Wait...up to 75%? But some are higher? Than why not say "up to 85%?"

Because Major Nelson.

The Steam one comes with a bunch of TF2 items that'll likely be worth something in that community.

Though, right now, that's showing as not unlocked yet. (Much less the free copy of XCOM.) The promise is that if enough people preorder, those and unspecified other bonuses will be added.

Steam hasn't used that kind of gimmick before, right?

If memory serves, they've never done it without hitting 100%.

Great, a sale for me to dread look forward to.

If the price is right, there's a good 4 or 5 games on that list for me. Never actually bought AC1, but I'm just some flags away from 100%, and the MGS games have been on my wish list for a while.

Use the code "CAGROCKS" on the final purchase page to get an additional 25% off. I just got Dark Souls for $11.24.

It's a steam code, too. All the better.

Awesome. For some reason I was on the fence about $8 for the first 2 Dead Space games, but couldn't resist for $6.

Yeah, can't decide between $2 DLC and free XCom.

Decided I was going to go with the GMG deal. I signed up for an account, have not received an activation code, so cannot complete the transaction.

I finally got the activation email but it seems my bank isn't going to allow me to make the purchase. If you have to have an automated message that some banks think you are a gambling operation, then there is an opportunity for your company to better establish itself. I was hoping for the credit so that I could get the DLC for a song(bird). No such luck I guess.

I hear that using PayPal instead of credit cards works in these situations. Never tried it myself, but it might be worth a shot.

I don't have any FHE with GMG, but after my bank shut off my card for buying things from Desura, I started using PayPal and haven't had any problems.

I was just able to call my bank and get them to approve it.

Apparently my banked blocked them because they are located outside of the states. I use a pretty large bank (Wells Fargo)- I'm pretty surprised that in a digital age they have such restrictions. I understand that you need fraud safeguards but what surprised me is that even after talking to them they're unable to put GMG on an approved list. They can open access for a certain # of days (as if I was on vacation in London, where the site is registered) but they can't just put it on an always ok list.

So, anywho, I apparently am on a London vacation for the next two days so I was able to make a purchase. Only, the key doesn't work. Does it not unlock until the game releases?

I'm going to blame my lack of understanding on my headache- it was just a key for the mini game thingy. They have fast customer service, I'll give them that.

It's because they are outside the US, and because "gaming" in a site's name implies illegal gambling.

Banks have all kind of automated anti fraud stuff as well that is based on patterns the see on their losses.

Yeah, the first time I ever bought something from GMG it was rejected and I had to call my CC company to get it approved. The conversation I had with them included the line "Green Man ... Gaming? So, that's a gambling site?".

Bought a couple of things since and never had a problem, so my card issuer (Chase) may have figured out that they should be whitelisted.

I'm also on Chase. Pretty much exactly what I saw.

Limit 1 per order. Lame. I need to pick up one for me and one for my fiance.

Apparently they don't mind if I put through 2 orders.

Sent a PM to Lobster, did not send to both Lobster and Agent 86, because that felt greedy

One's all it took. Sold, to the sithload!

Me too, same deal. Gone!

I have a copy of BioShock on Steam. 1st non-grinder to pm can have it. Gone!

Thanks Lobster! I've hovered over the Buy button a number of times during sales but never bought it. Maybe this will prompt future franchise purchases

That's how Crack works.

I didn't know you could get past coffee grinder without playing Bioshock.

I actually started replaying it last night in anticipation of the new one and to show my girlfriend. It's probably my 4th play through (though first in over a year or year and a half) and it still amazes me.

MANY THANKS! to Agent 86! I only played it through once on my now deceased 360 back in when it came out, it is one my favorites and I am definitely gonna dip into this before Infinite releases. Gracias senor.

Is anyone aware of a cheap version of Skyrim:Dragonborn? GMG has been out of stock for a while, and I can't see any decent offers elsewhere. It seems to be 'wait for the steam sale' category.

How can GMG be out of stock? It's DLC!
