accurate. I ran a couple of the newb missions with "open group" on and, heck, a couple of random players showed up and killed stuff with me.

All in all, it was a good first night. I admit that the Steam offer of the expansion for half-price ($18) is tempting, since it has the druid class, a greater tome of learning (+50% XP on first completion of a mission) and the ability to make characters at level 4 right off the bat. It also has a few adventure packs. The way I see it, even if I just play a few hours a week, $18 is pretty cheap entertainment.

Spron,

I recently started up late last week. After running around with Arovin on his elite missions, I am level 7, with a Chronoscope raid under my belt! While I cant open things on elite on my own, and have broken the super streak, I am still having fun running various missions.

I haven't bought the expansion pack either, but am tempted as well. I do not run DDO via steam, but the notice on steams states you must have the original game on steam to run the expansion. That is the only reason I haven't pulled the trigger; guess I will need to look into it more.

Look me up if you need help with anything, I'm playing a Monk called Moburu.

The original client is free on steam. You don't even have to download or install it. Just add it to your account and then right click on it in steam and you can pull up your expansion CD-key to add to your turbine account.

I also think the offer for the expansion on Steam gives like 1000 TP, which isn't much but it's more than zero.
