Starcraft II HotS Multiplayer Swarm-All

WoL patch 2.0.4 is out. Some interesting new features in there, leading up to HotS.

Groups and clans look like they're active for everyone now. Does GWJ have either set up yet?

I doubt it. From the description it sounds like we should make a general Gamers With Jobs group and anyone who wants to be more competitive should join GWJ Clan(s).

p.s. Littleton FTW

Nice. I didn't know they were bringing all the HotS upgrades to WoL. Makes me not even want to buy the expansion now....

Squee!

I created a gamers with jobs group. I guess I should make it private...

Well, at least I can say that the AI is much better.

Oh, shoot PWAlessi. I saw you on and forgot that was who you were.

Unranked matchmaking is interesting..my first three games I played a bronze player, a top 25 masters and a "silver player" who played at 280 apm.

Please add me to the group! My info is in my signature.

Should we bother starting a spreadsheet since it's a "limitless" group?

Please add Rebif.226 to the group

That's cool, no problem. I didn't really have time for too many games anyway. I cranked through three or so against the AI and the my wife reeled me in to watch something on TV.

Done.

Please don't make the group private. That will only stop people from joining since it requires the owner to be active and online regularly.

It was private for about 3 seconds.

Also, unranked is worse than ladder. And it's only zerg's fault. EVERY zerg cheeses. Literally everyone. Like 8 in a row so far. Not sure what the point is with no ladder points at stake.

Thanks.

If there isn't already a GWJ group on the EU server I'll set it up tonight. Keeping them open should make it easier to find people cross server once that goes live, since you can just join the group rather than spend your evening adding an entire new friends list.

Oh cool, I actually just did a search for "Gamers With Jobs" this morning and wasn't sure if it was the actual group or not. Just joined it

a

Uhhh....huh. That's a lot of apm

There's now a public Gamers With Jobs group on the EU server as well.

I'm really liking some of these new changes. Played a bunch of training mode to get myself back into the swing of playing again... Now I'm faced with the same decision I was when WoL came out: main Terran or Toss?

Why not Zerg? Less building management!

I suggest checking out the new VS AI mode in Matchmaking. You can now go 1 on 1 against increasingly difficult AI opponents.

Also if you create a custom game against AI you can stipulate what build they do, that's pretty awesome for training.

+1 to this--already played a couple games today and the AI is pretty damn good.

Yeah, really big fan of the update. I joined the group too. I'm sticking to random in HotS!

I think I'm going to try and play some SC2 tonight, be it WoL or HOTS, but after the silly Playstation conference thing is over.

I'll be on after the Playstation thing as well. If anyone feels like some obs games or comp stomps or whatever I'm down.

I don't know if I'm going to dip into HOTS. I haven't seriously played WoL in maybe 4 seasons or more. I watched a few zerg HOTS streams. What I saw

- Infestors are apparently nerfed into oblivion.
- You need roaches against terran now?
- Medivacs zip in like speed upgraded warp prisms and drop super firebats that do absurd damage and are tanky
- A lot of air toss. That was one of my least favorite things to fight in WOL and I had instant cast fungal back then
- Mothership core has a super time slow field that seems kinda op to me. Also saw some high risk/stupid moves that the protoss got away with because of recall.
- Viper seems pretty cool. Seems easy to snipe by vikings though. Great abilities.
- Dunno what to think about swarm hosts. Seems to lack "muscle" to stand up to a deathball

Wuss.

Joined the group last night. Really like what they did with the menu UI. Did not get the memo that leveling your races unlock things other than portraits which is cool (and might get me into multiplayer). Still wish they gave a breakdown on the number of achievements you've earned instead of the score as I'm a backloggery nut and I prefer to list the number instead of the score.

Ehhh, he's just scared of me kicking his butt with my amazing Terran play.

Has anyone played the SC:Universe map yet? It's sort of sluggish control-wise (I guess the 2.0.4 patch messed a few things up that they're trying to fix) but it's very, very cool. If I didn't know any better, I'd say it's something that Blizzard themselves made.

So, am I the only gwj Zerg player for HotS? Who will tutor me now??

Let's just all stick to WoL until (if) Blizzard figures out how to make HotS not suck.

Sorry, I'm a hater so far. Maybe it'll be the most fun thing ever when I finally put more than a couple of hours into it.

Dare we attempt to set up a particular night to play some games? I never really see any GWJ'ers on most of the time, except Soda Gremlin who I can't add for some reason.
